nope, i do aswell! it's an awesome map but it was designed for tanks with abilities in mind so it would be interesting to see how well it would integrate
@lethal oak this map has a lot of possibilities, the matches are fast and dinamic, and is easy to flank the enemy
the pace of the games played on this map are a result of the tanks abilities though. I do appreciate the number of lanes and flanking possibilities however
or are you suggesting that after the event is finished, this map is in the roster and tanks still have their abilities on it?

Well they are adding another desert map beside the wasteland one and they are also adding a reworked portbay and mines but they are also doing the Overlord map from pc so im saying its possible for them to add rain effects and water effects to the map when it releases :p

The followings maps should be playable in Training Rooms:
Old versions of the reworked maps
Halloween versions of existing maps
Wasteland map
Or renameing the Wasteland map and put it into the game as a regular map
The Wasteland map is not bad, need to rename and put it the game. This is a not bad idea in my opinion
They need to add more historical maps like PC. Paris map is nice, stuff like those
They should add more bushes and foliage in all the maps as well. When they make them bigger hopefully add entire forests and a lot of bushes just like PC.

Maps like copperfield and mines are super small and tanks can be spotted really easy by just about any tank at tier 10
But why is Mines one of the most annoying maps to dig TD's out of, in that case?
Because they need cover in order to not get nuked from their spawn since they'll get spotted once they shoot
If they're using bushes correctly, they won't get spotted.
Only for tanks that have really good camo
No, not really. As long as you reverse from the bush about 15 meters, set up camo net, and then fire, you should remain unspotted.
Just about any tier 10 TD will be almost insta-spotted once a med or a heavy crests the hill on mines. Which is why they have rocks to cover them
That's simply not my experience as a TD driver on that map.
There's isn't always a lot of space either for TDs to backup. Plus they always try and rush to those bushes asap because they want to catch mediums coming up the hill, so they don't always try and get into the perfect shooting spot to not be spotted right away which makes them get spotted easily
Even if they're spotted that easily early, what does it matter when there's no other reds anywhere near in a position to shoot at them?
Oh there will be. Going hill is very common on mines. And heavies won't shy away from blind shooting the bushes that TDs camp in. And again, TDs that sit in the back will get spotted once they shoot, cause of tanks on the other side of the hill
There's only a chance of something like a Patton going hulldown on the entrance ridge that early, as there's simply not enough time for anybody to flank town and both sides' sniping positions are fairly protected from island rushers.
By that time, any TD driver worth their salt would have reset camo. I think Mines is fine as is, the only change I would make is maybe adding in a second entrance via the town. Hill as a chokepoint is way too dominant late-game.

Eh, I'm quite welcome for a mines rework. Wayyyy too small. If it were to stay as is I would like for it to be only be available to tiers 1-5 just because of how small it really is
The corridorization makes it feel really small, I'll give you that, but I think it's still balanced.
WG is still working on changing it, despite how much you say it is "balanced." It's only really balanced for low tiers, not tiers 6-10. There tanks get too big and it gets really crowded
Yeah, I can see that the chokepoint at the hill and the one right at the base of the hill in the little town are a bit small.
I still don't think a raw size increase would accomplish what you're trying to do without causing other issues.
Imo the original mines was better. It was bigger and allowed players to take advantage of the terrain and distance better. Though it did need a bit of a rework, not as much as WG did to it now
It was also better in that the hill had three total entrances instead of one for mobile tanks.
That was one thing that I loved about it
Here's a thought, trim the mountains that make up the 5-6 line way down, shift the hill towards the red line a bit, and remake the "speed gated" protected entrances on either side.

Tbh, I think the mountains near the 6 line are fine, I'd like to make the mountains behind the spawns longer. Extend the distance of the 1-2 and 4-5 lines
Then rearrange the terrain accordingly. I don't make maps, so that's where WG map makers come in
Moving the hill to the right isn't simply to make more room, it also increases the distance from rounding the corner to TD spot and allows a longer corridor for heavies to really fight in, provided buildings aren't put in as an afterthought like on the current Mines.
Maybe make the hill similar to the ones that are like the ones on alpenstadt

Mines has always been a big brawl at the entrance of the hill, since I first played it when the game came out on NA in what, 2011? It's got a certain nostalgia to it, and at that level of change you might as well just remove and replace.

@opal pike to answer your question ppl hate Vineyards because there is a city on each side (hardly playable for lights&meds), and out of the city you are extremely exposed to enemy fire.
There is also not reliable sniping position, so TDs must do second line and get exposed too.

They should bring back the old map system. Whenever i play tier 2/3 the only maps i get are Fort Despair or Mines

Pubg mobile can have 60-100 players and sometimes the game last 20 mins.. so i dont see the issues except they have console and pc format for that.

Blitz still could use slightly bigger maps for this game meta.. or reduce view range? Or stop having heavys and tds perform like mediums.

Im tired of others ruining a fun gaming experience by dying in the first 30 secs... or yoloing.. or having teammates do 0000 damage.
How can 3 people not hit 1 tank?? Thats crazy. The other day i was on a winning team and when we finished the other team had 6 0’s i felt so bad for the guy that actually did 1700 damage.. but why does he have to go through that?

And with maps yielding all your team down one side.. if the enemy tries to split up and use the map they will lose.
Also.. sometimes you can go down one path but you cant run. So with no escape, again severely punished.
How many times on Port.. you’re in a medium or light tank. You go to the river and some of your team goes town? By the time you reach your spot... wait 20 seconds to spot anyone, you look at the map and all reds are town. And half your team is getting obliterated.. so now by the time you can reach a flank you’re down 2-4 players.

@opal pike with respect to players not doing much, I watch my kids and their friends play on their phones. It’s mobile, not always easy to play on a phone, and they are just messing around. I’m sure there are hard core fortnight players cussing them out. It’s the price of a mobile game. It will never be hardcore.
I just cry at the end of those games and move on.

Just learning game and how to play tank positions like hull down. I find the maps frustrating because I do not know where to position to take advantage of that. And when I think I have it, the game flows completely the other direction.
With TD I find it hard to sit back to snipe because I cannot see anything and if I am not pushing up with others I get called camper or reported for inactivity when I am searching for targets.

@thorny venture dont worry about people calling you a camper.. if your in a td that has barely any armor... you’re not supposed to be up front. Teams need the tds in back to punish the reds when they push. When you dont have targets.. probably time to move.

As for education about maps (see previous discussion above ^), i would suggest to not only drive around alone but do 1vs1 or many vs many in training rooms. Also, do not only follow youtube videos but watch many replays and see how/where people went to. We have been trying to make it easy for people to submit replays to WotInspector through WotBot, so check it out. WotBot can also show you very detailed statistics breakdown of your every days battles, etc, but that's already a bit of topic here....

PC and Console Himmelsdorf only have the hill as real altitude difference. I think it's good to have variation in maps
Some extreme differences in Naval, slight bits in Yamato and more or less middle of the road in Oasis

@austere lark They are so small that dont make gun depression usefull. Maps should be designed tanks with gun depression can use this to their advantage. You cant use gun depression to your advantage in himseldorf.

no lol advancing in mines is a death sentence the cmaping locations are way too defensive. And camping at castilla hill isnt cmaping. There is a huge risk of u actually being attacked in a brawl up there. U have to move mor ethan 5 feet. Mines is the only map that rewards camping with no punishment
for example in Castilla u get spotted and flanked u die. Canal similar its ez to spot idiots on the hill. For Dead rail just cap its ez. Mines has no real counter to the camping
If camping in mines is so common, just blind shot into the bushes

its a shit map and should be removed coz tds can easily hide and farm dmg unlike any other map. Name another map that does this
it will not help you how to remove tanks because noobs will not learn so, so how to remove tanks will not solve the problem with new players who can not play it I would leave as it was in patch 5.4 when it comes to tanks
Mines is a tier 2 map and you shouldn’t be in this map with tier 7+ tanks
In my opinion, the best general strategy is to rush the hill.
It needs to be done as a team, and coordinating fire is a necessity.
If your teammates aren't rushing the hill, it's not worth it. I also was in a mines match with almost all tank destroyers in my team, including myself. Under circumstances like these, a different approach may be superior.
A lot of maps see people scream “all together” or everyone has to go the same way...

@fading sable what do you want to spot for? If someone pulls around a corner he is spotted anyway on this map, no matter what tank, the only time you can shoot unspotted is over middle, even on PC it has very little use to actually winning the game for this exact reason

We need a suicide map. Enemy teams are lined up in a row facing each other. Heavy, med, td in that order. When battle begins there’s no where to run or hide except using enemy or teammates. I think that would be a blast

I feel it needs to be reworked in some way. WG developers have done amazing work in other maps. I like Alpenstadt, Canyon, Vine yard, and so on. But feel Rockfield could be improved a bit

@austere lark Yeah. It’s a suicide map. The idea is a quick face to face brawl and only cover is enemy and friendly tanks. So it is about quickly getting organized and stomping other team. It’s a quick game format.
It’s like another game mode like mad games. Maybe I should have clarified that.
Alpenstadt is also a small map but we can do different strats on that unlike rockfield. The community is slowly maturing and Rockfield is not a map that would help in the learning curve. Also the gameplay satisfaction.
That might get boring real quick

Remving the uneven bumps and replacing with a smooth hill will be a good start. Like the hill in vine yard or Alpenstadt.

I see. I however see the map as an active map; you must relocate when a spot is no longer viable, hence the easy spotting zones. There are multiple flanking opportunities for mediums and lights, hulldown heavies thrive in Rockfield. Unfortunately, only the northeastern corner of the map is played, the the southwestern corner is rarely played, even on Supremacy

Relocating cant be half way across the map. Difficult for medium itself! Think about heavy who have to go their path which was decided. The rescue team faces suicidal effort in Rockfield.

There’s a difference between big maps with unusable area and big maps with usable area. Think about how restrictive castilla and dynasty are, then look at canal and falls creek. All the same size. Completely different feel
@austere lark Since you will be lined up single file, heavies will be in front of you. Use them as meat shield. Quickly coordinate with team mates. Then use dead tanks as shields. I even got a name for it. Suicide Games. Again it’s a quick action back team strategy game.
It’s not meant to replace regular pub games and is supposed to be similar to Mad games.

It's not about the looks it's about the gameplay on the map there are to many big hills and on both spawns Close to impossible to spot camping spots, on the Castle you need like 45° of gun depression to make something out of it and there's one side completely isolated form the whole map, oh and last capping is impossible on that map
