I haven’t played it nor against it yet since my team mates take care of it before I am able to face it so I can’t give an opinion. From gameplay I have seen, in mass, it is strong since focus fire can wipe a tank in the matter of a few seconds. Alone however it’s good depending on the player. They could boom n zoom, thus keeping their HP or unload all heck (mods ples don moot) in a few seconds but be unable to do anything after due to reload and relatively weak armour.

Well relocating after shooting is a normal thing. So you shouldn't be worry being called out by your team cause of it, you're reserving your HP so it's good.
Getting early game damage and surprise attack on the first minutes is good too.

@brisk orbit The way APDS shells work is they’re displayed as APCR shells, however, they have characteristics that make them quite different from normal.
For one, they have very low pen drop off over distance. The 105mm APDS shells on the Leopard 1 for instance have like 8mm pen loss at 500M as compared to like ~40 on the M46 Patton’s 105mm APCR.
Also, APDS shells get extremely high shell velocity, ~1500m/s as compared to APCR shells, which normally have ~1100.
These 2 changes are meant to model the difference created by the discarding sabot on APDS relative to APCR, but since both rely on a thin, dense penetrating core, they both get 3 degrees normalization

Can someone explain how to play the St Emil, or is it just a bad tank? The gun dpm seems pretty reasonable and the depression angle is great, but it has literally no armor, is slow as a snail and has not that great dispersion. @alpine notch I don't like skipping tanks, because that will limit my abilities to counter them. Do I understand you correctly, in that you mean that an Emil player should always stay back and should be played as a snipe tank? If so, I guess my last few games were just unlucky, with my entire team driving off to one side and leaving me behind with one flank fully undefended.

I did not skip it on first time having Emil, its like Tier 6 D. Max with bigger gun, chassis (means have to utilize hulldown often to survive and hide most your parts)
Gun mantlet is surprisingly strong too, i have mostly difficult time when facing against it on hull down

Eleets I would say about 50% of the tanks have legendary camo. KV1 was my first. T44s have some nice ones.

The chieftain is nice. 121B is ok. The 100mm gun is not the best. I have the badger but I haven’t gotten very good at it. M60 I don’t have.

Your tech tree tanks are just as good,you want to try and use that free experience as much as possible to help upgrade your tanks. The chieftain should be up for sale soon and then you got the fall sale and then Christmas is around the corner. Some of your tier 10 premium tanks will probably be a little cheaper.

Until i know one day, on a fight as last person alive against 2 tanks, M103 and ST-I, in Normandy, i did tried hulldown and works good, but i failed until they pushed me, they just gold rounded me like it was nothing

Y not hulldown? Thats the usual place to be for tank on good gun depression
I've been using Firefly until now (which is inferior on depression than M4), really good on hulldown (but, depends on the place and map as well)

@elfin meadow ridge fight. Use your mobility to get to good hull down ridge fighting positions. Then use your gun depression and turret armor to abuse reds. Don't brawl and be ready to fall back to another ridge before you get overran if you are being pushed
There’s nothing wrong with American tanks you just have to be hauled down there’s some of the best things in the game to have gun depression in my opinion

VK 45.02 A is pretty trash, T28 is disgustingly bad, SP 1 C has no place in the meta, T54E1 is really bad, and the FV4202 needs a bit of love
