There are no further Tier changes planned. Tanks like Patton, VK & Vickers will possibly be looked again later in the year.

The tier changed tanks this time around seem very undercooked, other than the somua. Perhaps the most obvious is the t34-3, which is inferior to the wz-120 in every way save for 20 alpha and very marginal penetration

The turret is weaker, it is slower, has worse camo, has worse aim time, worse accuracy, worse bloom, worse dpm

The 59 Patton retains its prior weaknesses, except now gained another one, a medium tank with 240 alpha in tier 9, whilst also not having standout dpm is a completely baffling choice. It retains the terrible hatch, whilst stronger is still a pen to equal tier standard rounds, and all gold rounds. It is still extremely slow for a medium but the armour definitely does not reflect this. The camo is horrible, and it no longer has outstanding gold pen for its tier. Big miss.

the vk168 retains the horrible side armour behind the tracks, which makes angling this tank pointless. The hatch armour is also laughable, why is this an autopen to all HESH rounds, even bad ones? This tank is a superheavy. The lower plate is already weak, it has a hatch, the turret face is goldable, the upper has a gun port weakspot, so why compromise it even further with these issues?

the vickers maintained its good armour going up a tier, but the pen is now absolutely horrible (225mm apcr standard), but now the alpha is no longer good for the tier, it still has below average dpm, poor dispersion, and very bad p/w. Overall another big nerf, and removed what identity the tank did have.

Tier changes are completely fine WHEN specific buffs are given to keep the adjusted tank RELEVANT to face different kind of enemy in battle.

Player experience in feeling of the tank while keeping the tank unique matters a lot more than the plain paper statistic.

When the VK168 was at T8, I compared it to the T8 VK100. They had similar performance, and in some aspects, the VK168 outperformed the VK100. However, when the VK168 was upgraded to T9, I compared it to the T9 Mäuschen. Firstly, while the VK168's powertrain may have undergone some adjustments, the actual perceptible top speed remained at 20 km/h, while the similar Mäuschen had a top speed of 25 km/h. In other aspects, the Mäuschen also had an advantage over the VK168. I initially bought the VK168 because it was a T8, so I wouldn't be competing with the T10. Moreover, with monsters like the Type 5 Heavy now available, if I were to compete with the T10, I would choose to obtain the Mäuschen through the tech tree rather than spend real money to buy the VK168.

Many of the tanks that were uptiered were old, not played, and not interesting. The uptiering was an opportunity to give these tanks a refresh, and in some cases it was successful, but most of these feel like wasted opportunities.

For autoreloaders, would be cool if the tik tik sound plays everytime the last shell is fired.

Because it doesn’t diversify the tank playstyle or the tier it’s in, because it’s now LESS unique
And it wasn’t to nerf it for being too good for its tier because it wasn’t really a good tank
And I don’t think it was because of realistic power scaling (like how Kpz 70, Tornvagn and Vickers made perfect sense to be moved up because they’re some of the most modern tanks in the game)

I just genuinely don’t know why it was moved, if we could be given a reason why this decision was made I would love to hear it

The ONLY reason I could imagine is to nerf it in gravity mode, but if that’s the case then why take away the ONE fun unique aspect of this tank? In one side game mode that doesn’t affect player stats or anything

They didn't really nerf it in gravity mode, now you have more hitpoints of enemy to ram, and I don't think they much care about balance in these modes anyway.

It also wasn't unique at tier 8, so I don't think it actually lost anything. The disappointment is that they had the opportunity to make it unique here and they didn't. They also had the opportunity to fix some of the horrific flaws that it has, the sides behind the tracks being the biggest one, in order to make the tank less terrible, but they didn't do that either.

The real question is why didn't they do anything interesting with it - giving it a bigger gun, or even an autoloader, for example, go crazy.

I should clarify that I don't think it lost anything because it never had anything to begin with. It went from a bad tier 8 to a bad tier 9, a worse vk100 to a worse mauschen.

Using the exp example, it has 43mm of side armour which should autobounce anything below 130mm guns, the exp itself has a 120mm gun so should not be able to pen its own side until it is angled at less than 70° with AP. Instead, it can pen itself at 89°, because shooting through the tracks gives -20°, at which point you're shooting an AP shell at 43mm of armour angled at 69° (and AP will then ignore 5° of this on top of that), which is extremely easy for any tier 8 to pen you through.

You keep saying tier 6 hull but it doesn't have a tier 6 hull. The armour isn't as good as I would like, but it is functionally irrelevant due to this mechanic.

If this wasn't a mechanic, you would be able to angle like this and your side would all be at autobounce - instead it is the easiest pen in the world anywhere along the tracks. This tank suffers more than usual because they take up half of the side.

I wanted to add more positive views, the late night matchmaker in NA allowed us to have one platoon in a game and even two platoons on the same side. So we were finding games much easier than when the people in the que were seemingly low on previous MM. Like the numbers were so low I would give up on playing in a platoon and then give up waiting in que.

I think this treasure chest is bugged. It has been this way for a while. I keep getting 3 crew xp rares. Which every single one of them to this point generally gives you 3 items. So it might be 3 xp then 50k then free xp. But the absolute end item on the list it is only 1 item and boosters at that and the same boosters every day? It is called Extra day's supply.

So the matchmaking has improved by maximizing the number of auto-loaders. But as a result, the matchmaking is finding or matching some really weird combinations.

3 auto-loaders vs 0
2 vs 1
4 with Platton vs 3
etc. Also, I think tanks of the same tier should be matched like:

2 Tier 10 HTs vs. 2 Tier 10 HTs
2 Tier 9 HTs vs. 2 Tier 9 HTs
And not 3 Tier 10 HTs, but rather 2 Tier 10 and 2 Tier 9 HTs.

This, in turn, caps the number of auto-loaders at more than 4 per side. TDs must also remain at 3 per side; this can now be easily balanced out by the auto-loader adjustment.

7 years at this game and mm has always been an "issue" no matter how many "fixes" are applied. I never get my hopes up when there's mention of mm balance.

If the mm is wonky, just play and adapt. Btw the auto loader clip reload sound isn't very nice, thought my speakers were glitching first time I heard it. The devs have been great at the graphics, camos and stuff, but when it comes to sound, not so much, been a fail since the sounds were changed years back including the wonderful 152 gun sound.

It is true, they have a whole set of offers that are catered to us, as buyers. Kind of like well if they spend 1.00 then they will probably spend 10, and age of user, and amount they play, and when the last time they logged in, etc. I am sure where i have bought silver that is maybe a factor as I am more likely to value silver over everything.
They have years and years of this data from thousands of people.
So don't look at it like it is personal, more than you are a wotb player. But rather a potential to want a deal and to try to fit it to what you want.

For this shop item, I am not seeing any incentive to buy something at random, when we could spend the same to get a tank we actually want. Drop them down about 5 bucks off and see how well they do. Then that eases the burden of the unknown. Or at least add equipment already paid for.
Plus the shop tanks already come with a camo, and you arent getting that with the random tank.
I mean correct me if I am wrong about this, but Not sure why anyone would want to get stuck with a tank they hate. Especially if you can get doubles, and then you get half the gold or silver worth?

No I have, that is what I am trying to get through well I guess to you because you aren't getting it. I have been through and at least bought two outright and a few others I went in hard just to see.
I mean it says those numbers but show me some people winning it early and I will reconsider. I have heard of a couple winning the main tank before they get the skin, but it hasn't ever been right out of the gate tank, because why would anyone at that point buy more into the draw.
It is worded that chances increase on what you don't have yet. I see the rates.
We been discussing it on reddit and I know better than playing at this point. I am not participating in this draw.
I did for the ATAC as the dollar number was calculated. It was a fair price I thought. I also did the BZ176. Both were last.
I don't think anyone goes into these thinking they will actually have a chance at getting the tank early. Most know that you are going to get free xp booster or one of those first. And it goes on and on like that throughout the draw.
You pay more for the end rolls and that is why you won't ever get it early.

Yeah, the odds are just super stacked in the " house " favor with draws.
It starts infinitely small; and back when they first came out, I tried some draws - early days that they had them - it was always like the last box or one but last box that got the prize.

I gave up after that.

Now there's a whole number of extra tries in there, with tiles that needed to be completed, 2x 3x ... and it just is not worth it to many people.

Okay you get a loot box ... that again is unlikely to yield a prize. Or you get some in game goods that have little value to a lot of people.

So I have a guy that just joined our clan, under 400 battles. I go to platoon with him. I have about 4500 games. I wonder is it related to him having the under 1k special matchmaking?
I have an alt I used for this that has about 1k games so fresh out that base MM, I still get bot matches occasionally. We sat in que for about 2 min tier 5 still couldnt get match.
So the solution is to let them play solo.

What should be done about getting players to play tier 9. It's really bad through the night for toon. I also remember day of patch we had really good MM and several times platoons on one side or the other. Whereas now if we are in a platoon and there isn't one we just sit in que forever. The Heavy Tank MM change is just for EU for now but if it works well there it can be brought to NA and EU. The restriction on magazine fed gun tanks is available in all regions but can be disabled if wait time increase. There are several other MM balancing requirements that also are softened if wait times exceed certain limits. Unfortunately, since NA has a smaller player base this may happen more often there.

Some years ago I questioned whether the new player MM requirement existed in NA. It was, but MM just doesn't work as well with smaller numbers in the queue. WG is monitoring and making adjustments to the new rrequirements. I hope it goes well. 🤞

Over two accounts as a new player in the last 5 months I have seen all the ques, given you can be split if you have someone you are tooning with over the thresholds. Up to 1k more bots. You still get them mixed in depending on que amount through 1500. Up to 5000 you can't get marks and you get a lighter MM they say but yeah slim ques are slim ques so it isn't always the case. Binu confirmed the 5000 thing.

Many of them are rewards for doing things such as watching a stream or are targeted at a particular group. I'll use whatever codes I find, but I'm not the target user on some of them.

There may be a budget involved too. The rewards for the mod competitions and cc giveaways have a budget of sorts; only x number of certain tanks, y amount of gold, etc. Although it's virtual, games have their own economy and spending on giveaways affects everything else. Too much and the reaction pack isn't so valuable anymore.

So I did it i ponied up the money for the titan special where you get a guaranteed titan tank and 10 boxes. I only had 1 titan tank so my odds seemed pretty good. I mean I know I can receive a dup but surely it wouldn't happen right? Surely. Surely it did give me a Dup. As if that isn't bad enough you get half of the value of the tank, like you are the one selling it. So yeah I paid 5k for it when I bought it, spent money and essentially bought it again to get half the value.
Just before I get reminded it says it on the tin, that isn't my point. My point is I feel like I just got ripped off twice. And OFC the 10 boxes didn't drop anything of note either.
