No. The narrative is set. A few tiny things like a different answer to a question in conversation are possible, but those are the only player choices and they don’t affect game outcome at all.
Random thought—if you got a couple baritones to sing Ghost Star while harmonizing and at a slightly slower speed, it would give “Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold” vibes
I would die. That would be so haunting
Just played through the Jedha story mission and all I want now is a Merrin spin off where I can go full Witch Zoomies
So I’ve said for a long time that Dagan Gera from Jedi: Survivor feels like a character from a medieval fantasy setting
And now I’ve written a ballad for a medieval fantasy version of Dagan 🙂
Hero Of My Own Story
Now you and I are allies, Knights of the same order bold
Charged to defend our homeland as was done since days of old
We both began our training young, but quickly proved our might
Both rose in rank and wordfame till we reached the greatest height
Together we faced dangers, slew those who would do us harm
Were many times that I would say you were my lucky charm
We trained together, you and I, sought strength and chivalry
But that won’t mean a thing when you brand my deeds devilry
You’ll tell me that I’ve lost my way
But I’ll say I’ve grown strong
I’ll say you have stagnated
But you’ll swear that I am wrong
I will rise up like a firebird
While you’ll burn in your own pride
You’ll call me a traitor
But it’s you who’ll change sides
The ancient ways we trained in altered not since days of yore
We hold to our traditions, just as has been done before
But is this wise, I wonder. Over time, should we not change
Lest our enemies destroy us with some weapon new and strange?
And so I seek the knowledge that our forebears once forbade
Some tradition for the safety of our kind seems a fair trade
But you look at me in horror when you realize what I’ve done
And you will not heed my reasoning—what can I do but run?
You tell me that I’ve lost my way
But I say I’ll grow strong
I say you have stagnated
But you swear that I am wrong
I will rise up like a firebird
While you burn in your own pride
You call me a traitor
But it’s you who changed sides
Alone I wander now, lands once familiar, strange they seem
As though without you by my side, I walk a twisting dream
Again and still again I ask myself, how can this be?
We wanted the same thing—so why has my friend turned on me?
Then whispers reach my ear one day—some enemy within
Has slaughtered or sent running all the knights I once called kin
And more, they were a master of the art, the very same
That for studying, you cast me out and laid curse on my name
You say that I have lost my way
But I say I’ve grown strong
I see you have stagnated
But you swear that I am wrong
I have risen like a firebird
While you’ve burned in your own pride
You call me a traitor
But it’s you who changed sides
What good now is your righetousness
Your pride and vanity?
Your knights lie slain and scattered
But the fault lies not with me!
Had you heeded me, we may have stood
Together ‘gainst your foe
But you only doomed yourself
And let their trickery lay you low
So mark me as the villain
In your tales of history
I know my truth, and that’s enough
Yes that is all I need!
Tell them all how I abandoned you
And fled into the night
Always know, that had you stood by me
You may have won that fight
You tell them that I lost my way
But I know I grew strong!
I saw you had stagnated
But you swear that I was wrong!
I shone on like the firebird
From the ashes of your pride
But when we’ve been dead for centuries
Who cares who changed sides?
When we’ve been dead for centuries
Who cares who changed sides?
This is some fabulous work! You should post it on AO3 if you haven’t yet 😍 we don’t get to see poetry in fandom nearly as much as we should. This really captures his obsessive qualities perfectly
Good stuff
Bode was nothing but a traitor....😠
Well, yes and no. He was a traitor, but I get it
The lesson Star Wars media seems to be leaning towards is that a person is the sum of everything they have ever been or done.
The good cannot negate the bad, but the bad also cannot negate the good.
Which is not to say that Bode did not need to be stopped.
Just that the whole picture should be in one’s mind whether one’s mouth is calling him “traitor” or “father”.
I wouldn't have done what he did, but I understand why he did it.
Which is what I want out of a character.
I understand it, but it does not redeem or justify him in my mind
Though I think he (in-universe) pisses me off so much because his MO is the same as Palpatine's, though on a smaller scale
Befriend the hero, earn their trust, then destroy everything they hold dear to get what you want
Also that he could have taken the compass and run without killing Cordova, telling Vader where to find Cere, and nuking the Hidden Path
His best path to a safe future for his kid was to side with Cal and the Hidden Path even harder
But that's a hard thing to accept when you've watched the Jedi get absoluely destroyed due to their own hubris.
Also, let's say things went to his plan--that's him and his kid completely alone on the planet for the rest of their lives
What kind of life would that have been for Kata?
Also also, I admit, I'm not a parent, I can't know what having a kid does to one's priorities
But it makes me so angry that Bode was so ready to nuke the Hidden Path, which is dedicated to helping countless other kids like Kata, just to protect Kata.
When the Hidden Path wasn't hurting him or Kata
I could understand it if the Hidden Path was an active or direct threat to Kata but he could have gotten what he needed and then left them alone
I think you need to look at the Jedi Order and the Empire to understand why he does what he does.
The Jedi Order was completely dismantled and everything related to them was another blood trail for the Inquisitors and ISB to follow. He was deep in the Imperial spy network and saw what they did and how they did it.
He had every reason to believe that Cal and the Gang would draw attention to Tanalorre if left to their own devices and keep looking for it no matter how hard he sabotaged them.
He had no reason to believe Cere and Cordova could stop the Empire because they already hadn't. He seemed to legitimately like Cal and probably hoped he would do well - somewhere else without access to Tanalorre.
There really is something sad about this game after you beat it and finish every side quest and all of the people in pyloons saloon that joined throughout the game start booking it after the star destroyer appears above koboh.
Finally got to start this game after a laptop death, and...
It should just have a little bit of letterboxing, right?
It should jsut give you a bit of letterboxing.
Which is unfortunate but...
Unfortunately no, for whatever reason this machine is deciding to zoom the 1080 to fit the 1200. I can letterbox it but then I see the OS outside the game window and that's a bit suboptimal.
It's fine, really just the UI gets chopped when meditating or using the workbench. The vibes of the game are immaculate regardless.
