Just a suggestion to the dev teams hopefully somebody sees this: The Raid is great but the loot is not. I think more talents exclusive in the raid that add more build diversity in the game is the best way to address the loot. Or maybe better versions of pre exiting talents. That way the loot table is endless instead of looking for one exotic AR.

Which can explain every single encounter and what build/skill to use

Emphasis on survivability (either through skills or armor/health), maximizing DPS for builds, and using utilizing recalibration to min/max the best you can. The first boss is definitely a DPS test and is there to see whether the raid squad is on the same page communication wise. I think a good test to "train" for the raid is to try and finish a heroic mission with 3 players that plan to raid and finish within a time limit. But even then, its no guarantee. Suggest watching some raids on twitch or youtube to understand the mechanics since a simple description here won't do any justice to what's going on on each stage.
You can also pace yourself and tackle the raid in stages (ie just do boss 1 in one session, boss 2-3 in another, etc). Or you can just try to do the whole thing in one setting if your raid has the time. Its really up to you
Also the biggest change in raids is you only get 1 revive, and 2 armor kits. So mistakes are punished a lot more compared to missions and compound faster

devs heard people were lacking in exotic components to "upgrade" their eagle bearers so they made the merciless useless so you could scrap it. It was in their plan.
But it won't really affect speedruns that much anyway. Probably add another minute but honestly you don't need it. Problem is lfg demand it because that is the direction the wind is blowing on that day.

I havent tried the raid yet because i have been in the game for 20 days but i think i have a good built to give it a shot. 200k armor 100k health 30%weapond dmg 30% assault rifle dmg and 66% dmg to elites (that can be 77 if i drop health to 80). i think a lot of people underestimate the power of tip of the spear too an other skills in the fights. we ran one guy with pulse with spear an the bonus DPS sped things up phenomenally. not to mention having one high skill player in hard wired droppin heal bombs allowing us all to use other dps orientated skills instead of the current heal drone+rez hive meta

Tip of the spear is literally the only reason I run the raid anymore. Not because its BiS or even becasue it competes with our berzerker overlords, or the nemesis HS monsters, but because it looks like fun.

running tip of the spear since week 2 with one character i can say so much: it definitely helps the raid but its squishy to play as its really hard to get armor/health rolls on it without crippling your dmg output. the pulse on kill is nice for solo play but in raid the pulse needs to be equipped. 2nd slot chem.heal as otherwise you will bite the dust.

as far as i know: as soon you break the hidden armor barrier: yes. if all run AR then you got a high combined burst dmg to speed things up. but my experience with random raids is: the coordination and playstyle cant be compared with a clan-teams effectiveness.

p.s. two aces of eights (1 per sub-group), both on the oversight positions @4 and 3, would buff AR builds way more than lmg builds. tho the gain would be conciderably bigger
add 1 tip of the spear ar build and youre maximizing the output
also many AR builds totally miss the dmg gain due to saving one reload every 2nd cycle by running steady handed (assuming a spotter/ropes-build).

Yes, I agree, having a mic, a decent english, and discord is all you need to enjoy raid in lfg discord. I tried as a noob raider, beat boomer and got kicked razor ๐ because I donโt have mic and donโt know shit what to do on razor. So... how am I suppose to know if I canโt play once? One time is all I need to understand, same as previous bosses. Anyway you gona say get yourself a mic and move on, well I wont man, I am just not confortable talking english, and I am not the only one. In same page you gona say other people are not confortable neither to play with you , without mic, in raid. I agree, thats why matchmaking is different. Yes, is gonna be a mess half people no mic there, we gona take 8h to do it, but I can learn it and do it without mic in future, now is impossible. If you just take the min requirements (worldtier 5 and 490 ilvl) i can promise you, you would wish they delete matchmaking, because you will get more frustrated with random matchmade grps than with premade grps. And i cant understand your aversion against voicechat. Find a community/clan and/or nativespeaker in your language. Of course, you can do a lot of things (including the raid) without voice, if the guys play perfect and have a great experience, but that would mean itยดs a premade group and playing over a longer time together OR the raid got totaly nerfed that most people could brainafk clear it.

LFG should be at that point now where a couple of players can be carried if they know their role at the end boss.

And the biggest problem with matchamking isnยดt the voicechat, but to define the parameters, like iยดve written. I mean if you're gonna play with randoms, the easiest way to get into the club is just use your mic. You just need it for basic callouts on the chunguss and can use push to talk so other people won't have to hear what you have in the background

I understand mic requirements on raids. What if you aren't ready to get on generator and others are still sittit on it. You might end up being the only person able to call computers on Boomer. Takes longer to call for help without a mic. For me mic isn't a hard requirement but it helps me zero in on you when your corner is struggling and we're trying to figure out why. I'm at the point where capturers need mics 90% of the time.

My build has got me to Razoor back but I need a little more punch to my AR to be able to complete final boss. Communication is the key to the whole raid though and learning from failure.

Find other new raiders with similar interests such as yourself. In an experienced run, you will likely slow the group down and that isnโt what the average experienced group is looking for. You might argue โ but I raid in other games and Iโm a fast learnerโ, itโs what they all say and itโs irrelevant. Find a few guys first that are also new to raids then maybe youโll find some exp guys that wonโt mind filling out the squad

I lead a raid team in a smallish clan, and I don't mind taking new raiders - we can carry them and help them learn, and get them ready for future raid content

Atm your problem isnt the experienced groups wont take you. Its that you put your time and effort to get into raiding by looking in the majority experienced group lfgs. Pikachu face they wont take a non experienced person for a full clear. Try clans or going with other players on a similar experience level as yourself for better results.

Start your own group. Call it progression and do it with 7 other people in the same boat as you. Might even get some experienced people that will help out. Thereโs been more than enough people Iโve seen complain about the same thing, you can definitely fill a group with

It WAS a glitch, Merciless wasn't penetrating armor in the beginning. It became a bug after a patch, it was mentioned nowhere that Mercilles is supposed to penetrate armor. I understand, it sucks that you had fun with it, it could have been a feature, but it was unintended.

so yea, although I didn't notice it tuesday after the patch when we cleared, today when I had a slightly lesser group overall, I def noticed some things different about the raid
boomer was healing half a bar per tick of his heal, for sure more than prepatch
the defensive pylons at times came up much sooner than expected, but it wasn't consistent
I noticed a lot more bugs I haven't seen before as well, one time I was standing in front of boomer when he was getting up to nade the turret, and he just meleed me and didn't disable the turret, so we downed him again
a couple other times he threw the nade at a player and not the turret
one time he kept aggro on someone that was downed and was getting up through his hive reviver
overall just wonkier

Iโve noticed all those mechanics normally, randomly can happen sometimes. He likes to kill downed people getting revived. The heal might be higher but they also limited the damage you can do per down which is quite dumb.

I've had a 60% hazard protection build with patience. Worked pretty just tanking buddy and keeping his agro focussed on you. Was no where near optimized but did the job. This was before the change though.

All I know is that you only get gear set loot once a week per boss/character.. But some people are saying that you have a 1% chance for the EB to drop even if you have done the raid...

1% chance per boss the first time you beat them. So you only get one chance for it a week. On top of the 10% chance from the chest at the end. You can run it for the first time up to 4 times a week if you have 4 different agents. Fairly sure thats the limit for an account anyway

Can you outrun Buddy's cannon BTW, like other robo dogs? With regular dogs you can just dance around them in circles and their cannon cannot move fast enough
