I can play with dx11 but then I'll have to lock the FPS to 30 if I don't wanna jump around 35 to 60fps
If I play in Dx12, I can get a stable 60fps for the same settings, except it starts getting all stuttery lag spiking after 20minutes

Well I never had problems in TD1, but TD2 crashes for me so... As for DX12 it does not stutter for me either which makes me a little curious 😉

As for the dx12 stuttering it's not an uncommon issue. What is more confusing to me is that it shouldn't be happening to me, it's an AMD card, they seem to be more stable than nVidias performance on dx12. At least that's what I've heard

Whatever works best for you I guess. I just tend to add the entire (Ubisoft) folder as this prevents it from interfering with all of it x'D (Just in case of some stupid situations.)

so i added the folder to security exclusions, even though i dont like that how ever lets look at the results:
being in the start menu of the game it consumes now between 3 to 4gb with in the game it self it also looks way better it uses like up to 6gb

I have the Ruthless and Lullaby. I noticed that neither could be junked which was fine because I didn't want to junk them. However, I placed them in the stash and then was messing around in the menus and I clicked 'x' for more options. In there it said junk all items, so without thinking about the consequences I click it. It ended up junking the Ruthless and Lullaby. Now I cannot unmark them as junk. There is no unmark all as junk and the the unmark as junk button is grayed out. I then tried to deconstruct them, but could not. They are now sitting in my stash forever to be junk.

Yup. GPU Drivers are updated. Could it be that I may have installed some dodgy software way back then and that affected the PC performance as a whole, mainly affecting a certain graphic setting used exclusively by the Snowdrop engine?

I get something similar, but it kinda levels out for me after a while. So it starts dipping within the first half an hour, but then it eventually evens out. I don't know if this will work for you, but I find grouping with others in a mission seems to iron things out for me.
Though, I should mention it never sticks to a fluid 60. It dips back and forth between 45-60, but mostly stick to 55ish.

Also I just checked, RX560X is about 10 to 40fps behind RX590 for the highest settings in most games, I'm synthetics, it's 300% slower, so if 590 can run at highest, 560 should be capable to run at medium (in theory)

Dude, the geometry in some areas are outright questionable, there was a train wreckage I forgot exactly where, so you can't take cover because a bed mattress is lying on the floor and it won't let me snap at the edge of the train door 😂

Don't do drugs, is what I'd tell your PC, try playing on windows 7 compatibility mode and use DX11
Check GPU drivers, make sure you're using you discrete GPU as well

i assume Div 2 make loads more draw call as usually there are just soo many objects in the environment, that's why Div 2 uses more CPU then Div 1 where most things were basically covered with snow. Hence also DX12 is very useful and most people getting more performance out of DX12.

In the screenshot you can see that the tree textures havent loaded in; some lag spikes have stopped, but its still there, and i cant run this on any setting beyond Ultra Low, to keep the framerate stable without major lag spikes and texture loading in the middle of the game.

@sudden hawk I tried the fixes. Its not the framerate or perfromance issue. Its the fact that textures load in whilst im playing; making the game

The spikes you see in the Zone 4 FPS area, are what I'm talking about, barely anything rendered in these regions, and thats what caused the game to force all those elements and textures to load in, which caused the spikes.

Bread, I know what you mean, currently I'm having to choose either zone4 fps drops with Dx11 or atrocious freeze frame stutters throughout after few minutes of gameplay with DX12
So I am playing Dx11 frame capped at 30 with tweaked high settings lol, it's a lot more manageable and I get to see good gfx 😂 😂
Also, I decided to use Riva Tuner to cap my fps and not the in-game frame capper, feels a loooooooot smoother

@sudden hawk btw I check using Afterburner's OSD, RAM is definitely not the issue, it stays 5-6gbs at most throught the game play
It most probably is SSD for my case
Because when my GPU goes 100% it's just a fps drop, not a stutter
And cpu goes 100% only for a fraction of second and has no correlation to when the game does a lagspike, as in the game lag spikes even if the cpu is at 70% and GPU is 90%

it means that in windows command prompt you go to the path where the 2 files are. and then you type the filename /uninstall
it should prompt you to repair of uninstall the corrupted one you got

you don't have to take anything, but apparently it fails to install for you. There have been at least 2 ppl i know of io this forum that had exact same problem at startup and they solved it by reinstalling these 2 files. Only yours gives an error, which was probably the reason it didn't install properly when installing the game, only at that time it didn't give you eroor message because it was being installed as a package...

For anyone that got frequent game crash to desktop If you're overclocking your CPU then try to disable or restore it to default speed. This work for me so far from crash after 5-30 mins when in game now 3 hours and counting still not crash or freeze once.

@barren bobcat I am running a Ryzen 1800x OC to 3.9, and experiencing CTDs every 30-45 minutes. OC is stable on every other game I play. I heard D2 was quite CPU intensive so decided tonight I was gonna reduce the OC. Glad to hear that helped your issue.

the texture resolution or whatever it is called is default on 256 on her pc tho, whilst on mine with ssd it was on 512

I found there's a temporary fix to stutters, it's helping a bit on my side
I use AMD so I used raedom setting software thingy to override anti aliasing and I'm using MSAA x4 instead. It seems to be working

@keen estuary So basically your game is running fine. As for the CPU usage there are multiple things. 1) there are bugs which likely cause high usage. 2) mine does the same the higher the streaming distance, which means it is likely waiting for data to be loaded from the drive. (which keeps the cpu occupied!)

It goes from 60-70 FPS to freezing for about 2-5 seconds, and then right back to 60-70.

@sudden hawk DO NOT UPDATE AMD RADEON SYSTEM SOFTWARE. Game began to crash at launch. Some how I was able to revert back to the the old version. Back in the game after 2 hrs of troubleshooting.
