if you can't do a little bit of work without copying or looking something up, you're not learning well. you should be learning by doing.

reading books was mentioned; Im an old fart who learned to code from books - I think its a great way to learn
but yes, you should be doing some kind of project, and building something. Just watching a bunch of brakeys isn't the way

Well it depends on how well made the tutorial is, but really what's important is looking at tutorial for specific mechanics, rather than following 1 on 1 a tutroial to make an entire game
