#Electric Guitar model (WIP!!!)
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
my progress as of today (i'm already too tired to continue so i left it as it is
Looks epic 🔥
ty
bends on the deck and fretboard were hell to make
haha lol
what a coincedence
also a cort?
the guitar in the photo is cort
do you have cort too?
or just the same formfactor?
nice
i think i'll remake the neck tmrw
it seems easier than to fix all the problems i now see after the shower
Oooo looks awesome
I rather love forms than companies
Strats my beloved
Les Pauls are also cool tho
Can‘t really say, i didn’t have my guitar for long enough to even properly grasp the difference
I just know that they work differently
Damn i have so much to do once i‘m home
I should completely remake the neck
It’s geometry 1) sucks ass and 2) it‘s not modeled properly
By 2) i mean that the head is too much to the right
My? Lemme think
Smth around 320 euros
What is your friend playing?..
Zamnn
The sound must be fire
Hahaha
Yeah
Had an acoustic like that
I‘ve started with it actually
Only like 40 bucks lmao
It was so ass
holy shit
mad respect
looks pretty good
my fucking god why is this fucking neck so hard to make
i'm literally re-making it from ground zero cuz somehow my normals got all messed up and i gave no idea how to fix that
fucking hell
honestly the longer i work on this one the more problems i see in it
who let yesterdays me cook
i would honestly just delete it but i can't take making all of these bends all over again
so i'm gonna finish it at least as it is for now
and maybe my next project will be better
this is my most hated project as of today.
i make so much progress and learn to make some of the best topology i can to this date, fix my mistakes and all, BUT i fucking forget to add some smallest mf detail and when i finna notice it - it's already beyond the rabge of reverting everything with 'ctrl+z' and will consume HOURS to fix
oh my fucking god
this one is the most frustrating yet
anyways at the very least i mostly fixed the neck, just gotta tweak it tmrw
Aww ty guys so much, it‘s really pleasing to hear. Imma go work on the neck a little before i go out and send the result here
i finna fixed this bish🔥🔥🔥
the clays with subdivision applied (smooth and curvy)
the topology behind the curves
phew
i'd also fix some of the deck topology but it works way better than the previous iterations of this mf neck so i'll leave it in peace
now i just gotta finish the whole model and render it
progress as of today
still got the bridge and some smaller details to go
but in general i think the modeling part is around 80% done
a slightly better look at the deck
oh shit i just remembered that i will have to uv unwrap this bish
Damn dat looks nice
Thank you guys for the support! I’m a lil busy this week tho so there’s a chance i will update the progress quite rarely
imma prob stream some of mz process on vc, if anybody is interested - please join
Thats a smooth model ngl
finally finished with the tuning pegs (for today) ((they were absolute hell to make, i didn't feel the proportions of them and still messed them up a lil)). i'm gonna tweak them a little the next time i have this opportunity, so they actually look like they should do
Slightly disruptive message/activity detected, please relax with your messages
leave me alone bruh
thats my blog
Holy shit i’ve just looked in the mirror and my eyes are BLACK
literally
I’m a mf panda rn
I didn’t even notice how tired i’ve become while working
holy shit if this one doesn’t turn out to be a complete banger i’m gonna become a fortnite tryhard
Also would indeed be nice to see someone who actually knows what’s he doing and rate my works
Cuz other way i can’t understand what am i doing wrong smh
adjusted the tuning pegs a little so they are in the right position, added both bridges and tweaked smth else (can't remember what). So far the Guitar looks like this
next time gonna add the tremolo, the jack-port and the strings
and some other smallest of details that i forgot to add
isn't there supposed to be cingle dots on 3rd fret 5th fret 7th fret 9th fret?
I may be misremembering how solid bodies are set up
I have an acoustic myself
yes, i do have them also, i just put them so close to the fretboards surface that they stopped rendering at such distance. Imma make them a little higher next time i‘ll be working on it
To whoever put the ✨ on this thread: thank you
got unsuscribed from my own topic bruh
anyways imma workin again
gotta finish the model today and finna start working on texturing
update: the model is almost done! just gotta look up the tutorial to put strings on this one and can proceed to texturing
so uhh i'm in the process of putting strings on this bish but uh... yeah. it gives too much of artifacts in the process. done using the curve modifier. does anybody know a better solution/how to fix those artifacts??
aight enough for today, must wake up early tmrw
Honestly can’t wait for this model to be finished and rendered
I‘m even bringing my laptop to school tmrw just to work on it in the spare time
I feel like i‘m cooking something magnificent with this one
(Despite it having a bunch of artifacts)
In fact it was real this whole time
I tricked all of you into thinking it was a 3d model i made 😔😔
Also it’s technically possible but i ain’t making that
Finished the strings during classes, i’ll send the results later this evening
Also might retopologise the deck since the booleans messed it up quite a bit and it’s causing troubles during texturing
Bro I think you put too much effort on the strings would that be even visible ?
yes.
In all seriousness tho i try to put as much effort into details as possible so that when i actually NEED to work them through or make something similar to what i did with them - i will already know how
It’s my way of learning things
aaaanddddd the clay is finished!!!
(i'm still retopologing the deck tho, it causes too many issues)
Ayy i saw you getting started with blender on #💫-show-off
Nice
How’s it going for you so far?
Nice nice, let me know when you’re finished
ok so let`s see
i was doing retopo for 4 hours
i'm not completely finished but the general idea can already be seen
the 'before' - messy tris, awful bevels and booleans that fuck the whole thing up
the 'after'
still a bit messy but in general i find this one better
ima rework it a lil tomorrow since i'm already beyond the point where i can make efficient decisions
i finna did some semi-proper retopology!
the center could use some more work but i already did great imo so i can't be bothered
the model is already taking too long to finish
I DID IT ™️
holy shit
its not perfect but its so far the best topology i did since i've started
all nice, semi-clean and working
it looks smth like this when subdivided and i find it beautiful
it looks so much better than what i've started with
mega proud of myself
also did a quick pickguard retopo cuz it also sucked
we cookin materials for this bish 💪💪💪
all of them are procedural btw
ima tweak them a lil more later, now ima gone to sleep
Looking really good, keep it up
Ayy thanks mate
how do u learn making procedural materials ? nodes so complicated
In all honesty - i have no idea
They are in fact complicated
I an still far from doing mega-complex mats myself but somehow i manage to make my own mats
Trial and error method ig
most of the textures are now finished
heck yeah
just want to tweak the metal since it looks a lil blunt in comparison with everything else
and add some text on headstock and tumblers
but overall i consider it finished
i'll post the renders here when i'm ready to do so
oh yeah also here's the referenced guitar since i've changed my mind midway
the structure is a little different cuz i want to make some color variations later and i made it closer to the strat i had myself

just a message to return the topic to my bookmarks
finally rendering the final pieces, i'll post the results a lil later
after almost 2 months of work - this guitar is finally ready
also some alt lighting renders
phew
now i just gotta post it to my portfolio
Thank you guys! Happy to know all the struggle was worth it in the end

sick
I wanna see the topology
It should be somewhere here
Like a lil higher
If not - i’ll send the screenshots in a bit
I saw it, it looks not horrible, I feel like some of the topology looks a bit messy and maybe too dense in some places. But compared to some of the original topology amazing.
Ikr
I don’t say it’s perfect but it is some amazing progress for me
Yeah I haven't made a model in quite some time but the last thing I was trying to learn in terms of modeling was good topology, I never got amazing at it but I definitely improved
Yeah what i’ve learned during the process already has helped me quite a bunch
I did the Bagels plushie model some days ago it was much quicker and easier now
And the topology looks quite good too
It’s rather simple ofc cuz it’s like
Just a torus
Let me go find this bagels plushie
But it still has some moments
It looks good
Looks awesome dude!
Ty!
