C# is probably your best way to go right now. C++ might seem a bit difficult at the beginning, but is very good later on if you want to work on a low level.
Java is also fine, I'm making my own game in Java with OpenGL right now. C# and Java are in fact almost the same, but afaik Unity uses C# and JS or something along that for scripting.

GameMakerStudio is a great Engine and uses GML, their own scripting language, to build games.
GML might be a bit easier in the beginning to get more basic games done and especially fast prototypes.

Otherwise, go for C# and Unity.
