The game’s progress looks incredible, and I love that the weather station is finally in the game. But there are two issues that have really bothered me:
I’ve spent several hours this afternoon playing, and when I finally reach Golden Apple, the first thing I think is that I want to explore it (especially since I’ve spoiled myself a bit and I know the weather station exists), and I’m excited to find it. What happens? The Guest is lurking — and that’s not the bad part. The bad part is that if he catches you, you have to start the whole process from zero. And of course, after hours of playing, I know perfectly well how to shorten the gameplay process, but it’s exhausting. Wanting to see the most interesting part of the game only to start over again knowing it could happen again: at that point I closed the game.
I completely understand that the Guest kills you when he catches you — it fits his story and personality perfectly. But I would really like him not to appear immediately when I reach the amusement park. What I mean is: if I arrive at the amusement park, I’d like to explore it without him spawning right away and forcing me into a mental game of “where do I go so he doesn’t catch me”.
In other words, it’s great that the Guest kills you because it fits his character, but he shouldn’t spawn instantly every time I leave the city. That sums it up.
The problem is that when we approach the forest, the guest always appears immediately, which is frustrating.
Aside from that: the city, the connection to the lore, the locations — they’re incredible. And I love the progress being made in development. Thank you.
