The pre-alpha is good, but chases are still so barebones, I havent noticed any improvement since proto 1 except for the dragging, they still just walk trough doors and such, and are way too fast. I've also experienced them seemingly knowing my exact location in a building all of a sudden. I think it's sad because this is a pretty fundamental part of the game, atleast in my opinion, I hope it will improve in future builds. I personally believe this should be more of a priority, since it is a pretty large part of the game, especially the pre-alpha. (this is mostly copy and pasted from a steam post I made)
#The stealth and chases with AI's is just not fun.

at least you're not also chased by lawnmovers
yeah and they also know where you are at all times
all the npcs have really bad issues but its a prealpha so we need to give it some time
if this doesnt get fixed before beta then that could be an issue since right now it kind of makes some areas unplayable
THIS!
Oh yeah I forgot about this but I've often just been caught inside a hiding spot... and this could be the AI's checking the spot? But I don't think this is intentional, they sometimes just walk right into drawers or closets and take you, even if they shouldn't know you're in there. I went into a closet when the AI was on a whole different floor (museum) and she just walked into the closet, immediately dragged me out and threw me out a window.
Honestly AI and Stealth are my absolutely biggest issues rn
Its just not fun to play against in pre alpha
i dont think closets are hiding spots
at least yet
try hiding inside boxes instead and just generally carry them around
Their speed is my biggest concern tbh
Theyre so fast I cannot process what im sopposed to do, when they catch you, theres no animation or anything between them catching you and starting to drag they just walk into you and suddenly youre being dragged and suddenly youre flying out a window and youre dead
