I've reset my game twice now and speed ran to the mansion and done all i can until i need to get the wrench to progress. ive gotten insanely close to the neighbor and didn't get a prompt nor does it show.. cant progress at all and was really enjoying the game

Hey! Could you confirm if you're on the final night or Act 4? Could you also share a video of it?

I believe it’s Act 4.. unless I just can’t figure out what’s next (without looking it up since all I’ve seen online is to grab the wrench from him) I might have to look up to see if I missed something else to progress.. I will get a vid once I get back home to play again

In Act 4, the wrench should be inside a book in the library. It's only in the final act that the Neighbor has it.

Please check a guide to confirm if this is working as intended.
