Hey - this is likely due to installed mods. Could you make sure you have none and give it another try?
Since you're certain no mods are present, this indicates a possible conflict between the game and your PC's environment.
Could you please try the following?
- Verify the integrity of the game files/reinstall
- Confirm if you have (or ever had) Oculus/Meta Quest software installed on this PC.
- Right-click the game in Steam > Properties > Launch Options, and type: -nohmd
If that fails, please provide me with your dxdiag.txt so we can investigate further.
i will :D
Yes, please type it exactly like that: -nohmd
Press the Windows key + R, type dxdiag and hit Enter. Then click Save all information and share the extracted file.
Thank you! Could you please try the following and let me know if any of them help?
- Temporarily switch to your monitor’s native resolution before launching the game
- Again, please make absolutely sure no mods are installed
- Try the steps listed here
- Run the Windows System File Checker: open Command Prompt as Admin and type
sfc /scannow - Ensure the Media Feature Pack is installed (especially if you're on Windows N versions)
- Temporarily disable Voicemod or other virtual audio software, as they seem to be causing errors in your system logs
Let me know how it goes!
will do now
hey so uuh nothing worked
i uninstalled voicemod
downloaded media thingy
did the steps
did sfc
and switched my res
but didnt work
This is a bit unusual and likely due to factors outside our support scope, such as driver issues. I noticed your GPU drivers are out of date — could you update to the latest version (595.79) and see if that helps?
Additionally, please try these steps:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Optional features. Click "View features" and search for Media Feature Pack. If it isn't listed as "Installed," please add it.
- Send over a screenshot from the game's installation folder Hello Neighbor > Engine > Plugins > Runtime.
okay
yo my bad
