First feedback after awhile, and this time I'm going to be focusing on the LE with some nice quality of life/additions that can be added to make making maps more fun and to grant map makers more freedom to be creative. I know it's not urgent but I'd like for holo to add some of these when they get back to SN.

First off: Spawn tweaks
Sometimes when making maps, I am discouraged from placing movable items or other things on shelfs and in drawers because of the automatic item placement. Which is why I think that in edit mode you can change spawn properties of a certain static props, things like:

  • Enabling/Disabling Key spawns
  • Enabling/Disable support item spawns (milk, chocolate, saucepan, glue)
  • Enable/Disable light spawn
  • Enable/Disable misc item spawn (books, flowers, whatever)
    However to also slightly branch off, i think that some properties could help replay value like:
  • Enable/Disable Keycard spawns (and if so, what specific level/levels.)
  • Enable/Disable randomized rifle spawns (Only be available in drawers/tables that can fit it.)

Speaking of replayability, next is general randomization. Back in the day of original SN doors randomly could be blocked off or boarded up (before the days of crowbar working) asking the player to find another way around. I think it could encourage more replayability if you could do these following things

  • Add a tweakable chance (0%/25%/50%/75%) for a door to be bricked up or made a keycard door (set to the player's liking). By default doors are left alone so players would need to go back and update.
  • Add a ability to tweak neighbor gates to have them have a chance not to spawn, I'm not sure how it'd handle the electricity, maybe the gate itself doesn't function and the frame is still there.
  • Add a tweak to walls and floors to have a chance for them to have a hole in them, either downright, boarded up, or bricked up.

I've already hit the nitro-less text limit. I'll see if i can extend this in the comments.

Third, event items. While I know it'd certainly increase map size, it would be nice to be able to add more puzzle elements to LE. Imagine if the mayak levers could be added to have a secret ending to a map, or the character detecting lasers from snow thief, or a special floor type that requires a shovel to dig into. It's much less a serious want and more so a 'if it can be added it would be fun'. Speaking of special floor types

Fourth, allow us to extend the map size to have a playable basement. Map 4's mechanic of being under the ground in the basement is a great idea I'm sure a lot of map makers would like to have in their own creations. I think it'd be something that the map maker would have to select to have just so all the maps wont jump in size.

Fifth, more toggleable textures/variants of things. It would be nice to have different textures/materials for chairs and couches, maybe even different door types like old wooden doors, rusted ones, and even the door leading to the first basement in Map 4. Just more things to add 'flair' to maps.

Sixth and probably more importantly, allow us to pick map sizes and weather. Some people's ideas go beyond the normal map limit and maybe they'd want to breach beyond the fence and go outside. It could work like this:

  • When making a map, the creator can select from normal and large. Large would be wider and taller and have the fence be extended outwards. To balance it out perhaps Large maps can't have the extended basement area underneath the map to prevent too large of a file.
  • A new gameplay modifier that could help is the ability to tweak weather types, like if you want your map to only be sunny with a slight chance of rain or nighttime only you could just edit it there. It could also be a treat if creators could even allow for snow to fall all year around for snowball fights even in the summer.

I hit the limit again, but I think I got all the main ideas. Let me know what you think! Imbirheart

Yeah, that. It's just kind of annoying to have to put like shelves and what not on the ceilings and walls if you don't want them portaling in.

Extending on, yet again, is to be able to change if Otto can use his Handheld Sonar to move gates/staircases/keycard doors or not.
I just really don't like if you make a entire puzzle and yet certain neighbors can just bypass it all cause of their special abilities

For Secret rooms could be puzzles needing to be done to grant access to the area. The puzzles being basically gates, parkour, and keycards since we have a lack of options. Yet, if the neighbor could just open the gates, that just ruins the whole point of the secret puzzle, which is meant to be actually found by doing the puzzle correctly.
