Across multiple platforms cheaters are a problem but primarily on steam. I propose a non anti-cheat solution. A system where players can apply to be an in game moderator and time out players which are then flagged as higher priority to real moderators. If they get multiple successful reports then they should be able to use a ban command. This is a completely free way to clean up the population of cheaters because the game would be moderated by its own playerbase meaning the moderators are more active. There are some potential issues with false bans/timeouts which I don't really have solutions for.
I suppose you could incentivise in game moderators with a cosmetic item of some description. Perhaps a patrol type badge or police type hat.
It's an open thread so this could be a bad idea or others could maybe build on it?
