Swapping items is a bit broken

There have be multiple instances when I've tried to swap out an item by picking up another, but when I pick up the new item then whatever I was originally carrying just respawns back to wherever I found it. (For example: When playing on Map 2, I found a key in the theater room and was going over to the supply closet but there was a chair in the way, and my inventory was full. So I went and picked up the chair to open the door but the key that I was holding didn't fall onto the ground as normal, and instead just respawned back in the drawer where I found it in.)

This bug isn't that bad if you stay in the room where you found the item, but it can get pretty frustrating after a few rounds... skill issue ig

So I pick up one of these pumpkins by the rear staircase, then walked over to the bedroom and swapped it out picking up a chocolate bar. But instead of falling in front of me, the pumpkin had respawned itself back to the exact spot from where I picked up
