When you get caught in HN2, I have a feeling that the game just did reset itself.
That just feels weird for some reason. The dragging system from the first HN2 Alpha is much better.

it had issues. In the current state of hn2, resetting the player and the ai is needed. Once he gets stuck for some reason, you wont be able to play further, only by reloading. Thats one of the reasons why the dragging without respawning is a problem
