#Question: Why couldn't hello neighbor stay as its original thought?

Ever since the early alpha 3, the game got more confusing, too complex, too cartoony. etc. Why did they change the whole game, when it was in it's pre-alpha to alpha 2 state, they recieved the best reviews, and it was a 2016-2017 sensation.

Yes, but why make a bunch of parkour, somehow nerf the ai, and making the neighbor not even a worry in the later games.

Bro watch out @olive plinth is gonna def come at you for this one 🙄 but it’s true they are basically making different games at this point they make a game about making makes no problem just slap hello neighbor on the name and we’re set

Either you are confusing me to someone else, or are you an alt to this person...

#

Because I've never asked tb to EVER make a hn game that is not related to it's concept as a whole

#

All I asked is for them to make a hn spinoff game or something that is ACTUALLY related to the concept on what hn is meant to be. Not a game where it's made for everyone else rather than the specific community that they need to target.

#

And if anything else, I'd rather have a new hn game that has the concept of hn or have no new hn game or media

#

Hell, I even loved the old builds of hn1 because on how simple yet accurate they are by design

Oh wait, I know who you are. You are that guy that I argued with months ago.

#

How serviceable of you to come here to this feedback and ping my name with your dim.

Last time i was here was over a year ago

#

But, the new games can be this or that, but I like to look at statistics. How popular and how liked was hello neighbor back in 2016-2017 compared to now

#

That should give you a pretty good answer

Miscommunication miscommunication lol

Then this is how it continued

#

And this was before you started to respond to me

I guess modern games being easy and simple is a better approach if done correctly.

Honestly I think we should enjoy hello neighbor for what it is, like not comparing it to pre alpha. And if you don't like hello neighbor, most people say it's because of the art style and how "bad" the ai is. The ai ain't even that bad, it's just the way tb made the houses and how fast Nicky is

I agree, but that's why I love the game! It's wacky, fun and a bit sad

#

They should make an old art full game

eager trench
#

there already are mods that do that so tinybuild doesnt need to do it though

quartz cairn
#

And all it changes are the actual houses and stuff like that

yeah i agree

Not anything dumb has to be a game mechanic at all

I get why they added parkour, but they couldve learned from it, especially in alpha 3, but nope, they kept on going. In alpha 4 and so on, the neighbor isnt even something to worry about. Those games defeat the whole purpose for what the game really is. A game, trying to avoid the neighbor, finding solutions to the basement, and getting in there. The basement was so mysterious back then, and it built so much curiosity for what would be in it. But at this point, the basement has been such a dissapointment. The best basement ending was in alpha 1, still built up suspense and curiosity for the average player wanting to come back to the game. Now the basement isnt even anything special.

#

When you have over 80% of the youtube community like jacksepticeye and markiplier back then complaining about the game for alpha 3 and so forth, that should be a big hint to change the game up a bit, maybe to ease back to how it was

#

In full on reality though, tinybuild really caused the rise and fall. Yes tinybuild did get it published and popular, but at what cost? if you ever look back into the early history for the development of the game, once tinybuild became part of it, things started to change. With their more friendly cartoony artstyle (Which is what we have today) and small changes to the game that would build up to big ones by the end of the game. I dont like to say tinybuild should've not chose tinybuild to publish their game, but then again, would the game be better? Would the game be truly, "Hello Neighbour!" And not "Hello Neighbor" ?

Cartoony stuff is very easy: They wanted to mkae more money by making it mainly for children, because children love that stuff

Noone believes that explanation lol

#

You dont believe that explination

granite rain
#

A lot of people have already said that it was an excuse

#

That style doesnt even fit a horror game lmao

#

The HN2 style on the other hand, although its still cartoony, looks much better and fits a horror game

#

Nikita had already mentioned it before if I remember correctly, Hello Neighbor 1 itself is not a horror movie, but rather a sad story disguised as a game.

#

tiny build is the one who always plants it as a horror game, to market it

It's obvious that there would be changes alongt the way of development, that's why Alphas are creasted - to test the game. But noone has ever asked to make the game less scary, and giving player more and more advantages to the player. To the point that Markiplier refused to play the full game.

Well hey every game changes artstyle so much why can’t they use old art for a game

#

i kinda agree

#

it feels unique

#

i mean

#

bendy ALSO has a cartoony style and it's not a bad game because of that

#

so it doesnt make hello neighbor a bad game because of it

quartz cairn
#

I think they just executed the game with the cartoony look poorly
