The characters in the HN franchise are pretty well written but it doesn't feel very appreciated in HN2 sure the Mayor might play piano and Otto may have a gun but apart from that there isn't much so i will go over each character
Keith - He doesn't really feel like an Officer does he? just wanders the place almost like he is just going to stumble on to something. Like standing on the porch or stumbling about the hall. He should interact with the environment more.
Overall: Takes pictures of the scene, Jots things down, reports on the radio (even in reaction to the players interaction with environment), Chases are direct and prolonged and after losing you actively searches and reacts to sounds better
Gerda - Probably the most confusing character. She rolls pastry then warms herself at the oven as if the place was cold pretty weird loop. And she even follows the player on the levels if Quentin is upstairs she will come up there making it really annoying trying to do the 3 puzzles up there
Overall: She should actually be baking and adding food to the shelf, a way for her to actually sell items say a customer comes in and orders changes her loop and make her bakery have a point to exist, Chases should not be direct but to try and force the player to move out of the staff area but becomes more forceful if the player refuses
Otto - Average loop needs more spice. Not much needs changing just not very appealing.
Overall: He's a hermit so he should be more attached to his home (Almost always interacting with environment Crafting, Target Practice, Inspecting Etc.), Chases should be slow paced with otto spotting you and not making himself obvious till the first shot (Increase the speed of the player when hit)
Mayor - Not busy enough. The Mayor is a.. a Mayor needs to do more stuff
Overall: Interact with Dog, Work in office, Talks on phone, Does many Mayor things, Chases should be fairly average (easier when in chase just harder to get him off you) will huv 2 make prt 2
