I really enjoy playing HN2, but I always felt it was missing something. Considering the fact that we’re playing as an investigative journalist, it would make sense if we were to collect evidence throughout the houses we explore.
Although, yes, we do collect evidence, I don’t think it’s enough, especially regarding the character we play as.
In HN2, Quentin goes to the houses, finds a key and leaves. Although I think this is enough, a feature where we collect evidence would be interesting as a sort of “side quest” feature.
How it would work:
When searching houses, Quentin could come across things like pieces of paper, pictures, old newspapers, images from the HN books or items such as Golden Apple coins.
These items will be marked off on some kind of list in-game.When Quentin finds an item, his watch will light up and tell him. This could be an opportunity to add the info watch notifications from the beta back into the game.
At the end of every night, Quentin’s board in the Raven Brooks Banner will be updated. Although this already happens, it could be more detailed and hold more story.
The pieces of paper could have writing and pictures, similar to the|| Beatrix newspaper|| found in the forest. Images could show characters interacting with each other, important/ lore relevant locations, story references or images from the HN books that new players may find interesting.
Collecting evidence wouldn’t be needed to finish the game, but it would be a fun thing to do on the side and add to onto the story.
Thank you! :-)
