In Night 1 new players generally expect the level to take place in the Museum when they go there. But get confused when they take the shovel and need to go to Bakery
That could be easily fixed with Bringing the Museum lock to the outside door and show the player that the Museum is fully locked and you need to find the key. And the shovel outside to trigger the cutscene and continue the game I made a mockup of how this would look

oh yeah the door being unlocked is a continuety error too
the game implies gerda already has the key by this point
so having the door be open makes no sense
No she gets it on day 2 you can see Keith giving it to her on the cctv cameras
i think Ted locked it, and left the side door of the Museum open and went to find Aaron. And while he was taking Aaron he accidently forgot the key at the house. Then Keith found it. And Ted went to the museum through the side door and boarded it from inside
And Keith gave it to Gerda
but this would work better if the door was locked with the outside door
it being on the cameras makes me think it happened way earlier

He can lock pick
he wouldnt just leave the museum door wide open
