Look at the plans for neighbor_car then look at what it became in FG
It was meant to be drivable by the neighbor (very unlikely to ever get readded), a repair task, you were able to sabotage it
and now they reduced it to a boring puzzle
tbf they reduced the entire game (act 1) to a boring puzzle
Yeah they made it way too much of a puzzle game i dont think hn2 should really focus all that much on puzzles more just the ai, stealth and the story
Litteraly nobody cared about the puzzles in hn1 and i doubt Many cares About hn2 puzzles Either not saying there shouldnt be puzzles i just Think they overdid it
The problem is what type of puzzles hn2 uses
The puzzle should be obtaining 1 specific thing, like alex in that 1 video said about like key and getting recourses that help you get it
And the ai really wanting it back n stuff
Imagine deep dive, you get the crowbar and leave museum, then in the night mr peterson just pulls up in his car and knocks you over to steal your crowbar
Sadly the game would be super short

and make it actually difficult
like deep dive having to repeat and try different things
Just change the museum puzzle more like beta
its not hard to remove the linearity tbh
the museum just needs a change then all houses can be unlocked

they could make a tutorial which ends up giving you the museum key
then every house is open including museum
Day 1 would still need to be linear because of saving Aaron cutscene

you actually had to get clues, half the game was actual investigation problably
Yeah the game got turned into something its not supposed to be late in development

which ai is the most suspicious
and might have what you need

I am still theorizing for an act 1 revamp, patch 10 might have been in development for a year at this point
a year is how long the full game took
so an act 1 revamp wouldn't be too far fetched

I love how often they still use old footage of hn2 in new hn devlogs
It feels like they know it was a better idea before so they still use older hn2 to advertise but they know thats not what the game is anymore
