The ability to co-create levels is one that I personally would enjoy throughly as a result of having friends which have a genuine collaborative goal in mind when we want to make levels, I think there's a lot to gain on the social aspect if players (or specifically just friends) would be capable of making stuff together - Think Dreams for PS4 or LittleBiGPlanet, you already have Gates and the sort I think there's a genuinely large opening for potential if it's affordable for the developers but at minimal the ability to just place the walls, floors, spawners and decoratory pieces with friends is a fair deal.

Alongside this I've got some other suggestions comes some things I think would really improve the editor for versatility and generally just rounding out things which can be QoL:

Undo Button - While I know Ctrl + Z acts as an Undo I think it's good praxis to have an undo button on the UI Interface itself, it's a little thing but it goes a long way at circumventing needing to test all the universally known inputs Windows and other OS' have.

Ability to place Consumables - For level design means, the ability to place Chocolate Bars or strategic Glue Jars would grant a lot of access to control the automated spawn experiences and allow for a player that edits and uploads frequently the ability to make a rotation of placement orders that aren't controlled by the Shelving/Key Spawner RNG system (Or whichever system it's based on), like with placeable Dart Guns it's just a lot of icing on the cake to have that.

Versatile Basement Door - I understand that Hello, Neighbour's roots are build on top of the basement being the primary access point to game completion but if you let a few exceptions slip you'll be able to have a greater range of Level Design options by allowing the editor to have the door on other floors, even at the highest point.
It opens a lot of doors (Pun intended) to unique game experiences both in entertainment and horror.
