Something that’s pretty bad for the AI on a stealth side is the fact the player can stay in a Closet for as long as they want, so here’s something that can be done:

A lot of people don’t realize that when you enter a Closet Quentin holds in his breath, you can hear it too, so what can be done is have it to where the longer your in a Closet the more blurry and distorted your screen gets due to not breathing before eventually Quentin will black out and fall out of the Closet before getting back up, the amount of time before blacking out I think should be 50-120 seconds.

This would both make the Games stealth much more tedious and would make the Game more realistic and unique.

I like your feedback but instead of making Quentin get a black out which is a bit unrealistic, the closet could work similarly to the hiding places in Friday the 13th the game that allows you to hold your breath for a certain amount of time by pressing space and therefore you have to manage your oxygen correctly so as not to get discover. the consequence of holding your breath too long would be to no longer be able to hold it and therefore pant harder than before. I hope I have translated my idea in the right way so sorry if I wrote strange things

I´m sorry to say, this would not help stealth.

This would just break a bit the game design. There´s other things that can be suggested to make the "stealth" better, not this.

I think this would EXTREMELY overcomplicate the games hiding system

They should just make it so that the AI can learn over time to predict if a player hid in a closet, making it more intense

If you are seen hiding in and around the same spot repreatedly, the AI will learn to check that closet

What's wrong with camping in a closet? Games don't have to constantly force the player to progress. That's just needlessly stressful.

If a player wants to sit in a closet and watch their neighbor for a few minutes, then they should have that freedom.

But again, I'm not saying closets should be completely safe. Having the AI learn to check the player's previous hiding spots would be a more natural and interesting risk.

I think that if an AI goes near a closet, they could hear you breathing and open it unless you hold a button to hold your breath. The timer would then start.

A hiding mechanic can be in it's self a simple mechanic, we don't need some goofy ah passing out or holding your breath mechanic to overcomplicate things

I just liked this game called alien isolation and the monster in that game could check if you were in a locker by listening for your breath

That sounds pretty cool, but I don't think it makes sense for a game like Hello Neighbor. Which is more based on interesting interactions with the neighbors then hiding mechanics

all the game needs is for the ais to check the closets like regular human beings
if you make noise near a closet or hide there too often then they check it
but camping in closets if you haven't alerted the ai at all has every right to be completely safe and it's no different from camping under a table or in a hard to see place
