(i know the title sucks but hiauwghbfuyabuybfuywe)

Now i'm not talking about how nothings "scary" in this game, but more that there's no risk to it, Most of the time when you break into your neighbor's house, you are risking nothing,
as he cant take away items that aren't his property, which means you can just repeatedly run into his house having no worries that you'll lose anything that you need

Maybe have it so the neighbors can take away one item or so from your bag (that's not from their property) and hide it somewhere in their home

what about when they catch you you respawn with all your items dropped, and kinda like with hn2a1 and hn2a1.5 they would start putting them in hiding places around the house
