#Dragging should return

As many may know, Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1 and Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1.5 had a mechanic that sadly was not utilized in the full game. If you've read the title, you know what I'm talking about: the dragging.

For those unaware, dragging was a feature where instead of a jumpscare, players were met with a quick animation of being shoved to the ground and dragged across the floor by the assailant. At this point, the player would panic, looking for anything in their inventory or on the floor nearby that they could throw at the assailant. If you were able to hit the assailant, you were let go, and the chase continued. If you could not hit the assailant with an object in time, you were brought to a window or door and tossed out of the house, items scattering. This added more tension and depth to being caught, and with some tweaking to not be overpowered it could return.

Many may have forgotten this mechanic, but we shouldn't. It was a shame it was cut. The catch animations of Hello Neighbor 2 could still be compatible with this feature as well considering most of them result to you on the ground anyway, and for those where you aren't on the ground in the animation it wouldn't be too difficult to extend the animation to floor the player.

It hurts that we lost such a unique and fresh idea. Hopefully this catches the attention of TinyBuild and any fans who miss this mechanic.

Oh yeah, the music was great for these sequences, too. Would love to see what Eerie Guest could cook up in the music department for this!

Eh idk

iron spindle

Don't think so?

past gull
#

Well for the guest maybe like he could drag you

#

Outside his shelter when it’s gets added

iron spindle
#

One thing I didn't like was your items scattering.

#

And then you could never find them.

#

That, or the Guest would outright steal them and hide them away who-even-knows-where.

#

I think when you're tossed, your items should be gone, but not tossed into the yard.

past gull
#

Nah

#

That’s too painful

iron spindle
#

They get removed anyway.

#

I should specify the items that are taken are house-specific like it already is in HN2.

stable raven
#

Yeahh, I'm pretty sure they're never going to re-add this.

iron spindle
#

They probably won't, sadly.

past gull
#

It was an interesting idea I guess

#

But ehh

stable raven
#

Yeah, but it didn't work.

past gull
#

It wasn’t executed well

stable raven
#

So they removed it.

iron spindle
#

Considering most items can't be picked up anymore.

past gull
#

Said it wouldn’t be in the final game I think

Chair blocking is going to be interesting.

iron spindle
#

It would need to be an overhauled mechanic.

#

For example, the Bakery is really small.

So I do not know if the Baker being able to do it would even be a fun addition considering you have zero time to fight back.

stable raven
#

Feels much more cozy and neat.

past gull
#

I do too kinda but it could be executed better

#

More life

stable raven
#

Yeah, true.

This looks cool but imagine exploring the map would take years

#

Between locations

iron spindle
#

Such as a car, bike, or moped?

stable raven
#

They made fast travel.

past gull
#

The large open world was scrapped in early 2021 I’m pretty sure because at the end of that year they said raven brooks wouldn’t be large

past gull
#

To me

stable raven

They had a fast means of travel around the house in HN1 in the form of the train, but, let's be honest...who used the train?

#

I did once or twice.

past gull

Alex has a point

#

To make the map dense instead of large
