As many may know, Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1 and Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1.5 had a mechanic that sadly was not utilized in the full game. If you've read the title, you know what I'm talking about: the dragging.
For those unaware, dragging was a feature where instead of a jumpscare, players were met with a quick animation of being shoved to the ground and dragged across the floor by the assailant. At this point, the player would panic, looking for anything in their inventory or on the floor nearby that they could throw at the assailant. If you were able to hit the assailant, you were let go, and the chase continued. If you could not hit the assailant with an object in time, you were brought to a window or door and tossed out of the house, items scattering. This added more tension and depth to being caught, and with some tweaking to not be overpowered it could return.
Many may have forgotten this mechanic, but we shouldn't. It was a shame it was cut. The catch animations of Hello Neighbor 2 could still be compatible with this feature as well considering most of them result to you on the ground anyway, and for those where you aren't on the ground in the animation it wouldn't be too difficult to extend the animation to floor the player.
It hurts that we lost such a unique and fresh idea. Hopefully this catches the attention of TinyBuild and any fans who miss this mechanic.
Oh yeah, the music was great for these sequences, too. Would love to see what Eerie Guest could cook up in the music department for this!
