One of the most immersive things seen throughout the Hello Neighbor series is seeing the neighbor(s) traverse their own home, doing small, pointless tasks. This, however, is not the case for Secret Neighbor for very obvious reasons.
It's simply not worth going AFK for a second just for the sake of immersing your opponents. But what if we made it worth it?
I suggest adding in a feature where the neighbor has a small list of tasks he can do throughout the match. They're short, simple, and do not require much effort. For example, simply pressing E on a chair near a TV to watch TV for five seconds. Maybe even going into a room upstairs to retrieve firewood and putting it into the fireplace to fuel the fire. Cook something in the oven, adjust bedsheets, fix a floorboard, put books on a bookshelf, emote in the yard, whatever. The reward would not be much, but it would give you 2 experience points and 1 coin maybe. These tasks should be able to be cancelled if the neighbor needs to get up and catch a nearby explorer.
This will deter camping and will give something for the neighbor to do besides wandering the house, as well as making the environment feel more immersive. However, I do need to stress that these SHOULD BE OPTIONAL. A player should not, by any means, be forced to do these tasks. That woud take away from the main point too much. If a player does not want to do such tasks, they should not be forced.
These tasks should be limited to a few per match and be only available on quick play to avoid farming and distracting from the main focus of their role: catching kids. There should be more focus on their role instead of these tasks, with these tasks being something you can do only when no one is around.
Just a random idea I thought of. Thought it might be an interesting inclusion.
