It's not as simple as you think. All maps are hosted on the steam workshop which is exclusive to the steam platform.
It would be nice to have on other platforms but it's just not easy.

It’s very easy to add it to other platforms but the problem is the steam workshop. But if you just wanna build maps and don’t need to share them, they can just add it for now without the uploading capability
