So the only times hn has been remotly close to scary is pre alpha, alpha 1 and hello guest prototype also kinda unrelated but the best version of the neighbor is problaby in the Books and even AS in some aspects they did Theodore really well imo the games havent potrayed him that well tbh he should be potrayed more of a unhinged menace in hn2 like he is in the Books and the AS

But Anyways Many people like youtubers and such were disappointed with how extremely tame hn1 was in terms of its atmosphere now with hn2 in the devlog era it felt like you were trying to bring horror back kinda but sadly the full game was even tamer then hn1 but then patch 9 released while still not scary it is a step into a more stealth horror focused direction and imo you should continue to go in that direction.

try to make hn2 less family friendly

they should add skeletons the only time we've seen them were only in back to school in the science class

💀

they should also add some blood and dead bodies that would make the game more darker

subtle sparrow
#

nah

Every time you open a wardrobe a rotting corpse falls out before you can enter

I guess that could work but instead of it being a dead body it could be a mannequin

#

to tone it down a bit but idk

Making darker should not be used for gore and stuff like that, that’s just cheap

#

They should just use for stuff like events

#

Like the moment you find May’s grave in the beta, that was a cool moment that set the entire tone for the beta

subtle sparrow
#

I don't think they should put her actual body but maybe her doll or something the Beta did something like that

#

but it wasn't her doll it was a teddy bear

Forgot to write the other thing

#

But what you said is better

#

What I meant to say is to use the darker tone to imply rather than show

#

Like you said, use a doll instead of the actual body

#

Stuff like that would still keep it family friendly, but it would still allow for darker events

subtle sparrow
#

yeah

We need hyperrealistic corpses in hello neighbor 2

#

Nah but it would be cool if they implemented some more interesting themes

#

Like it doesn’t even need to be “scary,” something like alpha 2’s dark autumn environment would make the game much more interesting than just a sunny neighborhood

subtle sparrow
#

definitely though patch 9 added a lot of horror aspects (horror cues in suspense themes and in Otto's house when you go near one of his animals he taxidermized it plays a faint animal scream or something)

dude
why is everyone so obsessed with making games less family friendly
it´s fine like it is 😭

subtle sparrow
#

true I mean they should make it scary but still keep its family friendly core to it

viral vapor
#

The games potenial a bit and what they can do if its gonna be super family friendly i dont want that

Everything has to be DARK and MATURE

willow knoll
#

I think it would be cooler if we were actually trying to break into the places of somewhat shady people

#

Like idk why we just decide to break into a random bakery💀

I say not too extreme but I think they should at least add soemthing

viral vapor
#

I dont mean they should make hn2 a full fledged

#

Horror game i mean make it more mature and have darker and creepier themes like the Books

subtle sparrow
#

I like the new horror catch sounds when they catch you

just like with the Beta with the Missing Poster

it would be cool if they can kind of prank us maybe there could be a puddle of red liquid on Gerda's kitchen and when we follow it it just leads to a sack of cherries

Quentin has a 30% chance of cutting his finger off and bleeding out when using scissors

well the thing is the game is already rated everyone 10 and up and if they would add more gore and blood or corpses and something like that the game would get an entire new rating and i dont think that this is so easy for the developers but still a good idea

subtle sparrow
#

I feel like a rated t would fit it

#

if they want to go more in
