After attempting to free Aaron from the attic, (and failing,) the town still has a bunch of mysteries to investigate on your own accord. Here's how I think this system would work.
When each Night is completed, a new Sidequest should appear on the board. You're given a photo, or some other kind of clue, and your job is to investigate. From there, you're off! Or if you want to have these separate from the Main Game, you can have them frequently unlock in Freeroam when stumbling across an important object or area.
Maybe revisit a couple of old locations, and who knows? You might find something you didn't notice before.
