ability to look through keyholes

In the 1st game I used it a lot, and now in hn2 I can’t see wether or not my opponent is waiting for me on the other side of the door. So most of the time I walk in just to be greeted with a jumpscare

you see kitty, they replaced the abilty to look through keyholes by having doors with windows

First of all who is kitty? And second of all I don’t remember seeing a window inside the front door
