Not to mention that stating SN isn't popular marks a clear distorted and unrealistic sense of what marketing is.

Companies do consider popularity when crossing over and stuff, however that is not as big of a factor as you may think.

If tinyBuild and/or Capcom pays enough, a crossover will be of interest.

At the end of the day, it's all about the monetary loss and gain being weighed. If they see it as beneficial, they will do it. Resident Evil, I guarantee you, did not beg Puzzles and Survival for a crossover. The bar is so inconcievably low after that crossover that practically anything could happen.

So, Secret Neighbor's popularity should not be focused on when we request this. Regardless on the state of the playerbase, it is possible. And perhaps something that could put tinyBuild in the spotlight.

The attention that would be pointed towards Hello Neighbor as a franchise would be huge. The internet would be discussing this for weeks. "HELLO NEIGHBOR CROSSED OVER WITH RESIDENT EVIL?!" "TOP 10 MOST UNEXPECTED CROSSOVERS" "THE WORST HORROR GAME SERIES JUST CROSSED OVER WITH RESIDENT EVIL!!' all over YouTube and X.

This could lead into "Was Secret Neighbor misjudged?" "Should you play Secret Neighbor in 2023?" "Revisiting Secret Neighbor Four Years Later".

Well, at this point I could see it being a coin flip. If they did this, it could, as you said, fail.

Alternatively, it could also rile up the internet enough to make a ripple in the pond. RE fans have already been loving other asymmetrical horrors (one is a very obvious example), so they do already have an opinion on the genre. A positive one. I personally feel confident to say Secret Neighbor has much more engaging and fun gameplay than Dead By Daylight. It'd probably be best to clean up a lot of things within Secret Neighbor such as bugs, glitches, and balancing issues. Almost like cleaning a house before a showing.

I think it could be very interesting to see it happen, and could lead to some positives for tinyBuild and the SN fanbase alike.

Popularity has nothing to do with wether it should be a crossover or not. I’ve seen many underrated games get crossovers, like For The King, Project Winter, Monday Night Combat, and other hardly known online games.
