Quentin is supposed to be an Investigative journalist but in the actual game he barely does any of that. The only 2 times he actually uses clues to determine what locations to break in are the Museum (newspaper in the basement) and the Mayors house (there's pictures of the Mayor in the museum). Since the game has taken a linear direction it would make sense to take advantage of that and make it so Quentin discovers clues or evidence related to the neighbors instead of the CCTV cams just telling him what to do (not only is it overly convenient but I feel like its a forced and uninteresting way to force Quentin explore a specific location).
Here is some stuff Ive come up with that could help give the player clues naturally instead of the CCTV cams just telling them what to do:
Bakery
Maybe instead of him seeing a recording of Nielsen giving Gerda a key he could just see it happen on night 1 while heading towards the museum (maybe have Nielsens car be parked there or have Nielsen drive away from the bakery once Quentin gets near.
Otto`s house
Otto already has a picture of him and the Missing Journalist in the museum but the issue is that its locked away until you get past his house. Maybe you could have the portrait be visible somewhere in the museum on night 2?
Museum And Mayor
I think so far ingame they are handled well enough? some minor improvements could be made but overall its good

The beta wasnt even linear and they were able to do it quite well by putting hints in the museum on where the player needed to go

seriously Its dissapoiting to see the game just give the player the answer without any prior clues

the CCTV cams being on ted`s house sorta makes sense? but the others not so much

this is a really good Idea, if you look through the book doors glass on night 2 you can see the picture of him and the truth seeker, but I do agree it should be more open and less hard to find
they could either use the linear structure to make us do some actual investigation
or they could do something like what they did with the beta
it was non linear but had actual clues that they player could reasonably find

I think I like this better, I don't mind it still being linear but adding clues for investigation.
I hope they at least add some replay value to the game
they need to add randomized codes, considering code puzzles make up half the game

reviving the thread again because I really want the player to be given a chance to think
the game holds the player`s hand a bit too much to the point you dont even feel like you discovered something on your own you are just given the answer in a really unsatisfying way
