I really hate the storyline and plot continuity for this game, it makes zero sense and is just trying way too hard to be cryptic and "mysterious". I think a more fleshed out world, and cutscenes with more interaction would be better.
First of all, the intro sucks and only exists for YouTubers to get a captivating thumbnail. It could literally just be replaced with the beta intro cutscene but with the new map.
Secondly, the weird transition between levels is extremely strange and has no logic behind it. The game tells you that you need to go back to the station when collecting a clue (Portrait, camera, etc.) and you should be tasked to leave The Museum and go back to the office. The nightmares could play out exactly the same but only after you get into your bed to start the next day.
Finally, I think more and expanded cutscenes from a third-person view would help shape both the plot and Quentin's character. For example, after collecting his camera from Mr. Peterson's safe, Quentin might go down to the police station trying to show the evidence to Keith at the front desk. Keith might deny to see the evidence, which would be a great setup to break into The Mayor's mansion.
