You should be able to go to different locations during the beginning and add stuff like day and night cycle back and also expand the player boundaries.

no, it's practically the same
the AI tasks in the story campaign are based on how far you've progressed through their area, but they still go back and forth between two tasks
in free roam they go back and forth between their starting tasks (the tasks they perform when you first enter their area in the story campaign)
