The intro cutscene in the final game kinda just feels underwhelming compared to the Beta, at least from a worldbuilding perspective. To show what I mean, let me compare the two scenes point by point.

In the Beta the intro starts after the barn segment, meaning by that point we as the player already have some vague idea of what Raven Brooks is and what could be happening there before the cutscene introduces us to the town proper. In the final game Quentin kinda just shows up and starts his investigation with no problems, which I think kinds of takes away from the initial intrigue surrounding Raven Brooks.

The Beta intro shows Quentin doing classic "accident-prone Hello Guest Quentin" things like falling asleep at the wheel and being addicted to coffee. Whereas in the final game we don't even get to see Quentin from a third-person view that often - aside from him writing in his notebook for a brief moment in the intro - and for the rest of the game he's completely mute and personality-less. It feels like a missed opportunity since besides Hello Guest the Beta intro gives is the closest look at Quentin's personality, which now feels absent in the final game.

The Beta intro shows Raven Brooks being this dreary, almost isolated town and as such spends a bit more time actually showing Quentin arrive there, whereas the final game doesn't really establish that same dreary tone and Quentin just shows up there in like 10 seconds.

The Beta intro shows Quentin glancing at the townsfolk and them giving him the stink eye in return. In the final game intro we literally don't even get to meet the other townsfolk (aside from Ted, Aaron, and Imbir), and we only get introduced to them via camera feed from the Hideout. I think the Beta version was better as it A) Did a better job of fleshing out RB as a setting before introducing Ted to the story, B) Introduced us to the other neighbors beforehand, and C) Showed us how Quentin views the townspeople and vice versa.
