I think some people would find the idea of different difficulties appealing. I have made three difficulty ideas to pitch for this feedback.
People Watcher (Easy/Story)
Journalist (Normal)
Professional Detective (Hardcore)
In P.W.(People Watcher) it's more story oriented but that doesn't mean it's fully safe from danger. Puzzles will become simple to solve and neighbors will be slower to react also won't set up traps. This mode will have no unlocks when you beat as it's supposed to be more simple.
In Journalist, think normal HN2 experience at the moment. Ai are suspicious of you and traps will be their normal selves. (hopefully randomized in the future.). Players will unlock perhaps some tools to use when beating this mode however nothing game breaking.
In P.D. (Professional Detective) it's the hard mode of the game. Puzzles will be made harder to solve and perhaps have different solutions altogether. Neighbors will be cautious of you right off the bat as they know you're a journalist. Your tools will be taken away from you if you don't put them on the tool rack and other things like that.
If you manage to beat P.D however, the ultimate reward will await you which could either be a unlock or a extra cutscene that tells more about the story. All difficulties will be avaliable from the start but Journalist will be the recommended one
