#General Foliage Improvements

Now that Patch 7 is out, and has some small foliage tweaks, I want to suggest a few improvements that can be done to the foliage.

  1. The landscape grass layer that doesn't spawn grass foliage on it, was not made darker like the regular layer. I think making it the same would improve the look of the map a little bit more.

  2. The new rock/cliff models, that were placed around the lake, as well as a few other spots, could be placed in many more areas, improving their look drastically. Additionally, please make sure that you place grass on top of these properly, and that no trees are left clipping into them, as I've noticed a few issues like that on Patch 7.

  3. Additional flowers around would also look very pretty in my opinion. There were some poppy flowers in one of the Beta screenshots. These were never publicly added to the game, and it'd be nice to have some around, for an extra spark of color.

  4. Many parts of the map, both neglected, as well as main areas, have spots where the grass is either not placed very well, where it might be clipping into other objects, or is completely missing. I suggest going through the entire map, and making sure that you not only eliminate as much clipping grass as possible, but also make sure that there aren't many empty patches, like there are currently, by placing manual grass where needed.

  5. This one might be a little tricky, but I suggest to optimize the pine trees more. An issue that's still present, is that pine trees disappear at a certain distance. I assume this was done for optimization, however it is extremely jarring to see, and I think optimizing the pines, instead of having them disappear, would be much nicer.

  6. Finally, I have a small suggestion for tall grass. Patch 7 made the tall grass rather small. I suggest you create another grass model, that is similar to the old tall grass, and add some patches of overgrown grass around the map, maybe next to bushes.

To add onto this, I think that more trees need to be placed around the map in order to mask the fact that all the houses are right next to each other (EX: More spruce trees around Otto's house and more trees in general around the museum to make it feel more hidden).
