This would make an awesome addition to HN2, since it doesn't seem to be an open world at the moment. I think it would be cool if we can have some AI's help us on our journey or something for example maybe we can trade with some shady guy and we might get something special in return. Shops would be another great way to get stuff maybe they would sell stuff that you wouldn't find around the map like a jackhammer or a hammer or something. I can go on the list of what other AIs can be helpful, this would make the world 10 times more open and more interactable.

I made a post a while back saying that the Gas Station should come back and there should be an in game currency you earn through side quests, and main missions, which you can use by going to the store and buying items, except any super important main objective items like the Wrench, but items like a gas extinguisher would work, you would also be able to earn those sort of items if you no longer need them.
