Ok, so in recent footage, there seems to be an inventory slot dedicated to just the flashlight (shown in an image below)
This seems cool in concept until you realize it screws inventor over.
Inventor can craft the pan light, and the night vision goggles. The night vision goggles are already pretty useless considering they're just a weaker version of the pan light, and cost the same amount to make as the pan light.
So adding in a flashlight slot will just screw inventor over more, as that'll ruin the purpose of the pan light. It'll basically just become a two hit pan considering kids can carry a flashlight on them at all times.
Yeah, you'd still benefit from having it, but what's the point in even crafting it if you can just use the slightly weaker normal pan and switch between your normal inventory slots and the flashlight?
It also somewhat screws over bagger in a way. The flashlight taking a spot in the inventory is kind of a win lose scenario, and adds a strategic value to the game. Playing as bagger and have your default 3 slots, with 3 keys in front of you? Will you keep the flashlight with you for the extra safety of some light, or will you risk it and take the extra key right away?
It removes the whole risk factor of inventory management when it comes to a light source. That also means bagger would defaultly be able to carry three keys and not have to worry about a flashlight. That's already half the basement unlocked.
Maybe I'm just over exaggerating it, but I do really think the flashlight slot ruins a few aspects of the game which make it what it is. It also just screws inventor and bagger over for the reasons listed above.
