This games AI doesn't have many tools to play around with which is particularly sad due to older trailers showing the Guest being able to react to a situation by running off and grabbing a tool that assists him. Basically the only tool the AI can use right now in the game to protect their house is the beartraps. It makes sense that only Mr. Otto and Mr. Peterson can use beartraps as the other characters would likely not have access to these tools. The problem is that it's not used enough. Whenever I am at Mr. Otto's house I don't as often find myself stepping into beartraps as I do at the museum during the Mr. Peterson boss. The Sumeum is a perfect location for beartraps as it is big and has quite a few small rooms and a few hallways for beartraps to be hidden around. Whenever I am in a serious chase at the museum during the boss I often find myself running through the museum and getting caught in a beartrap and whenever I am in a chase at Mr. Otto's house I end up just running out of the house and am able to get out of the range where beartraps can be placed very quickly. The museum is big and forces the player to get caught in chases inside of it which results in getting caught in beartraps more often. Considering how little tools there are, the one tool that the AI has should be limited as little as possible.
#Let Mr. Peterson Place Beartraps Outside Of The Boss Battle

According to his situation, he should not be able to place beartraps outside of the museum. He’s hiding from the police and everyone else, so yeah, that will not be a thing
I'm not saying he should be able to place traps outside of the building, I'm saying he should be able to place beartraps at other times outside of the boss battle. As of right now if you go to the museum in free roam or any other part during the story that isn't the boss then he simply can't place beartraps.
Ooooooh i thought you meant something else
Well, I think they made him only place bear traps in the boss fight because he's more aggressive
Wait l got a brainwave
Yes and he should put them in random locations so the player always gets suprised
Well I think each time you go to the museum he gets more aggressive. First night should be easy then let’s say night two he’s more aggressive like places a few bear traps and has a more “smarter AI” and then by the last night before the boss fight he’d be faster, “smarter” and place traps more frequently and possibly could take all your items even if they came from elsewhere and then those items would be placed in random places in the museum that the player has access to. It’d also be cool if he would put boards back on doors and windows that the player previously broke off. This could happen in the last night before the boss fight as well.
