I think inventor should have WAY more things to craft so it's like you need to know what to craft and how to use the thing right in certain situations. (I know that these could not fit the game or could be unbalanced but they are just ideas)
Here are some ideas:
Defense robot:
Cost: 3 gears
This is a little machine the size of a box that can be placed on a wall or on the floor.
If the neighbour throws something at you the machine shoots a baseball at it wich stops it but doesn't damage the neighbour like the bat. After the machine shots it gains a 6 second cooldown.
(The machine can't defend the rifle)
If the neighbour doesn't like the machine he can go to it and destroy it. This is performed in a 1.5 second animation wich can't be canceled through a stun.
If the inventor wants to switch spots he can just pick it back up. If he doesn't want it to be there at all he can destroy it himself wich gives him 1 gear back.
Heal pistol:
cost: 4 gears
The heal pistol has 2 syringes in it's mag
that can be shot at the inventor himself or other players. ( no bullet drop )
When any player is hit with a syringe these effects happen:
-if the player is injured he heals himself fully
-if the player is in a beartrap he will free himself
-if the player was downed he stands up
The inventor can also heal himself with it
When the inventor is in a beartrap he can also free himself in a 2 second animation.
When the inventor gets downed by any means he can use the pistol to stand up in a 2 second animation. If he had the item in his hand when he got downed it doesn't drop
Basic drone:
cost: 2 gears
The drone can be used by the inventor.
(The drone can't fly). The inventor can press a button to switch to cam mode where he can control all his controllable machines. While he is in cam mode he is a very easy target. The drone can jump with a 3 second cooldown and can ping things. It can be destroyed by throwing something at it or by falling from too high
