Bear Head Disappeared

I originally picked up the bear head the first time you're in the museum and ended up chucking it on the floor outside the museum (didn't know where to put it at the time) and ended up progressing to the next day. Now the second time I'm back at the museum, the head isn't where I originally put it and it's not in the original place it was so can't complete the 'puzzle' because it's nowhere to be seen? Playing on PC via Gamepass
