I went to grab the shovel and it fell through roof and I can’t get it and I need it to complete game.

for me the shovel just respawn (the shovel of the Hunter) and now i have 2 shovel so maybe you can take it now

I had the same problem.
try go to house where you already was and you might find another one

i checked everything

reloaded the game, loaded last save

#

the walkthrough was just ruined

#

i needed to restart progress and start over

#

and i paid $70 for the deluxe edition
