I bought this game 3 years ago before getting the steam version, before I got the steam version, I played the Xbox version, when I first got my hands to play the game and pressed A, the game told me that I have to buy Xbox gamepass just to play the game, even though I bought the game, so I did, until my xbox gamepass expired. Whenever I try come back and play the Xbox version after playing the steam, the game still tells me to buy the gamepass, even if I own the game

exact same thing happened to me, because you payed for it you OWN the game but dont have cross play to use it. If your using xbox game pass it gives you cross play terms AND the game to rent. xbox live gold only gives you cross play terms. Yeah it is kinda a ripoff but that is the reasoning.

secret neighbor xbox doesn't have crossplay with ps4, ios, steam and stadia only xbox gamepass pc.
