I’m new to fly fishing. I’ve gone out about 5 times, and have had success catching one or two fish per outing on a nymph, specifically the dry/dropper rig. I’ve yet to get a hit on a dry fly.

I was curious if anyone had spot and lure suggestions for July, August, and September. I’m down to keep using the dry/dropper rig and getting nymph hits, but would be stoked to catch a fish on something else if anyone has any recommendations.

Also any beginner must-know tips would be appreciated. I still spend half my sessions getting hooks out of my shoes, clothes, and trees. 😂
