fun fact, if i remember correctly when in customization screen there is a hat which supposedly shows your real hitbox

The player hit box and bullet hitboxes are both quite small, significantly smaller than they look. Alongside that you are given a generous amount of iframes after turns so that might be when you're "phasing" through
