Of course you have the different game mode and have no clue how it works but i guess that it would be something like permanent 4x speed or something, right?
Increase those number, me personally i usually buy 737-800 for any route up to around 9.200km (that will take just under 12h) and MC-21-400 for any good route as close as 11.000km (because it flies faster i decrease plane's efficiency index from 200 to 160-170. otherwise it would be way early for my two 12 hour flights per day)
In terms of upgrading, you want to make as much as the new plane costs. So you could buy one per day or two. 737-800 are amazing planes in term of efficiency, and possibilities. The only thing is it's capacity.
