We're still talking kids being sold on the idea of being heroes while the real people in charge viewed them as fire and forget weapons to buy the rest of humanity time.
Look at Emile.
We dont start that at the age of 4 for our military.
That’s the military for all of human history.
It’s nothing new.
True
But the same ideas apply.
You think a politician cares about some PBI in a trench halfway across the world?
I'd say there is a major difference between being essentially raised by the military and being indoctrinated into being a hero and, say, simple civilian expsoure.
I don't think that Emile was ever driven by the intent of protecting people from the Covenant, he was even going to be replaced by another 3 because of how brutal his methods were with human enemies. I guess he could be an exception though.
Just, it really isn’t anything we haven’t seen in history. Greece, Rome, Egypt, Feudal Knights.......
My problem is looking at the IIIs as if they had a real choice in the matter. Tie in years of indoctrination and specifically targeting motivations and it isn't like if you or I were given the same choice.
And ONI came to them as young as 4.
For the 3s?
Correct
The IIIs, yes. Though some like Carter were 12, I think? Bungie screwed up the age thing.
Really annoyed that hasn’t been retconned, tbh.
Carter was one of the oldest Spartan 3s.
And it’s incredibly dubious that they’d take someone so old.
Granted, I can KINDA see why they might get some older kids involved. They could be looked up to by the younger ones and assume leadership positions. But thats still a stretch especially given the nature of the augmentations.
Unless carter was in Cryo for so long he didn’t age past 7/8.....but even then.
Oh Bungie, picking and choosing and yet ruining your own canon.
Gameplay was always prioritised over lore.
Wouldn't have been hard to just make him 6 lol
Yeah, aging him down wouldn't effect gameplay
Still really want an explanation
Maybe they wanted to enforce a mature image for him?
He'd still look the same though regardless.
If he is as old as his bio says he is, and Kat is the typical age of a III.....and they didn’t meet until 2545.....and what Bungie jokingly hinted at was true.......
Well, it’s not a great thought, lol.
Wait, your problem here is based off of superficial aspects?
I thought this was about his personality.
Hmm? Our problem is he shouldn’t be alive.
I don't see how that would matter for personality either.
Oh that was more a joke.
Poorly phrased
But meant as a joke.
The problem is his age means he potentially had major augmentation issues.
Wait, what did Bungie hint?
That he and Kat had a relationship.
Just picturing him as a 12 year old towering over the 4 year olds makes me chuckle though
They have a dynamic, that's all I see.
But he’d have been 25 at the youngest and she 14 at the oldest.
Yeah, they were joking, but clear indication they did not think things through, lol.
Jesus Christ.
I'd like to think that their dynamic was a makeshift brother and sister relationship.
At any rate, the issue of his age is one I really want 343/whoever worked on his bio to explain. Or at least try to.
Not from an in-universe perspective, but from an out of universe one.
Because like, a lot of it is really unnecessary and clashes with everything else.
When you say "out of universe", are you referring to a potential retcon?
I’d be very happy if that was the case.
But really I just want to know their reasoning.
Honestly, they could just adjust the date for his age and it wouldn't hurt anything.
I suggest that you watch the developers commentary that Bungie did for Reach (if you haven't already), they tie up some loose ends and provide some insight.
Nothing on the age discrepancy though.
It's a very controversial topic (now that you mentioned the hint), I'd like to think that nothing happened between them.
I certainly wouldn't, I would object to more lore being established for B-312 though.
That's the only member of Noble Team who I don't want to receive external treatment for.
He is, yes.
This was hidden in the menu background for Reach when it launched on MCC, it displayed a small profile for B-312.
I wonder if they'll ever make scores from the games canonically exist in Halo's universe. Can you imagine a segment where a group of ODSTs are listening to We're The Desperate Measures?
Well, the chanting we hear at the beginning of the Halo theme is a Covenant prayer
Presumably sung by the San'Shyuum, yes?
Aye, we hear Regret singing it in Halo 2 before Cortana translates it
Martin O'Donnell even stated that the Prophet of Regret- yeah...
Then we have the track, Covenant Prayer (Huh) from Halo 5, that's also canon, with there being Grunts on the mission Battle of Sunaion singing it next to a Guardian hologram
Oh, to add more detail to what you said, Regret actually sings a part of H2's theme.
I can provide a link as a reference for this, if you are curious.
Sure
Thanks
It's very brief but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.
Martin even stated that he acquired a different group of monks to sing the melody for H2.
I'm now imagining Marty going to a monastery and kidnapping a bunch of monks to make them sing the theme and claiming he "acquired them"
Lmao.
But seriously, don't kidnap monks, they'll likely beat you up
Apparently, the Hunters were originally supposed to be the heretics in The Arbiter too. Yeah, I know from watching Johnny English.
Aye, I am curious as to how different those missions would've been if they did go with the Lekgolo Heretics idea. And I was thinking more along the lines of monks from Eastern cultures
Ah, well that's why one of the Elites in Uprising (I think) puts emphasis on the Hunters helping them.
I'm sure that someone lurking here will correct me if I am wrong...
Hey I'm curious about Elite Special forces
Did squads have special names?
Who was their direct commander? Like the ship master?
Considering the size of the Halo ships, is it possibly for black holes to affect them or are the UNSC and Covenant ships just too big?
Black holes effect everything man.
Nothing escapes gravity. It is the one True Force
Ships are very miniscule compared to a black hole's pull
Sorry, I honestly don’t know how big an average black hole is 😓
Big.
Really big.
Stupidly huge.
If not even light can escape a black hole, nothing can.
But could they use slipspace to escape the pull?
Theoretically, but gravitational pulls muck with slipspace something FIERCE
mind you, you cant HIDE a black hole, the acretion disk it creats as it eats literally everything around it can be seen for BILLIONS of AUs
We can see black holes here on earth with telescopes that are stupidly long distances away
Okay, so if a ship does get suck in, would they get crushed from the gravitational pull?
Yes.
Not till they reach the event horizon, at which point the entire thing would undergo spagettification
Yes, thats the term
Being turned into spaghetti is not a fate you want to meet
Eugh, Im getting the heebies just thinking about it...
_<
They ANIMATED it for a Nova show once.
God that gave me nightmares when I was a kid.
Eugh. And eugh again.
anyway moving on; nothing messes with a black hole. Certainly nothing in the Halo universe, except PERHAPS the Precursors
Not even the forerunners?
What tech in Halo could sustain that?
The Didact’s ship? Not the composer but that sphere thing
It's survived being sucked into a black hole?
No, I’m saying could it?
Nah, Cryptums are tought but they aint THAT tough
The Didact’s ship? Not the composer but that sphere thing
Cryptums would not survive in a black hole
Does the strength of hardlight vary?
Wait, now I’m a bit curious. Are the Precursors basically gods/ creators? Or just a very old and advanced race?
Depends on what's producing the hardlight. Like, the hardlight shields used on the Ark to prevent the UNSC and the Covie separatists from reaching Truth and his loyalists would be much stronger than a Promethean Watcher's hardlight shield
Depends on what its designed to stop or do. Most Forerunner structures have hardlight composition to them
And its indistinguishable from concrete or metal in many cases
I'm pretty sure that the Precursors are just a very old race.
They're described as primordial.
Depends on what's producing the hardlight. Like, the hardlight shields used on the Ark to prevent the UNSC and the Covie separatists from reaching Truth and his loyalists would be much stronger than a Promethean Watcher's hardlight shield
Ah, I see, does shape also come into play?
Probably
It's possible but not the most important factor
How does it work again? The photons are solidified somehow, right?
TO HALOPEDIA
Lmfao.
as-yet unexplained interplay between coherent, high-energy light and gas particles, such as air.
Thats...about all we got
I'm immediately thinking of that clip where a group of dogs are walking in unison while the LoTR theme plays.
There is real world efforts by scientists to make light act like a solid object
By structuring the photons into the formation of a solid?
high energy light is gamma rays
There is so much math, history and science to Halo (so much lore) now from when I first played that Halo should have a course to better understand everything 😂🤣
Halo 101. Make it happen people
Wizard 101 didn't teach me jack about magic
Its a kids MMO, those tend to have various issues
high energy light is gamma rays
Are you referring to my inclusion of the term "photons"?
photon is just a term that applies to the particle side of light
I was just making sure because that's what I was referring to.
I was trying to avoid confusion.
since light has both properties of particles and waves
the energy of a photon is inversely proporptional to its wavelength
i.e. high energy means low wavelength
gamma rays are among the lowest wavelength forms of light
dunno
It would be a very bad idea.
Yes, I'm well aware.
but then again, they aren't confined to a single shape normally
wouldn't it be neat if you could smack an enemy with a hardlight shield and give them cancer/organ failure?
That's the problem, trying to use that form of light would have serious effects on the biological life nearby.
Accelerated space cancer?
only if light leaks out of the hardlight construct
i assume hardlight constructs don't leak
I hope so.
Otherwise our next biggest enemy in Infinite will be the sequence for Chief's DNA.
You know what’s odd. Promethean hardlight bullets are red. Red is a lower energy form of light than blue
For maximum punch, hard light should be purple
If you want to still be able to see the bullets, at least
Yeah, wouldn't infra-red be the most lethal?
Ah.
violet light is the highest energy light on the visible spectrum
What about for the invisible side?
Infrared is just after radio waves in terms of energy
Thanks, I forgot about that.
You just reminded me it because you mentioned the term "invisible".
Visible light accounts for only a small portion of the light spectrum
Most light is not visible
Yeah, that I remember, lol.
That being said, how does the Promethean weaponry cause the whole body to disintegrate like that?
Unless, now this will sound stupid, what if the hardlight is so powerful to cause the whole body to have breakages in their genetic sequences that causes the body to rapidly decompose?
Decomposition wouldn’t be the result of dna damage
Isn't there a gene for cell age though?
Cell death, yes, but it would present as catastrophic organ failure
That’s what radiation poisoning is
No there is no gene for cell age
Your cell’s “age” is determined by telomere length
Your thinking of telomere yeah
And thats why Lobsters are effectively immortal, cause theirs dont shorten
the real miracle is that they manage to not get cancer
but they're not actually immortal
I think he was exaggerating to make a point.
technically lobster telomeres do shorten, but they have an enzyme that restores the telomeres that in humans is only expressed in stem cells
How does it perform that?
it literally adds the repeated nucleotide sequence on the ends of telomeres
Oh, lmfao.
but in mammals, longevity due to telomerase usually leads to cancer
so its impressive that lobsters don't suffer that fate
Is that due to mistakes being frequently made in new cells?
Oof.
telomeres in mammals function as a little timer for the cell that tells it when to die so it doesn't become cancerous
So, I want to know your guys' opinion even though this is a Halo fan discord but how would the UNSC fare against the Mass Effect Universe? Ground and naval combat? Not Post-War UNSC though
To perform apoptosis, right?
apoptosis is one result, yes
That's the self induced death, from what I can recall.
How do they actually do that? Just cease the organelles from functioning?
they package the organelles into lysosomes and break them down
By the way, did some of the Spartan 2 recruits die from organ failure?
Wouldnt be surprised if some did
I'm wondering if the extension of their telomeres caused them to die.
Like, what if the cells in their bodies performed apoptosis because they didn't know what to do with this new information?
That’s unlikely
Do you think that the cells were just overwhelmed by the drugs?
Or what if they were just experiencing so much pain that it caused their brains to shut down in response?
I mean it varied from person to person
You got people like Fhajad
who had to be escorted out by wheelchair because it hurt to move if I'm correct
Oh yeah, wasn't he paralysed from the waist down?
I'm pretty sure but its been around 3-4? years since I've read the book
maybe longer
Musa is the spartan 2 most known for being paralyzed
Ah, I see.
I remember seeing some who had nose bleeds after death, doesn't that indicate brain damage?
You also had Red team that had their bodies rejecting the first round of augmentations but were rehabilitated and managed to succeed the second time
Was the augmentation process painful for the Spartan 4s?
probably, was much more safer though
I just remember what Buck said about the new traits he gained from them. I'm unsure if he stated that the process was painful.
Well, they did have their strength and speed increased (muscular/skeletal tissues reinforced as well as stretched/legthened), (multiple organs modified), (nervous system boosted), and much more
There is no doubt there would be quite an uncomfortable/painful adjustment period
Some Spartan 4s were selected but some enrolled, yes?
I thought they were all selected from existing UNSC military groups
Was Thorne a Marine or something then?
Some were recruited, others went on their own for evaluation
Thorne was UNSC army
Palmer was scouted by Jun
Right, couldn't Marcus Stacker be selected?
That's such a shame.
Chips Dubbo o . o
I know
I dont think age has THAT much effect, perhaps in some canddiates but
Spartans are expected to be still prime even after being a hundred
paraphrasing
I think that Stacker is at least in his late 40s or even early 50s by now.
Stacker was more likely in his 50s-60s
Its crazy to remember that Johnson was in his 60-70s during Halo 3 and he seemed as fit as hell. So Stacker should have been fine
To be fair, his age is left ambiguous, Chimera.
And while Spartans can stay in their prime for longer, if your out of your prime before becoming a spartan, that’s different
What if Stacker was a part of the ORION Project?
Buck was probably just on the cusp of leaving his prime before augmentation
Is that 343i's excuse for him being an underdog in Fireteam Osiris?
Its crazy to remember that Johnson was in his 60-70s during Halo 3 and he seemed as fit as hell
Remember that by his own admission, Johnson probably spent about a half to a third of his life in cryo.
true :/
Do you think there's a possibility that Stacker was a member of the ORION Program?
Not thaat many
how does the heretic leader's holograms attack you?
in others words how does a hologram shoot plasma rifles
Atm Space magic
There might be a reason somewhere along the line
I'd have a guess and say programmable matter or Hard Light
But it is very weird
maybe spark helped him find a way to suspend plasma rifles in the air and fire them using hard light?
Seems a bit impractical.
Also I believe the Holo-drone is reversed engineered Covenant technology
Wait are we talking about the heretic from halo 2?
yes
Did we get to Europa in the halo verse yet?
Considering they’ve made it to other star systems, I’m sure the UNSC is capable of traveling to Europa if they want
So is there any known combat underwater or in the water? Other than near liquids?
Theres at least two, possibly three MJLONIR platforms designed for high density liquid combat.
MAKO and OCEANIC I think...
Or not Oceanic, something like it. It had the big diving visor on it I really kinda liked
@simple locustwe know blue team took part in a aquatic mission to deal with covenant forces in the chixilub crater off the gulf of Mexico. And the Covenant empire itself was known to have aquatic banshees, and likely other underwater variants of their land vehicles
I recall the Yonhet are amphibians so could they potentially fight underwater without suits?
Also did those Banshees shoot plasma or other projectiles?
I Bungie's marathon games underwater combat was in the game series. Only melee and melee weapons could deal damage underwater to enemies, the plasma pistol equivalent dealt damage to the plat if shot underwater. Other weapons could not be use. The enemies only used melees.
I would assume plasma, it would just boil the water around it before impacting.
Does teleportation exist in Halo?
Like you can move between two locations instantly
We see it used in games like CE, 2, and others, but unknown if it's "instant".
Yes. Regret can teleport.
The spires in Halo reach were r also capable of teleporting down drop ships and troops
A lot in Halo Wars as well. More so in multiplayer though.
Slipspace translocation appears to be both near-instant and not depending on the situation or scene or source.
HCE - GS transporting MC around appears to not be since they appear to having a conversation while teleporting.
However GS is also seen in a terminals seemingly teleporting between locations near-instantly or with only seconds delay
Other slipspace teleportation appears instant such as Requiem and Mantle's Approach's portal system
Also the portal between Shield World 006 and Hesduros seemed near-instant and that was between star systems
How does the non-slipspace teleportation by the flood before the rings fired worked?
I mean the other way, the ships destroyed by the asteroids.
True
Sooooooooo, quick question, From what I understand, 6 survived the elite onslaught and managed to find a cave, survive the initial glassing, then got killed by maybe more elites or something, correct?
No. Six did not find a cave. He was killed by the Elites we see in that cutscene
The Cave is a Lie
The whole cave theory came about from people who are so desperate for the character to live that they will come up with anything to claim he's alive
The whole cave theory came about from people who are so desperate for the character to live that they will come up with anything to claim he's alive
@carmine sleet
i think it originated from a meme
a meme that evolved into a theory
Probably.
Would be a little on the nose for both old sgt.s to be spartan Is
You really think so?
What is a "latchkey discovery" in Halo?
Its just a phrase I'm pretty sure, it just means you found something extremely important to unlock something else
It also has no real meaning in the Universe as a whole, it was more of a plot device
Ah, thanks anyway.
yeah, 6 died when the zealot stabbed him at the end of Reach
Energy dagger go swwshhh
I'll never forgive those... monsters.
A lot of people in the universe have been trying to.
Could be worse, they could’ve killed someone with a relatable personality.
But I'm bland and quiet.
Did Avery and Al Cygni ever get into a relationship or was the freighter thing a one time?
I think it was just a "one night stand".
@lethal comet You're referring to the ending of CH, right?
It's why I stopped reading after the first few lines, lol.
I was expecting a kiss but that works too
Halopedia states that the duration of their relationship was left ambiguous.
I hope this helps.
Am about to start the cole protocol
The book?
nah, the actually cole protocol
he's under attack and has to protect the location of earth
good luck soldier o7
Excuse me I have to purge the data now
Make sure to destroy any AI you have just in case
Halo 2 happens 28 days after Halo 1, Halo 2 takes 28 days and then2 weeks after that halo 3 starts. meaning Halo 1, 2 and 3 all happen in 153 days
Thanks, Stig.
Took me more than a month to beat halo 2 the first time 🙃 chief is a beast
That makes me question something about ODST though, when does the Great Schism occur on Earth?
Someone suggested that Truth had Brutes prepared for the betrayal already, I'm unsure about this though.
theres quite abit of a backstory behind all that stuff lol
I'm aware, is there any detailing why we see dead Elites a few hours after Regret left New Mombasa though?
Truth shunned the elites
and didnt want the elites to be apart of the earth victory
so he had the brutes kill the elites on earth
but thats like
a MAJOR TLDR
The elites left behind by regret had no way of contacting other elites in other areas of the galaxy, they were cut off and vulnerable for early disposal
Our boy arbiter pulling a whole species worth of vengeance on his shoulders
No wonder he's a hinge head...
Yes, he's the only Elite who I trust.
And I like how the halo 2 is a parralel
chief is getting the highest honours
while arbiter is getting punished
Mmhmm.
Ironically he’s also the one elite responsible for the most human deaths in the war
which leads them to eventually meet eachother and form a bond
yeah
lol
with the guys he killed the most of
he realises the prophets are absolutely out of their minds
Yes, he is, but I think he really cares about establishing peace with the humans.
I don't trust him at all, he is a cool character though. He seems to view the humans as a nuisance.
Don't ODSTs receive G force training that is similar to what NASA astronauts experience?
Where they have the mechanical frame spin in circles?
I imagine they’re training would be greater than modern day astronauts
They practice staying conscious in Increased gravity
Then again, since halo ships have artificial gravity, it almost seems unnecessary for your standard marine
Untrained marines can pass out in HEVs
Yeah, I imagine that drop pods do not provide artificial gravity fields.
No, not the pods
But the pods can only fall at a max of 1G (depending on what G is for a planet)
Which is what I was originally referring to, sorry I should have clarified that.
Most likely less than 1G when you take into account drag
In the drop sequence?
Yes
I'm unsure about that.
Drop pods aren’t propelled
They fall due to gravity alone
And then air resistance and the air brakes further slow the decent
So, they're placed just on the edge of a planet's atmosphere before drops?
They’re dropped from within the gravitational pull
It looks like they're launched at first though.
Nah they’re just released
Ah, I see.
Yeah, that's why I mentioned it.
Well then, gravity training would be helpful for that
As in what I mentioned earlier or simulated low gravity environments?
More like simulated high gravity, but who knows
I imagine they have more sophisticated grav training than the rotor modern astronauts use. It’s the future, after all
Are spartans and elites equally balanced in the lore or is one better than the other?
Like I am talking about combat capability
like armor, shields, how well they do combat
The strength of Elites can vary.
Spartans > an elite minor but after that, it can lean in favor of the elites
An elite major once defeated John in single combat
Who? The one in Legends?
I wouldn’t really call that defeating him. Honestly that fight was really dumb. I don’t think it happened like the scene was depicted.
I mean, Chief evaded true defeat thanks to the jump
That’s not what I mean though. There was no killing blow. Thel didn’t even actually land a hit on hum.
But also the idea John would actually agree to a 1v1 sword duel is asinine to me. It doesn’t really make sense.
Lodamee disarmed Chief and forced him to his knees. A killing stroke follow up wouldn’t be too hard to imagine
True. But my latter point stands. It just seems odd.
What was Vinnevra's actual name if the name we know her by is her mother's name?
Pretty much we don't know her actual name
That sucks
Lodamee nearly killed Chief. And as for Jiralhanae, Atriox alone can defeat Douglas, Alice, and Jerome single-handedly.
Well, he defeated Douglas.
"Defeated"
Yes, Jerome knows that facing him more will earn three of them beaten up.
And for his tribulation, he lost like, 600+ troops when the Spirit unloaded her archers onto the encampment
Hes good. But he had surprise and placement on his side.
Nothing short of the Didact can withstand three Spartan-IIs.
Why do you think Atriox hid in the back after that?
Even Chief almost died by Didact hands once more
Because Atriox wants to have fun with them
And he let Red Team go intentionally
Yeah, and probably cause he knew if they stayed they would have kicked his butt.
One on one with an S-II? Fine. Three v One? Hes too smart for that.
He might take out another (probably not though once they saw what he could do) but he'd still go down.
Having outdated skunktech MJLONIR MK IV certainly helped.
He'd be no match for an S-II in GEN 2
Jerome and Douglas lost their combat knife to Atriox
Yes, a COMBAT KNIFE
On a fist fight, I also quite doubt it S-II can pull it off
You assume they'd fight fair.
These are S-IIs. They do whatever they need to to win.
My guess as to what would happen is that Douglas would get into close combat again, and while he's doing that and Atriox is distracted, Alice (hiding in teh back) would cut Atriox's legs out from under him with a spray of machine gun fire (that armors tough but nothing takes multiple shots from an M247, certainly not Covenant armor), then Jerome either finishs him off with a neck snap or (to be even more classy) smashes his head into his chest with his own giant energy mace
He's good.
But he's only a Jiralhanne. Smart or not, he's not THAT good.
Remember that even the Hierarchs can't touch Atriox even during Human-Covenant War.
And additionally, any assassination attempts are failed.
But he was such a small scale threat they didn’t care enough to crush him.
They could have easily, however.
He was like a blackberry thorn in their wrist, while the UNSC was a giant spear in the chest
They figured they'd wipe out humanity, then roll back and handle him.
And then came Halo and the possibility of THE GREAT JOURNEY
And Atriox went completely out the window because "TIME TO FUFILL OUR COVENANT!"
And adding Jiralhanae's base attitude, it will be quite an advantage for Atriox to stir up some Great Schism of his own version.
Too bad he didnt, lul. Cheif beat him to that.
If you need any confirmation Atriox isn’t this amazing monster and a leader, look at his opponents at the Ark.
An incredibly outdated ship, not even a true warship, with half a crew if even that, and three Spartans with outdated armour.
And he can’t even kill them, lol.
He can't because UNSC know where to hit him. Should Atriox was really serious in the first place, he could destroy Spirit of Fire earlier
Strategist mind is not as simple as we can always think of.
He's a Jiralhanne. Again.
There are lots of stratagem to consider.
He didnt know what a Phoenix-class could do
But yeah Canadian's right, he had every chance and advantage in this fight and instead...the Spirit kicked his butt.
Knocked out a carrier well past its tonnage...
AND stole a Halo ring
Isn't Atriox like the only Brute who isn't impulsive and incompetent though?
He is quite a cunning one, but then again, his biggest mistake is he expand the battle lines too much without alternatives while UNSC does.
Castor is also not bad.
Is that the guy trying to start the alliance?
Also Lydus. (He’s the one trying to start the alliance between humanity.) castor is a leader of the Keepers.
Atriox’s biggest flaw is that he has no clear objective. We still don’t know what he actually wants.
What was Halo Bloodline about? More specifically why were the spartans fighting each other?
It's about Spartan Black Team. You learn why they fight one another during the comic
@feral perch I agree. I think he wants resources and to conquer. I assume maybe like the Mongols had done.
Also was black team under mind control or something? The video I saw was in Spanish and I can only partially understand it.
The monitor hacked his helmet made him see things that didn't happen
Neural implant too I believe
@simple locust Neural Physics transit meant ships shed multiverse residues as they emerged into real space. This made them vulnerable to attack briefly which let the Forerunners use asteroids on em
Why not just shoot them?
"multiverse residues" are those related to the energy of the mini universes the Forerunners used for energy? Also what attribute of the helmet did the monitor hack?
It's not really elaborated on. I'm a fan of the idea that it's related to the actual multiverse in some way. Makes the Flood scarier, acts as a call to the potentiality that Precursors aren't of this universe.
Well they did say that the Forerunners stripped nacent universes to power their machines. Thats how vaccum energy worked if I remember right
So...you probably arent too far off
So would that mean that the ships would change their timeline to have been at a different location or what? With the Multiverse residues.
Not likely. I think they jused used it for power
For the Forerunners who managed to escape/"get out of the way" of the firing of the Halo rings , and lived elsewhere in the universe, are those Forerunners or any biological descendants aware of the Didacts somewhat brief return the Galaxy (during the events of Halo 4 and Escalation (I think) ?
If that makes any sense
the forerunners that didn't get killed by the halos were on the ark during the firing. the ark is out of range, so that's why they were ok
when they left the galaxy, they left behind their technology too, so it's unlikely they know anything about what's going on in the milky way
With the shenanigans currently going on (the Created Uprising) ... It's probably for the better..
Well we only know bornsteller and chant ditched their armor and technology. Others could have kept it. We were never given a solid number how many forerunners were on the ark outside of born, chant, and a few other named ones
I like to think the remaining forerunners are still alive as primitives in Path Kethona.
the forerunners have the big dead
omega halo fired towards path cetona
why did I spell that wrong like that
you get used to it
it was very tragic... those forerunners just dying
a lot of things in halo are tragic
:*(
it helps to build a better narrative its sad.
I don't remember the part where Path Kethona was included in the destructive path of the Halo Array
because wasn't Omega Halo still a Senescent Halo, so its range was limited to the local area?
well, it was. all life and all precursor artifacts are gone;
I mean, I've read Silentium 4 times, so I'm just failing to recall that part
during the end of the battle of the greater ark, the halo was fired in order to stop the precursor star roads. the halo purged path ketona of all life, and the omega halo was destroyed by the star roads
i remember the scene. I will have to reread that part. I am a little confused how that would have worked, but maybe it will make more sense when I read it again

''The multidimensional radiation field stretches out, as designed, to Path Kethona. Massless, subtle, deadly, it will cross that great distance in mere instants. Halo energy does not recognize space and time. Path Kethona is already dead."
hmmm... then I am just confused how that works with the canon of the older halos not having that kind of range
Omega Halo's main weapon was designed to fire directed pulses as opposed to the omnidirectional effects of the newer Halos
so, theres a bit of a difference between the firing mechanism of the older and the newer halos
@ebon mauve i think this might help.
How many rings still haven't been discovered by the UNSC?
as far as i know
03, 04, 05 and 07 have been discovered so far
03 in h4
04 in CE
05 in h2
00 in h3
07 in infinite
h2 had 05
08 and 09 were also discovered but Chief destroyed 08 at the Ark and 09 is with Anders
yesah that was a typing error on my part;
They were replacements so don;t really count
they do actually, theyre halos.
It's unconfirmed that the ring in Infinite is 07 but it was found in between Halo 3 and 4 by the UNSC
slip, the reveal trailer for infinite.
The trailer doesn't confirm which ring it is
wasn;t that the one went from 30000 km to 10000km
during that tent scene, theres a message in morse code.
That message isn't really confirmation
Maybe Infinite has multiple rings
I doubt it
We still need to know about 09
so i suppose its highly, highly likely that we're looking at zeta halo in infinite.
Still.kinda hate how humanity is just finding the halos left and right
but its not confirmed by 343 themeselves.
They found them through the ark I think
humanity found I04 by accident. they didn't find I05, technically; the covies did, humanity just followed. Humanity found I03 and I07 during the 4 year period while chief was sleeping
so really, they only found 2 halos by active searching
Yes, I said that already
they didn't find it before
i wonder what halopedia says?
''On November 28, 2553, a renowned scientist and historian named Luther Mann discovered the location of Zeta Halo through cross-referencing Forerunner architecture on the shield world Sarcophagus. ONI subsequently initiated the Zeta Halo project in 2555, sending a researcher detachment of approximately 300 scientists of multiple fields, including Mann and Henry Lamb, to study the Halo along with hundreds of automated probes to scan and map out the installation."
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh

Since ex covenant species eventually lived along side humans after halo 3 did a human and an elite ever just sit down on a spacecouch™️ and play a game on their xcube™️?
It's not as simple as the Covenant fell and everyone got along
I recognise both of those surnames, weren't they in Hunters in The Dark?
They are both in Hunters in the Dark
Lamb's name also shows up in Halo Wars 2 as well, having the facility that we see Atriox face off against Red Team in being named after Lamb due to his death during the op to the Ark in Hunters in the Dark
Right, this was in the opening, yes?
Aye, the first level, when they arrive, there's a sign with his name on it
What makes you believe that he is dead?
Also, a Halo game does not have to be set after his "death" (if that even happened).
the terminals seemed to imply that he died, but its possible that he didnt.
What if a part of him died?
I'd rather it be Mendicant that turns out to be alive than some of the other characters I've seen people suggest should be brought back
pretty sure Mendicant was disassembled and moved throughout each halo ring to keep in prison
not dead tho
Mendicant wasn't distributed across the Halos
just the arc?
i think MB could actually make for quite an interesting plot wbu?
pretty sure Mendicant was disassembled and moved throughout each halo ring to keep in prison
no.
Yes, from what I understand, he's an AI who overcame the corruption of the logic plague. For the games, he just seems like this omnipresent entity who has been observing you for years.
I don't think there was any mention of him dying
have you read the terminals?
yeah but not for a fat minute
The terminals in Halo 3 all end with him making fairly direct claims of sacrificing himself to get Master Chief safely away from the imploding Installation 08.
id say he's dormant at most.
will he be in infinite? also possible, but unlikely.
i'll have to re-read the terminals then
yes
That's another thing, I've seen some content which imply that he lost fragments of himself.
Have you listened to Destroyer's Invocation in reverse?
yes delete i have.
although im not sure how that implies him losing fragments of himself...
Someone suggested that Mendicant has been assisting Chief behind the scenes, IF that were true, it must mean that he has had to somewhat evolve over time. In Destroyer's Invocation, that dialogue is very nihilistic and dark; it kind of contrasts that theory if it was true.
So what if Mendicant had to "shed" corrupted parts of himself?
And we simply discover these fragments in the games?
@round comet
alright thats fair
if MB plays a role in infinite then the plot could be rebuilding an ancient and powerful Contender class Forerunner AI, one with quite a history and a desire for atonement, in order to defeat Cortana
but then im not sure how he'll be on zeta halo.
maybe in other games, like a spinoff;
I think I remember someone stating that Mendicant Bias originates from Zeta Halo, or he was at least assigned to it.
he was.
but the last time i checked he was on the ark.
ok wait, maybe one of his fragments could be on zeta halo?
He seems to be very powerful, what if he is able to be at multiple locations in one instance?
idk if thats possible
We don't know a lot of information about him.
we do actually. but not his full capabilities, we've been assuming he's ultrapowerful.
which he probably is
MB’s core facility was on zeta. However when he defected, he obviously didn’t stay there anymore
All his fragments were taken to the ark for trial and imprisonment. How one fragment got out and commandeered a key ship is beyond me, but the rest of him was on the ark. When truth brought that last fragment back to the ark, mb reconstituted itself
So there are fragments of himself?
There is three routes for MB one could get from Halo 3.
-
He died on I08 after it fell appart.
-
The fragment it was using to communicate after it reconstituted itself was destroyed leaving the rest of MB stuck in his tomb unable to talk to anything till found.
-
Other fragments got out and are still out there. Though I dislike this option. (Though I admit that would just be a repeat of the IRIS campaign seeing as thats what happened in 2007 kinda)
After the events of ODST, did Romeo ever receive a Purple Heart ?
not sure if that particular commendation exists in the UNSC
From what I've been able to find, 117 was a purple heart recipient as well as Johnson, Jacob Keyes, Terrence Hood, and Mendez
i guess it does
In romeo's case, since he was on a covert mission for ONI, commendations were probably not presented
because that would require publicizing the operation
I'm sure he'll receive one at some point
He sure did work for it
Speaking of which, the only award 117 doesnt have is prisoner of war, right?
yeah i think'
He was technically taken prisoner for a short while though.
Well romeo sure could've earned a purple heart once he became a spartan, since he wouldn't have been ONI anymore
Some Insurrectionists trapped him and Blue Team in an EMP field iirc.
but was it a prisoner of war camp?
He wasn't captured for long
so it kinda dont count
Hm.
Romeo wasn't part of ONI during his time as an ODST
being sent on a secret mission for ONI != being a part of ONI
he could still get purple hearts as an ODST, just not for that one mission (probably)
yeah his time was more than ODST
Im the best at halo 2 ill cap any one of you
oh yeah? Bet.
Im the worst at halo 2 ill get capd by any one of you but well have mics on and chat and laugh and eat pizza and grow as friends itll be a lot of fun. Wait none of this has anything to do with lore.
Wait the real lore was the friends we made along the way.
Congragulations on being good at a game that became mostly irellevant almost a decade ago.
Actually, can we hear more about Unggoy Farmer at some point?
I honestly think we’ll get unggoy farmer one day
I’d rather have an Installation Tycoon
Im more interested into how they explain a human-themed game around (theoretically based on the name) raising another sentint species.
Maybe its ONI propoganda, who knows.
Instillation Tycoon...now we're talking.
Forerunner Tycoon.
Precursor spore
Warthog Kart.
No, I won't, the hinge heads can rot in Hell.
I'll never co-operate with them.
I wonder if we'll see a Kraken return in another Halo game.
Something tells me not likely. Least, as far as I can tell.
Was there any brutes in Juls covenant remnant that we know of. I’ve always kind of wondered why we never saw them in 4 and 5.
Doubt it
I don't think so, the only known faction that has both of those races working in unison is the Banished. From what I can recall anyway.
weren't brutes on the brink of extinction?
Brutes were not on the brink of extinction
Where were they when halo 4/5 came out?
Not part of Jul's Covenant
Busy fighting off the Elites who were massacring them, from what I remember.
Like, just because we don't see them, doesn't mean they are dying out
Between halo 4 and 5, there was an effort by Thel to make pease with a major brute clan
The UNSC agreed to mediate proceedings
But the meeting was interrupted by hostiles
Paul DeMarco lost his life, iirc
The mission was successful though, right?
It’s left up in the air
Is it true that the Elites and Brutes hate each other more than they hate the humans?
I think the elites hate the brutes more than they hate humanity
You expect your enemy to hurt you, but not your ally
The tensions were already pretty high beforehand though, right?
Ye.
Relations were strained, sure, but that’s leagues better than literal surprise genocide
I can't remember any material suggesting this (chronologically before H2).
As for the peace mission, this is what Palmer and Lasky said about it to each other after everything went down:
"Those diplomats were never going to agree on anything, you know."
"Maybe not. But that wasn't our job."
So sounds like things did not get resolved.
Brutes didn’t exist before h2, unless they were in book
Did First Strike release before Halo 2?
Yes.
Yeppers
I should probably read that book.
Did first strike go into brute and elite interactions?
Not as far as I recall, I just know that the Fleet at the Uneven Elephant was mostly commanded by Brutes
What was the name of the Brute who wanted to establish peace with the Elites? Castor?
Lydus. Castor was a member of the Keepers of the One Freedom
Hm?
Several lol
I think that I experienced the Mandela effect, I remember several Spartans dying at one point in the story.
One spartan killed his team because he was a double agent
Even then, it was a bad idea for the humans to get involved anyway.
Nothing was achieved.
They needed to show they were willing to put forth the effort
One of the humans even tried to sabotage the mission.
I guess I'm too close minded about the whole ordeal.
Do the jackals not like the grunts?
Some amount dislike them, yes.
Can you swap weapons with the construction site workers in H3?
Yes
That must have been for gameplay reasons, I can't see why random civilians would be familiar with UNSC weaponry.
Hello.
Could someone explain to me how the rotating sections of early UNSC ships work?
Halopedia is your friend
Stornado, Halopedia does not explain how the sections work, only that they are used to create gravity somehow.
sounds like a centrifuge
I guess I was wondering...would the room appear to be spinning from inside the ship?
How fast would the spin be?
no. if you're in that section, you'd be spinning with it and wouldn't notice
just like how you don't notice the earth spinning
Wouldn't the spin have to be extremely fast though?
only if you want to simulate extremely heavy gravity
I mean...if my living room starts spinning....I would feel it.
Which components are you referring to? The ones that produce an artificial gravitational field in the ship?
Yes.
I should probably let the editors know about its absence on the site. There's a possibility that you haven't searched deep enough though.
if your living room started spinning, you'd feel it because your reference point for both you and the room is the earth
if you're on the spinny section of the ship, your reference point and only source of force is the spinny section
Hrm that does make sense.
But wouldn't you notice the spin once you stepped on for the first time?
After all, even in the Halo uiverse, everyone's first point of reference is Earth
if you tried to enter the section while it was spinning, yes, you'd notice
space is a vacuum
there's no gravity in space which is why you need to simulate it
How do the UNSC small arms weaponry work in space?
And the plasma based weapons too? Wouldn't the atoms needed to be ripped of their electrons just drift off into space?
what do you mean?
How can you use those weapons in space? I would have thought that they just wouldn't work, logically speaking anyway.
ballistic weaponry should work in a vacuum the same way in atmosphere
I don't think plasma weaponry needs gravity to work
since everything it needs is in the mechanism of the gun
plasma bolts appear to maintain their form in a vacuum
The M6 line is mostly recoil operated.
must be some sort of electric field around the bolt keeping the gas from dispersing
So it should work in space
I see.
Thanks, Chimera.
Don't ballistic bases weaponry perform worse in vacuums though? Or is that dependent on their firing mechanism?
Yeah, I remember something about an electromagnetic bubble being around plasma, or something like that.
a gas-operated carbine might see issues
cause the gas could expand in the vacuum and result in malfunction
So...to clarify, when you enter a spinning section after experiencing zero G's, your body reacts as if the spinning is not even there?
Because it 'creates' gravity?
How does the carbine work again?
i'm sure some do
Some of the SRS99 line do
The BR mustn't be an example, unless it's just an inconsistency on Bungie's part.
The SRS99C-S2 AM (The Halo 2 and 3 sniper) is Gas Operated.
I'll check. Gimme a mo
Much appreciated.
Doesnt say
That's okay, thank you anyway. I should have looked myself, to be honest.
I was digging in sources
Hello
What happened with the following things:
- the vessel that crashed on the ring. Was it ever explained what species it belonged to?
- What ever happend with that elite from halo 2, which had its mouth cut. He also appeared in halo 3, but didnt appear in halo 4-5
-
No
-
You mean Rtas 'Vadum, the Elite you meet in the first Arbiter mission cutscene in halo 2?
yes Rtas 'Vadum
also in responds to 1. Not even a hint or detail? So the terminal cutscene is all that is ever explained?
nothing about it in the books?
He is commander of the Shadow of Intent under the flag of the Arbiter and the Swords of Sanghelios. He used the ship to hunt down some rogue Prophets in the short story Shadow of Intent in 2553. After that I think he shows up briefly in some communication regarding SoI around 2557 but I don't think he is another story
I see
And I don't think we know anything definitive about the ship that crashed on I04. There are theories but nothing definitive I don't thimk
and one more thing. What is the furthest in lore event that takes place? Is it the reach cutscene with the helmet and this advanced ship in the background?
I forgot the year
2589?
@woeful pine had a video on it last year I think regarding the Meddlers, but it is just a fan theory.
I think thats right for reach. I believe the Halo 3 believe commercials are 2609 or something
Haloepdia has that stuff laid out pretty definitively.
2610, my bad
interesting
is there a reason why the believe ad takes place in that year
or is it a in universe ad or something
Yeah they are supposed to be. It's a series of ads. If you haven't ever seen them I suggest you go watch them. They are great.
oh ive seen them
but didnt know it took place in universe at a later time
why is the covenant ai speaking giberish btw
in halo 1
even 343 mentioned wanting to decommission it
The farthest lore event is the Halo 3 believe memorials, taking place in 2610.
Disregard me. Didn’t realize that had already been said.
Basically gone but not really known for sure
did the prophets know the great journey would kill them or did they really thing they'd rise to god hood?
They all thought it was ascendance.
The original sanshyuum supposedly got wiped out in 860ish bce when their star went supernova. The rest, the ones we know from the games on high Charity were mostly killed when the food destroyed it and the great schism happened
what about the prophets. what happened to their race post halo 3```
Most of the remaining ones from High Charity left to parts unknown. Rtas went after them for a time to find out who deserved to be brought to justice, and who was an innocent party. Their home planet *might* still be around, though.
what are some cool lore pieces?
that is similair to what ive asked before
maybe about the precursors, flood, future event, past event etc
what are some cool lore pieces?```
Sangheili are really long-lived, with the oldest stated age we know of being Nizat's: Around 200 Earth years old and still physically healthy.
They could have infinite forms, including spirit, walk on star roads. Said star roads, the physical structures in the galaxy, were in truth only shadows of the true ones which dived between multiple dimensions.
Can the bodies of pure forms be destroyed or brought back to life with an infection form?
No
Not in game at least
They are not combat forms that require a infection form to puppeteer them around
If they do but their body is intact can they or no?
No, they are made of pure flood biomass that doesnt require the infection form
I don’t think they can but the tank forms do have the trademark antennae of the infection form and that is their weak spot
Do the tank forms have less health than the shooting forms?
You know, whenever I read about the Star Roads, I always imagine the Precursors walking on them during their prime
Yep
Was it common knowledge amongst civilians to realise that seeing ODSTs was a bad sign?
I think seeing any military deploying in a civilian area would be seen as a bad sign
They weren't really integrated into society's structure?
I guess it would mainly be the Marines who would see it as a bad sign.
I think there will be travels through space-time in Halo. Only you have to realize ghaphics engine is named Slipspace Engine. If 343 introduces that mechanics on Halo Infinite it would be a revolution in Halo saga
God, I hope not.
The engine's named after slipspace, which is used to travel faster than light within the Halo universe, it's not a hint that we're going to time travel
Also, it's not the graphics engine called slipspace, it's the whole game engine
yes , I think it is an engine that reduces the charge times in game
Charge times?
The reason why they moved away from the old Blam! Engine was because Blam! was getting too old and hard to work with and a bit weak, a new engine was needed to ensure that the games going forward weren't limited by Blam!'s age
I just hope that it will be a good one.
I think the name of the game engine is the key to know how it would be the game , but , I repeat it' a supposition
So what kind of relevance does the name "Blam!" have to how Halo plays?
I don't care if there is travels by the slipspace in a playable way , but that means or makes out the functions of the new game engines like UR 5 or Slipspace about reduce the loading times in games to the minimum
That's about loading times though, it's not relevant to gameplay.
In games like the medium , the protagonist can change the enviroment inmediatly due to her powers , that implies that there's no essencially loading times between playable sections
but I don't know if it is possible in a Xbox One , or only in Series X
So Master Chief will be able to enter through slip space on a whim?
it's just a supposition anyway , but that would explode my mind
Halo Infinite is the other key in the issue
the name
I remember Bioshock Infinite
in which there is infinite universe
infinite universes in Halo , with many possibilities , that would explain why Master Chief wears an old armor , maybe...
That's a completely separate universe and franchise.
I don't know , too much time thinking these months
yes , I know
Can I suggest something that would be beneficial?
yes, of course
I doubt they chose the name "Infinite" because we're going to be hopping from one universe to another
Forget about everything you've just speculated and wait until you see the gameplay reveal.
infinite universes in Halo , with many possibilities , that would explain why Master Chief wears an old armor , maybe...
Chief's not wearing old armour, he's wearing a new suit that has similarities to older suits he's had
I can't wait , my first game on orignial xbox was Halo 2 , it's my favourite saga and very special to me
I'm sure it is, just like for many other people but hyping yourself up to develop unrealistic expectations is unhealthy.
The only hope that I can (and should) have is for the game to be good.
That probably comes across as a very pessimistic mindset, lol.
If annoys me when people say he’s in an old suit.
Ditto
No doubt that nostalgia based youtubers helped spread that misconception heavily before they knew
And maybe the look a bit but. Don’t think it would be as prévenant as that.
Well I just saw a post about super star destroyer against a cso
Easy victory
There hasn't been much clarification on it though, so I don't blame them for the confusion.
I just want infinite to be good halo wars halo reach quality
I even enjoyed halo wars 2
I want infinite to be way better than reach. And I’m not sure halo wars quality means something to infinite. But I do want halo wars elements there. But story wise i want it better than 4
If Infinite is anything like reach and it’s useless sandbox I’ll be pretty frustrated. Since I started playing halo all I’ve wanted for the game is balance.
If Infinite is anything like reach and it’s useless sandbox I’ll be pretty frustrated.
@queen otter Lmao no. Sandbox on halo reach was awesome. Never played speed halo, duck hunt or indiana jones or seen good halo zombie machinimas?
🤦♂️
So the focus rifle is good? Yeah I don’t think so.
Repeater was awful
Magnum was trash unless you were able to hit a headshot
Sandbox includes weapons
To be fair many of them had origins in halo 3, not reach
Y’all know this is lore chat, right?
Oh shoot
Balance is important to the sandbox
Lmao no. Sandbox on halo reach was awesome. Never played speed halo, duck hunt or indiana jones or seen good halo zombie machinimas?
Custom games like Speed Halo are less reliant on the balance of the sandbox itself and is more just something weird. Machinimas aren't dependant on the sandbox to be good or bad, they're dependant on factors like what most films are dependant on to be good or bad
Reach added versatility with better forging and more vehicles/weapons but some were indeed not the best. Though I am curious why no Covenant forces in reach had a beam rifle
Woah, I didn't know that this was general chat, nice!
Y’all know this is lore chat, right?
That’s why I left chatting in #483759756566069258 because you guys were talking about something completely different. Like RE or something.
I have to agree though, most of Reach's weapons fit into a very specific niche.
So in halo 3 the gravemind is worried about the ark because it can fire all the halos. But when the gravemind gets to the ark, it’s technically out of range of the rings
So the reason it was still worried was not for itself, but for the rest of the galaxy
Why do civilian construction site workers know how to operate a UNSC sniper?
Just an odd thought I had
Well yea, it would have starved
Becuse all you do is point and shoot with a sniper lmao
Civilians should be more adept on using handgun only rather than other arsenals.
Even with the ark it closely wanted the while galaxy
Becuse all you do os point and shoot with a sniper lmao
There's allot more to a sniper than point and shoot
The weight itself was more heavier than handguns and those construction workers are not trained to carry that heavyweight sniper
Becuse all you do os point and shoot with a sniper lmao
@glacial dock That is not true at all, have you ever heard of zeroing before?
There's allot more to a sniper than point and shoot
Doesn’t this apply to all guns lol.
I mean in the games you dont have to worey about shooting over long distances
Yes, this is a lore channel though.
All video game guns are point and shoot.
I'd want to dig in more about the gravity tech applied on UNSC Warships itself.
I still don't know why the Elites would know how to use UNSC weaponry if they regard it as "dishonourable" or "inferior" to use.
Probably because of Ballistic weapons considering Elites are more... "comfy" with their plasma arsenals.
Arent human weapons similoat covenant weapons tho? Like the repeater and beam rifle are just pulling the trigger to shoot
Yeah, but the downside is, it was too exposed for UNSC to use it
@humble yacht i think it couldve something to do with him wanting food?
Well... Is there another reason for it? Unless you do refer it as one of the weapon the Elites often used, Energy Sword.
I literally stated that they regard it as dishonourable to use human weaponry.
It can comes from many things regarding dishonourable thing. Like they prefer to fight humans in close or melee range in an honourable duel like Chief dueling Lodamee.
My question is why do they know how to use them though? I presume that the Covenant forced the races to become familiar with their weaponry.
Probably during early years or could be some Jackals brings human weaponry during early stage of war.
I guess so.
Kig-Yar loves to make a heist if I could remember. They could present it especially after a lots of plundering from Harvest. There are lots of treasure to make a heist.
Then the Hierarchs wants as many personnel as possible familiarize with UNSC Weaponry.
Well, we know that the Brutes like to keep UNSC weapons as trophies.
Kind of creepy if you ask me, especially seeing helmets lined up. Like game being hung up above your mantle or something.
It's common for Brute's barbaric nature.
Barbarians often hangs helmets and other stuffs lined up, proud of it as war trophies.
I don't think the Sangheili were any better, lol.
there is something called gameplay
I think Gek'Lhar (If I remember) also holds UNSC's dog tags as trophies, right?
Which race is that?
Yeah. Gek 'Lhar holds UNSC's dog tags and installed on his left chest armor as war trophies.
He collect 11 dog tags and I didn't know how he get it.
It probably wasn't difficult for him, lol.
Was he part of Jul's Covenant?
Yes. He was KIA during Second Requiem Campaign.
Good riddance.
parg vol aslo died
Who?
He was a Sangheili associated with Jul 'Mdama. Born on Malurok, the same world ripa 'moramee rebeled
He is a reccurent villain in spartan ops, until you finally assassinate him. He does escape and is very slippery
He was associated with Merg Vol. Who attacked Dratheus V and X50 and caused one of Palmer's friends, Spartan Davis, to die, by association.
While Merg Vol was assassinated, using Parg Vol's stolen phantom, Parg would survive and become an arms dealer and hit contractor until he joined Jul's covenant due to his hatred of humanity.
Crimson took him down, making Palmer very happy pretty sure, and palmer offering first rounds for crimson.
Oh, thanks.
so i just finished Halo CE remaster
man that was fun to revisit halo ce remaster
i never played it myself
But the thing i noticed, why is spark talking like he knows chief?
in one of the cutscene he mentions something saying chief already knew all this
Because Spark is mixing up the past and present in his mind.
Not exactly operating at peak efficiency and all that.
In Halo 2 or 3 (I can't remember which) Brutes used UNSC shotguns in combat
Halo 2
They took them as trophies in lore
Halo 3 as well.
They didn't use UNSC weapons in Halo 3
They keep spawning without weapons when I do that.
Oh, I was wrong, it’s Battle Rifles.
It's pretty weird of them to be using those weapons like that.
Probably just a coding thing.
Ye
did you guys play the games on normal or heroic?
better said: do you play games mostly on normal or?
I usually do Heroic for a first run-through.
is it because you like to increase the play time it takes to finish it?
or just the challenge
The latter
i tried heroic, but got a bit annoyed dying to fast
I tend to do either normal or heroic, but then subsequently do easy.
so i did normal and did a replay of CE
I’ve considered starting on Legendary, but I feel like I wouldn’t get the whole experience the first time, because I’d be fighting for my life most of the time.
Well... it would certainly be a memorable experience.
I’ve beat Halo 2 on Legendary multiple times
, and salt
