Also, here's the exact numbers for what I was talking about earlier:

The project was initially granted funding for 300 candidates, though funding was later reduced to half this number.[4] By 2517, 150 suitable candidates had been identified through DNA gathered from the UNSC's Outer Colony vaccination program, though funding had been further reduced to support only half that number. 75 children, all around six years old and of both sexes, were kidnapped.

i think

#

all this

#

was explained

#

in dr halsey's personal journal

#

i read it like a month ago

#

seriously

#

it has everything

midnight loom
#

oh.

tulip pivot
#

I have a question

humble yacht
#

ask it

tulip pivot
#

how is it that the humans never found the portal below new mombasa?

humble yacht
#

it was well hidden

#

and also it needed a keyship to work, which humanity did not have

tulip pivot
#

so without keyship you can't see it?

humble yacht
#

without the keyship, the portal wouldn't even activate

#

the real question should be: how did the forerunners ever expect humanity to find the portal if they buried so deep that it took multiple glassing beams excavating for 1+ days to uncover it?

tulip pivot
#

when humanity went to war with the covenant they were not at the same technological level as ancient humanity so maybe when we would get there it would be a lot faster to dig up

versed helm
#

forerunners knew how to mess with humanity

obsidian thistle
#

Plus even if humans did find a shred of evidence it was there. They'd need a ton of permission to rehome a lotta people.

violet notch
#

So, something always bothered me.
In the ending of Halo 3. 343 Guilty Spark looks right at Master Chief and says "you are Forerunner."
Then we get to Halo 4 and they change their minds and say nope, the race dubbed "Forerunner" are a different race than Humans.
Is that seriously just a retcon? Or did I miss something. Because honestly, the Forerunner and the Humans being one and the same was A LOT better narrative.
Is it possible that from a certain angle, a certain point of view, you can bend some of the facts, without wholeheartedly breaking them, and just say that Forerunner could also be a catch-all term for any of the dominant spacefaring races pre-Halo firing?

deep pewter
#

343GS was rampant by the time the events of CE-3 take place

humble yacht
#

Technically Bungie decided forerunners were a different race by halo 3

#

(Even if I preferred when they suggested humans and forerunners were the same)

violet notch
#

But if you squint really hard at some technicalities. You could make the argument that the definition of the components of the word "forerunner" could apply to the Humans and the Forerunner. A capitol 'F' vs. a lower 'f' kinda thing.

round comet
#

yes

versed helm
#

or it could be that chief has forerunner geas imprinted on him

#

which could also explain the seemingly unbelieveable forced evolution that happens H4

fair hazel
#

All the geas we know are forerunner in origin.

versed helm
#

not the ones in the forerunner trilogy

#

the geas there are ancient humans

fair hazel
#

Do you know what a geas is actually

deep pewter
#

We don’t have any basis for the idea that the Librarian could’ve implanted a geas into a specific person eons after the fact

versed helm
#

an imprint or a part of a person's consciousness is what i've been believing this whole time

#

their soul, in other words

#

or part of it, anyways

deep pewter
#

Nice theory, no backing

versed helm
#

thats kinda what happens, right?

#

like, at the end of the ancient human-forerunner war

#

the librarian "harvests" their consciousness

deep pewter
#

On a much more general level, I’m pretty sure

#

Implanting it into a single person of the species is where the problems in the theory come from

versed helm
#

yeah

#

chance plays too much of a role in that theory

fair hazel
#

That’s not whay the definition of a geas is

versed helm
#

oh yeah

#

looked up halopedia

fair hazel
#

A generations-long genetic command which can nudge or persuade individuals or generations into a planned destiny.

versed helm
#

then what would you call Forthencho's imprint inside Chakkas?

#

that seemed more like a genetic memory than command

#

what im trying to say is that same kind of imprinting was done in Chief's ancestral lineage

humble yacht
#

essence, maybe

versed helm
#

yeah

#

i guess it can be called a sorta geas, cause it still is deep genetic imprinting

#

On Requiem, a personality imprint of the Librarian activated John-117's Composer immunity in order to allow him to defeat the Didact, who planned to enslave all of humanity with the Composer. It was indicated she did more than this, saying she was going to advance his evolution by activating his geas, telling him she had left humanity many gifts, of which the Composer immunity was only one. The Librarian also said that the Master Chief's evolution through this geas was the result of a "thousand lifetimes of planning," but never got to tell him exactly what she was planning for.[2]

#

personality imprint is the thing its called, apparently

fair hazel
#

an essence stored using a geas

versed helm
#

so, an essence is a geas, but a geas MAY be an essence

humble yacht
#

transitive property?

versed helm
#

i guess

#

🤷‍♂️

fair hazel
#

No.

midnight loom
#

hmm

#

squares and rectangles

humble yacht
#

there's a math term for that

#

i can't remember what it is though

fair hazel
#

An essence is like the digital remains . I’m trying to see how to explain it.

midnight loom
#

um... a digital soul?

#

🙂

fair hazel
#

let's say a soul. essences were used before composer mind you, but not retain the same degree or, personhood in a way? how do i explain

violet notch
#

a shadow, or reflection?

humble yacht
#

digital imprints like those of the Librarian retain her memories but not her consciousness

violet notch
#

kinda like how Cortana is based on the brainscan of Dr. Halsey, but isn't Dr. Halsey herself

humble yacht
#

sure

feral perch
#

Eh that’s stretching it

humble yacht
#

i was thinking more like how when chief was flash cloned, chief couldn't see through the clone's eyes

#

the clone was its own entity

violet notch
#

Only if Cortana was made to at least act like she was a reflection of Halsey

#

which she wasn't

#

but the general idea is kinda close

versed helm
#

so, a digital clone?

humble yacht
#

it's like the opposite of the Warden, which is one consciousness that can exist in multiple bodies at once

midnight loom
#

well, "become a shadow of your former self?"

#

i mean, the composer was to.... compose the masses

#

and without much caution at that

humble yacht
#

composers were different in that they digitized everything

midnight loom
#

compsing ppl one by one in essences was much easier...

humble yacht
#

i think it's possible composed essences included the consciousness

midnight loom
#

well not rlly

#

safer

violet notch
#

They had the memories at the least

#

That was revealed in the Spartan Ops cutscenes

humble yacht
#

yes, but there had to be something addtional that the Composer offered, otherwise it was just a more violent method of making digital clones

violet notch
#

technically it offered immortality

midnight loom
#

hmm

#

mass production

#

of digital clones

violet notch
#

except were they really clones?

midnight loom
#

cus like "zap oh no our continent is gone"

versed helm
#

they werent clones

violet notch
#

or were they those that were composed, transformed

versed helm
#

they were cut and pasted ppl

humble yacht
#

wth is this guy talking about?

violet notch
#

I think they weren't clones, they were transformed

midnight loom
#

oh!

humble yacht
#

continent gone?

midnight loom
#

llike mass human AI making!

versed helm
#

something of that sort, yeah

midnight loom
#

🙂

versed helm
#

thats wort the composer does

#

but with any species, not just humans

midnight loom
#

yeagh

violet notch
#

i mean, you do kinda lose your... for lack of a better term, you lose your humanity

gilded mason
#

After all, if it only made a clone/twin, it'd defeat the entire purpose that the Forerunners desired

versed helm
#

aye

midnight loom
#

hmm

versed helm
#

why make a copy when you can just zap the original

midnight loom
#

ye haha 🙂

#

wait

#

it was made to deny mass from the flood

#

while not rlly killing the ppl zapped

versed helm
#

from the human's point of view, it did

midnight loom
#

hmm

humble yacht
#

from my point of view, the composer is evil

#

(well then you are lost)

I was just about to type that

jolly furnace
#

The only thing that differs between Composers and other sublimation/pattern extraction methods the Forerunners used long before that it seems is the Composers use of Neural Physics in its workings which the Forerunners didn't even understand anyway. Its not clear what benefits or deficiencies this may have caused.

humble yacht
#

Seemingly it allowed for consciousness transfer in addition to transfer of mementoes and personality

jolly furnace
#

They already had that though it seems. There armor could even store their consciousness in addition to their physical brains.

#

Its not really clear right now.

#

Whatever the difference it would need to substantial in hindsight given everything the Composers can do and were intended for could already done with other means it seems.

humble yacht
#

All I know is that when librarian died from the halos, she didn’t close her eyes on earth and open them again as a digital imprint left on requiem or elsewhere

jolly furnace
#

No she didn't. She disintegrated like all the rest

#

The AI stuff was in place prior to that

humble yacht
#

On the other hand, when Didact was composed, he probably opened his eyes in whatever digital space was set up for composed essences

#

Rather than being copied

jolly furnace
#

Who knows

#

I don't think Composers copy.

#

Though essences can be copied after

#

Didact is either in Domain or somewhere else

humble yacht
#

If the lore were consistent, he’d be in the abyss

jolly furnace
#

Yeah but i doubt that

obsidian thistle
#

Escalations = He be composed and contained.
Waypoint = He be digitized and contained.
Halo 5 = He be in the domain.
Halo Adult Coloring book = He be in the domain thinking about his wife while contained.

humble yacht

maybe the abyss is Domain-adjacent

#

that would bring everything together

#

not quite the true domain but just outside of it, where Warden could see them but still deny them access

I can buy that.

Quick question: The ark did ever recalled a ring for repair? I remember something about it in the forerunner trilogy, but i'm not sure

midnight loom
#

well, i think they just make new rings

carmine sleet
#

I'd have to dig into it, Silver but something we should note is that Installation 03 is still missing after Static took it to be repaired back in 2557

keen canopy
#

@safe siren Rings can repair themselves without relocating to the Ark. Rings are often located in systems with moons, asteroids and satellites that raw materials can be extracted from by Sentinels

humble yacht
#

If I03 relocated to the ark for repairs, then someone would have seen it there

#

hadn't the unsc had a presence on the ark in the years before the banished showed up?

keen canopy
#

since around 2555, yep, though a permanent base wasn't established until 2557

humble yacht
#

what i mean is, if halos had to go back to the ark for repairs, someone would have noticed it on the ark and notified the UNSC

#

you don't just ignore a sudden halo showing up in your atmosphere

keen canopy
#

Yep no doubt

#

Wouldn't be very efficient really. Either the damage is small enough that it can be repaired by it's own sentinels, or the Ark's foundry just builds a replacement. I doubt there's a middle ground

#

There's also the theory that the Ark keeps an almost-finished Ring in it's foundry at all times

humble yacht
#

that's a weird theory since it took... 4+ years for I09 to pop out when I08 popped out in less than a year

#

even if you take into account the amount of time the ark was damaged, I09 took way longer to come out

#

i know I08 came out premature, but only by 3 days

keen canopy
#

It took 4+ years to pop out yes, but the Ark was also busy repairing itself, as we see in Hunters of the Dark.

And Installation 08 was 3 days from being ready to fire (not 3 days from being finished) less than three months after I04's destruction. That's super quick

humble yacht
#

ready to fire seemingly means complete

#

since a premature firing worried Guilty Spark

#

but even if you take into account HitD, by the end of that novel, wasn't the ark repaired?

keen canopy
#

I disagree, but it doesn't really matter anyway. Ready to fire after less than 3 months, finished after less than 3 months, it's still super fast

#

Nah it was still being repaired

jolly furnace
#

Forerunner repair and production is super fast

#

Even on auto

keen canopy
#

Obviously it's just a theory and I don't actually lean either way. It's certainly possible I08 was built from scratch in 3 months, and the reason I09 took years is that the Ark was busy repairing itself

It's also certainly possible that the Ark keeps a partially-completed Ring in it's foundry, and that's how I08 was ready in such a short time. And then I09 took so long because it not only had to be built from scratch, but the Ark was also busy repairing itself.

Forerunner repair and production is super fast
@jolly furnace Faster than nanobots?

crimson steppe
#

it could very well be the scale that is represented. Maybe percentage wise, it isn't but on a case by case system, it is potentially

fair hazel
#

did someone say scale

crimson steppe
#

yes

#

the scale of repairing using forerunner tech which we don't know a great deal about or nanobots

midnight loom
#

hmm

jolly furnace
#

@dim roost
Forerunner teach uses nano-construction

#

Point is Forerunner production capabilities should be absurdly fast in general

crimson steppe
#

most definitely, hence why i mentioned scale.

fair hazel

watcher sentinels can make crawlers out of the raw materials of the ground below

crimson steppe

which is hella awesome provided they dont immediately try and kill us

fair hazel

one aspect I find cool about the knights is how, they can deploy this 'mini army'

#

a knight comes in, he gets his watcher out, who in turn gets some crawlers out. And maybe a turret.

Regarding installation creation times, it's also worth pointing out that the Ark's monitor notes that the central planetoid is largely depleted; presumably much of what's left is not useful mass. It might have been a resource issue as well.

tiny bay
#

On the topic of the installations, does anyone remember the meddlers

carmine sleet
#

Yes, many a conversation has happened surrounding who or what the meddlers are

obsidian thistle
#

;) You are welcome.

#

Though tbf they were a rare topic before I brought it up with folks who made vids

violet notch
#

The only one I remember using the word "meddlers" is Guilty Spark in reference to the religiously zealous factions of the Covenant.

#

He used it in the context of that they were meddling with things they didn't understand.

#

I know he used it in Halo 3. In the cutscene after Chief and Arbiter bring 343GS to the Ark's Cartographer. After he says, "oh my!" They're attacked by a Phantom. And GS pleads at Chief that "the meddler will destroy it all!"

humble yacht
#

Halo CEA introduced a different set of "meddlers" who arrived on I04 long before the covenant and UNSC showed up

violet notch
#

The ship that crashed on the ring in the Terminal Cinematics?

humble yacht
#

yea

violet notch
#

I would hardly call them "meddlers" though. None of them ever even survived the crash.

#

Let alone get the chance to "meddle" in anything.

humble yacht
#

GS probably used the term meddler to refer to anything that wasn't a reclaimer

jolly furnace
#

Meddlers is a term used to refer to any species that have meddled in his installation.

#

Its not referring to any singular species

gilded mason
#

Did Spark use meddler for them in the terminals? I don't remember

jolly furnace
#

Not to my recollection

violet notch
#

I don't remember him calling them that either.

humble yacht
#

what other meddlers could CIA be talking about then

violet notch
#

I don't think that term was used though.

gilded mason
#

Them. But What Ridley is saying is that it's a misnomer for the mystery aliens

jolly furnace
#

He even calls truth a meddler in 3

gilded mason
#

Because Truth is meddling

jolly furnace
#

Yeah

violet notch
#

Yeah, in 3. But Truth is actively meddling.

jolly furnace
#

Some seem to have misinterpreted meddlers as a specific species which they are

#

not

#

He even calls covies meddlers in 2

violet notch
#

The crashed ship in HCEA Terminals never really fulfilled the definition of the term. So yeah, I'd say it's an inaccurate label for them.

gilded mason
#
He even calls covies meddlers in 2```
Because they were meddling
jolly furnace
#

The crashed ship guys did nothing but crash and die so they didnt meddle

gilded mason
#

Yes

jolly furnace
#

Point is Meddlers is not a specific species as some seem to think

#

and espouse on YT and elsewhere

gilded mason
#

I don't think anyone here disagrees with that part, as far as I know.

jolly furnace
#

Me neither

#

But this misconception still persists somehow

crimson steppe
#

oh, were you talking of the sarcophogus?

#

I saw meddlers

gilded mason
#

oh, were you talking of the sarcophogus?
Yes.

crimson steppe
#

cool, I think it is a really interesting thing considering that it had to be an extragalactic species

#

and considering how hopeful guilty sounded in the original terminals before rather than after the meddlers, it is extremely interesting

violet notch
#

Ya missed our entire conversation, lol

obsidian thistle
#

There was a species Spark encountered after that crashed ship

crimson steppe
#

who knows, it could be that now they are members of the covenant fringe

violet notch
#

Calling them "meddlers" is a total misnomer.

gilded mason
#

A primitive, hegemonizing swarm calling itself The Covenant has landed on installation 4. Apparently seeking something specific. Exploring! Meddling! I've seen it all before. They'll record what they see and they'll leave.
This part?

violet notch
#

We're bemoaning that

obsidian thistle
#

That other "species" deffo made Spark lost hope after he was hopeful after he made the sarcophagus over the crashed ship.

#

I mean why else would he threaten the PoA when it got near?

#

But yea meddlers is only a term I use as thats what (even in a minor way) they do

jolly furnace
#

Fair enough but some people made videos or state the term is referring to a specific species as fact in Halo nowadays

#

I wonder how many species did find the ring though after the crashed ship guys

gilded mason
#

27.3

violet notch
#

Calling them "meddlers" though is a completely fabricated name. Not even 343GS uses that term even once in that cinematic.

#

Someone in the community inaccurately coined that, and it spread.

humble yacht
#

wouldn't be the first time

obsidian thistle
#

Ya know that person was me right. 😅

#

I wouldnt use it on the wiki. But its a great term to describe all the aliens and what they have done (again even in a minor way) in a casual way.

Way easier than saying "unspecified sentient aliens" each time we have to discuss them lol.

jolly furnace
#

Not blaming you CIA but others have taken it as fact and continued to use it as such from what I've seen on forums and videos and reddit etc. People still ask to this day who "the Meddlers" species are and if we will ever seen them someday.

humble yacht
#

well, in situations where you actually see that mistake being discussed, go ham on correcting, but in this case that mistake wasn't made

jolly furnace
#

I do correct them when I see it.

#

No that mistake wasn't made here,

humble yacht
#

yeah, you going full hog for no reason bruv

jolly furnace
#

Im just correcting a misconception

humble yacht
#

i get that, but i'm saying that no one here had that misconception this time around

#

you were preaching to the choir

jolly furnace
#

Might as well make sure

humble yacht
#

it's like, i don't go into the "there is no storm covenant" spiel unless I see someone say "storm covenant"

jolly furnace
#

I dont do that either

#

I thought someone had misinterpreted meddlers here so i moved to correct it. It wasn't done so its not an issue. So we can move on

#

I have a magazine i bought which first mentioned Storm covenant in it

#

Also one of them mentioned Faber as the villain for some reason

#

Also one of them said the Prometheans we encountered considered Requiem sacred ground and didn't want the coives there either.

humble yacht
#

they didn't

#

they attacked the covenant at first

#

they were in guard mode

jolly furnace
#

Yeah I know that. But that old magazine made it sound like the Prometheans or forerunners still retained their full consciousness inside those machines and were attacking of their own violation due to religious belief that Requiem was holy to forerunner warriors.

#

Not the case in the game

#

and expanded lore we now know

#

I still have that magazine

However, they might not be a priority for Cortana and so they could have some leniency between when she takes over fully and when Earth is shut down. Though the UNSC apparently stored some arms as it was at the front of the Insurrection and they might be willing to use those to fight back.

do you think the Ancient Humans had a chance at facing the Forerunners, if we weren't facing the flood at the same time?

keen canopy
#

I don't think so. AH-San Shyuum alliance would get rolled either way

versed helm
#

Did you guys now there was 2 unreleased halo games? One was LEGO halo and Halo for The Nintendo Dual screen (DS)

violet notch
#

Lego Halo isn't possible. Halo has a contract with Mega Blocks, Lego's competitor.

#

Lego's policy is to not touch anything rated M or R.

#

Halo's are rated M.

#

So Lego won't even touch Halo.

#

They try to keep a family friendly brand.

#

Sorry for busting your myth.

carmine sleet
#

I have a feeling Ragey may have confused the cancelled Mega Bloks Halo game with Lego

#

But either way, it couldn't have been Lego to have made it due to the aforementioned reason that Lego tries to be family friendly

#

Which is also true in their games

violet notch
#

Okay, a Mega Blocks game I can believe. However, I still have a tough time believing a title on a Nintendo platform as well. Nintendo and XBox are also direct competitors. Though, Microsoft doesn't have any handheld platforms, there's a possibility, but I doubt it.

carmine sleet
#

Halo DS was a thing, just not much is known about it outside of there being a working demo and it being a retelling of CE

unique rune
#

I would have liked to see the Mega Bloks game/Project Haggar finished. Looked like a neat concept.

But man.
The angry reactions it caused on the Waypoint forums... hoo boy.

carmine sleet
#

Honestly, it would've been something fresh and different for the series

safe siren
#

Yea, i would've played it

versed helm
#

No look it up, there was a legit LEGO halo, not a megablocks, I know the difference, I have megablocks halo sets, The game showed minifigs and there was only one video that seemed to be copied over and over, the game looked fun though not gonna lie.

safe siren
#

The platform sections were something fresh too

#

Are you sure it's not something fan made?

versed helm
#

Something I wanna see done one day Is Halo On source engine XD, that would be funny, or quake engine XD

carmine sleet
#

Why would they make a Halo game with Source or Quake? They already have Slipspace developed now

safe siren
#

Rocket Jumping with the concussion rifle is worth the work

versed helm
#

I know but it would be funny seeing a Halo remake in half-life XD

safe siren
versed helm
#

Anyways, Isnt Slipspace engine supposed to be like one of the worlds best game engines now? Also named after slipspace from halo?

safe siren
#

We only know what they showed us, and what that engineer said. For him it is one of the best, but let's wait to see it in the wild to judge it

versed helm
#

I cant wait for halo infinite, I think the originals were kinda already open world though, one thing I heard is an RPG upgrade system, I know Doom pulled it off but I dont think Ill like that in halo, maybe a command and conquer type mixture with fps sounds better, Like how Halo wars did it, but its also of course an fps like always. Actually the original Halo was supposed to be a command and conqeur type game like another game of Bungies's.

#

Ima go watch that video you linked, seeyall later.

safe siren
#

It's just a random video, nothing serious, or well made.

carmine sleet
#

the originals were kinda already open world though
Halo has never been open world

versed helm
#

bruh thats a meme video XD

#

Ok for a campaign fps, halo combat evolved maps were freaking huge compared to standard fps.

carmine sleet
#

That doesn't make them open world

safe siren
#

Huge != open world, i get your point tho

versed helm
#

some areas in the game were typical halls, some were HUGE FREAKING WHY SO BIG areas

safe siren
#

I'm expecting something like this for Infinite, a mix of Huge areas and smaller one, but with a linear campaign

versed helm
#

I actually went back and replayed the game not long ago, (maybe last week) for nostalgia and noticed actually how awful the final part of the games level design was compared to the beggining, thats typical for games though becuase its tiring designing maps, they just cut ideas short near the end, like when I watched people play Doom eternal The level design was great, but near the end it just flopped, it looked cheesy and dumb.

#

I kinda want halo infinite to play like Halo Reach, Halo reach felt different, Not like halo 3 ODST different, but its mechanics werent used in other halo games.

versed helm
#

Fun fact hint: Do not blow up only the armor of a Hunter, or your gonna have a bunch of worms everywhere, its not cool, (scene from halo nightfall plays when guy gets eaten bye Lek Golo hunters)

violet notch
#

Question. Why does damaging the worms in merely a localized section of a Hunter (its back) seemingly kill the rest of the minor local colony? Wouldn't some worms still be able to operate? Like imagine it like a zombie where it's limbs are mostly gone, but it can still crawl around. Raising the cannon arm threateningly and creepy off the ground.

#

Why does killing some worms seem to kill all of them?

versed helm
#

I never figured that out either, maybe the armor explodes and kills all of em?

violet notch
#

Why would they add that function? That doesn't make any sense. We see no explosions either.

carmine sleet
#

Fun fact hint: Do not blow up only the armor of a Hunter, or your gonna have a bunch of worms everywhere, its not cool, (scene from halo nightfall plays when guy gets eaten bye Lek Golo hunters)
That was a specific sub-species of Lekgolo, that won't happen if you kill the Lekgolo of the Covenant

versed helm
#

They should add a mechanic in halo infinite that makes it so that when you "kill" a hunter it breaks up so you gotta kill the worms or use a "returning" flamethrower from halo 2 to kill them.

violet notch
#

No

#

Now you're just adding stuff you think sounds cool.

versed helm
#

WE NEED SOME KINDA NEW GAMEPLAY

violet notch
#

Not that

versed helm
#

why? attention to detail is needed more in halo, All the lore seems to not be in game but rather seperate. I only know the lore for halo from other sources but not from the actual game, it needs more attention to detail.

#

Who ever wouldve known the Hunters and Scarabs were a bunch of worms?

violet notch
#

Because at the end of the day, it's still a video game. Things like pacing, balance, engine capabilities, and of course fun need to be priority one. Otherwise you could have the best lore ever, butno one's going to play your stupid game about it.

#

What you proposed, while it may address my question in the lore, is not a good gameplay mechanic. I was merely asking for some lore excuse for it. I wouldn't actually want to have to deal with that while I'm actually playing. That would be annoying.

#

So my question wasn't "why didn't they add that" my question was, "what could explain what we see?"

versed helm
#

Ok but the game doesnt just need to be fun, but also imersing, i play for the experiance, not to pass the time, Otherwise why would anyone make a story for a game? Ya lets make a game that makes zero sense, just grab a gun and shoot aliens for reasons unkown, i would get bored quickly

violet notch
#

There's a balance though.

versed helm
#

Exactly, reason I hated halo 4 and 5, I felt unnatached to the game, It felt like a standard fps like cod with no innovation and it wasnt as fun as other halo games, i want halo infinite to bring back that classic feel. It was more immersing into the games world. gonna be honset my first playthrough i felt like i was IN the game. The game needs more Detail and stuff to attach it to the lore. Along with gameplay to tie in that makes sense.

carmine sleet
#

They should add a mechanic in halo infinite that makes it so that when you "kill" a hunter it breaks up so you gotta kill the worms or use a "returning" flamethrower from halo 2 to kill them.
Flamethrowers weren't in Halo 2

versed helm
#

Ya understand what i mean right? I play for the experience.

violet notch
#

While all that is well and good. I still don't want to have to deal with Lekgolo squirming around after I just took down a Hunter. That would be annoying.

versed helm
#

umm there was flamethrowers in halo 2

violet notch
#

Your philosophy is fine. Your recommendation for it I have issues with.

bright briar
#

The flamethrower was in CE and 3, not 2.

carmine sleet
#

CE PC to be specific

versed helm
#

Ridley i agree, just an idea, but just more lore tying things would be nice, i dont care specifically for the lek golo, they are not the main attraction of halo

carmine sleet
#

There is lore in the games, but they can't just fit in everything just for the sake of lore. Plus, trying to make the gameplay bound by lore would make for an unfun experience

versed helm
#

Also The only time ive ever seen a flamethrower in halo was in halo 2 on xbox 360, its in the spaceship infected with flood thingy (sorry forgot name) that is seen flying thourh the sky and crashing in halo 3

carmine sleet
#

Halo 2 never released on 360

versed helm
#

i think its a space covenant city?

violet notch
#

Muh man. Halo 2 wasn't on the 360. That was Halo 3. Halo 2 was on the Vanilla Xbox.

versed helm
#

OH SORRY I played halo 2 on the xbox 360 XD, backwords compatibility

violet notch
#

You are absolutely talking about a level in Halo 3. Level's name is Cortana.

#

The Covy city is named "High Charity".

#

In H2 when you visit it. It only just now was attacked by Flood. Oh and no Flamethrower. In Halo 3 is when it'sbeen completely assimilated by Flood. And there's a Flamethrower.

versed helm
#

okay maybe i dont know when halo 2 ended and transitioned into halo 3 becuase they continue exaclty off of the same point and i played all first 3 games in one sitting

#

Lol that might be my mistake, I cant tell the difference between halo 2 and halo 3 XD.

violet notch
#

That's like the second to last level in H3. By the time you got to that point, you would have known you were playing H3 and not H2 anymore.

versed helm
#

well im sorry the games looked the same XD

violet notch
#

lol, not really

versed helm
#

They do, the graphics drastically improved upon halo 1

reef estuary
#

halo 3 is a pretty drastic jump from 2 doe

carmine sleet

Going back to this, both Halo 4 and 5 brought quite allot of the expanded lore into the games, Halo 4 is the first game to have the origin of the Spartan IIs talked about and various other things from novels are referenced

violet notch
#

A whole console generation apart!

reef estuary
#

you know it was actually halo 2 that started the whole fps trend

versed helm
#

okay maybe i dont know when halo 2 ended and transitioned into halo 3 becuase they continue exaclty off of the same point and i played all first 3 games in one sitting

#

also no halo 2 did not start the FPS trend, classic Doom did.

carmine sleet
#

Everyone forgets Wolfenstein

violet notch
#

Halo 2 popularized FPS online for the mainstream masses. It basically laid the foundation for all future online multiplayer experiences.

reef estuary

im referring to cover shooters where you regenerate your health behind cover

#

halo 2 popularised that

versed helm

Lol poor wolfinstein, i did not forget that, i thought everyone else did

violet notch

However, Wolfenstein 3D is the Grand Daddy of FPS. And Doom is the Daddy.

EXACLTY! YALL HAVE HIGH IQ

carmine sleet

THANK YALL FOR BEING TRUE GAMERS AND KNOWING YOUR HISTORY! most people forget wolfinstein, so i didnt mention it

#

I love doom, doom is noice, that game is actually supposed to not have a story so i dont care about lore, but they went and added some anyways

#

I think its becuase its a video game with no logic XD

violet notch
#

In any case. Let's take a step back. Without adding a very annoying game mechanic of having to kill every last little Lekgolo (just having to kill the tiny Infection Flood Forms gets really annoying all the time). Is there a lore reason why killing some worms seems to kill the rest of the colony? I don't want to change that, I want it explained. (redux)

fair hazel
#

@versed helm you’re talking a lot of gameplay and general stuff for a lore channel

reef estuary
#

if Id wager a guess its that killing a few worms doesnt kill the colony, but renders it inoperable, given that hunters are the collective resource of many worms.

fair hazel

In fact, most of is wrong channel.

ericklyboo just drop it and lets focus on next topic

fair hazel
#

They have gravity impellers.

#

...

versed helm
#

HOW THE HELL THOSE A GRAVITY HAMMER WORK? is it just a heavy weapon so they call it a "gravity" hammer? or is there like some magnetic ability, also I dont know what Gravity impellers are

reef estuary
#

id imagine what they have is similar to what ghosts have,

versed helm
#

Keith, im agreeing with you again

reef estuary
#

like similar to their propulsion systems, but in concentrated burst,

versed helm
#

I originally thought like boosters on it but none are visisble

violet notch
#

Tartarus's hammer demonstrated an ability to use some kind of gravity field to draw in targets. I'd say the run-of-the-mill hammers had smaller renditions of whatever that was.

solar bear
#

hi
unless they found a way to manipulate gravitational fields yeah

terse sigil

There are circles on the front they could be something

versed helm

Same thought, anyways ima feed my dog brb

fair hazel

They manipulate gravity fields and when they do the main strike, it sends out this kinetic shockwave.

#

The gravity hammer opens up in halo 5 revealing its interior.

agile dragon

o cool

solar bear

so i was right then

terse sigil

They did

versed helm

So I find the flood fascinating, but i never really found out where they came from, my understanding is (probably wrong) is that they were created from the forerunner for some purpose (idk myabe bio weapons, preservation?) And they got loose, but got contained again, within the halo rings

of course

@violet notch @versed helm They were originally called the Precursors, but when one caught a fungus-like disease, their hatre for the Forerunners caused them to embrace this corruption and they became the Flood. At least, that's what I remember off the top of my head

fair hazel

That is not accurate.

solar bear
#

no?

versed helm
#

wait is this "discord" (whatever that means)like legitemately ran by the people who made halo?

carmine sleet

Yes

solar bear

they were the Precursors

versed helm

SORRY, I had no idea, I thought this was some kinda community page for, well i dont know fun, I didnt know this is were like employees of 343 studios talked and stuff

carmine sleet
#

Just because there's members of 343i here doesn't mean it's a place of no fun

agile dragon
#

AFAIK The Precursors were being killed by the Forerunners and went into a dormant state as an inert powder, planning on going back to normal eventually.
They spent too long in that dormant powder state and eventually something sort of went wrong.
The powder was found by ancient humans and fed to their pet dogs because it made them exhibit more desirable traits.
The dogs eventually started growing things on them, and other dogs ate them off the other dogs, then started eating the other dogs, then started eating humans -> FLOOD

fair hazel
#

The precursors judges the forerunners unworthy of the mantel. Either through self defense or aggression, the forerunners killed precursors. Hunted them down. Some precursors made themselves into this powder form. To be preserved. Ancient humans found the powder and experimented with it. It had positive results on their pets until one day, they showed growths and other things. They were culled but some humans had eaten them before. And they became infected with was known as the shaping sickness. Or what would be known as. The flood. Their regeneration into their original forms didn’t go as planned. P

now where is the chat about in game stuff? or is this like ... I dont understand discord at all

fair hazel

Look at the other Channels.

And read the rules.

violet notch

Honestly, I'm not a fan of the Precursors. It just feels like their addition to the lore went something like this:
"Hey, we have this cool race of beings whose name 'forerunner' means 'those who ran (race) before'."
"Yeah, but we've over explored them. We need something new, something fresh, something to raise the stakes."
"I know, how about we invent this cool race of beings whose name 'precursor' means 'before'. They're like... before the before's."
"Cool, let's run with that."

My question is what's next? The "VeryOlders"?

agile dragon

something like star wars battlefront 2, except you can control the entire vessel rather then just turrets

versed helm
#

are seraphs really that superior to banshees though?

round comet
#

i believe they are yes

worldly nimbus
#

Seraph can just jump when banshee is in front of it. Banshee eliminated

round comet
#

seraph can easily keep up with a UNSC longsword

#

i realy doubt a banshee can do that

#

can it?

versed helm
#

i mean, most covenant technology and space tech, is superior to ours

worldly nimbus
#

But we can outsmart them, much like Keyes did during his loop

versed helm
#

they won most space battles.

#

only reason we even really stood a chance is because of our ground forces, that are much greater than the covenants ground forces.

worldly nimbus
#

True

#

If we just had a lot more ships and a lot more people with the intellect as Keyes, maybe we would be a little more better

#

And just... 5 MACs on each ship xD

versed helm
#

i think the largest thing was things like shields, that made covie ships way more durable compared to ours

worldly nimbus
#

But like... 5 macs would rip right through that shield

versed helm
#

usually was our tactic, to spam macs lol

worldly nimbus
#

Imagine if the UNSC filed more money into the macs to make them machine guns? XD

#

You get a titanium-a shell! You get a titanium-a shell! You get death

carmine sleet
#

Wouldn't be easy to make a full auto MAC cannon, it's gotta charge up every time it fires

worldly nimbus
#

Just make it into a minigun

#

Several barrels and while one fires, the others are charging

versed helm
#

takes a LOT of power most likely

slim thorn
#

Make a double or even triple-barreled MAC like Battleship

violet notch
#

Look up a game called Star Trek Legacy. It sounds like exactly what you're asking for. Only Star Trek instead of Halo. It's an older 360 game.

midnight loom
#

lmao

#

the thing is

#

the power is spread through the engines, the small boi turrets and the MAC

#

using that many MACs would either mean we become a bigger target by getting more power

#

or we would stop dead in space without point defense

slim thorn
#

If the Halo can made the Warship like Space Battle Yamato, they could utilize triple-barreled MAC

midnight loom
#

neither sound that nice

#

well....

#

hmm

#

we would have less space for staff

slim thorn
#

Yeah, less casualties

midnight loom
#

more chance cole protocol will fail

#

what goes on in most of halo is: a few hundred lives for billions? ez

slim thorn
#

Cole Protocol no longer affects UNSC

midnight loom
#

well yes

#

now that its after the war

#

but less space for marines and such

slim thorn
#

Like how the Strident ones being made, is it?

midnight loom
#

hmm

#

🤔

#

i suppose

slim thorn
#

Stalwart class holds more crew than Strident

unique rune
#

...Why would they make a triple-barrel MAC?
Not only would the power requirements be astronomical, but that’s... a pretty good example why you shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket.

midnight loom
#

i agree

slim thorn
#

What I want is UNSC can expect the Flood will return

unique rune
#

They... do...?

midnight loom
#

xdd they will

#

im sure

unique rune
#

The UNSC has Spartan training sims involving Flood outbreak scenarios for that reason

midnight loom
#

lol

slim thorn
#

And Cortana will be forced to make decision. Forsake Master Chief by continue opposing him or return to his side and yield the Mantle to John-117.

midnight loom
#

or get catured

#

*captured

#

ye....

unique rune
#

Or... none of the above...

slim thorn
#

Then go into rampancy once again by the Gravemind from Precusors

midnight loom
#

aaaaw man, here we go again

#

llol history repeats itself

slim thorn
#

ikr?

midnight loom
#

¯_(ツ)_/¯

slim thorn
#

Still, I prefer Chief and the Arbiter share responsibility to manage the Mantle

#

They both a good duos for leadership after all.

midnight loom
#

well

#

it was said fred had better leadership

unique rune
#

Or they could just... dispose of the Mantle as a concept.
Since it's... pretty dumb

midnight loom
#

and kurt more than him

#

but kurt is ded

slim thorn
#

Yeah, but Fred even cede the authority to John-117.

midnight loom
#

very much dead

slim thorn
#

He should have taken the mantle of Admiral to 117

midnight loom
#

cus fred be belittled

#

lol

#

i agree, mantle is kinda strange

slim thorn
#

With addition, John can't refuse if he was mandated to wield Admiral rank and commands all Spartan

midnight loom

lol

i mean

unique rune

This is... slowly sounding more and more like bad fanfic territory.

midnight loom

hes better with his own team

slim thorn

Ye

midnight loom

he would get them all killed

slim thorn
#

But he can do what he want

#

He only hold rank for formality

midnight loom

cus he never rlly fought with them

carmine sleet
#

And Cortana will be forced to make decision. Forsake Master Chief by continue opposing him or return to his side and yield the Mantle to John-117.
Please no to Cortana rejoining Chief

slim thorn
#

Probably can also tease CINCONI by giving her leftover food

unique rune
#

...What.

midnight loom
#

lol wat

slim thorn
#

I saw the current CINCONI profile

#

She was being teased during training days by John for eating leftover food

midnight loom
#

ooooh

#

lols

carmine sleet
#

Wait? Who's she in this context? Because if you mean Cortana, she was created long after Chief finished training

unique rune
#

Serin

carmine sleet
#

Oh

midnight loom
#

lol john did 2

#

lels

carmine sleet
#

Also, why would Chief tease Serin by throwing her leftovers? That doesn't make any sense for him to do

midnight loom
#

yeah, he never had enough himself

unique rune
#

Surprise, surprise, it's from the Kilo-5 Trilogy

slim thorn
#

No, i mean bringing her back memories

midnight loom
#

lol

slim thorn
#

Should they both reunited

unique rune
#

I mean, it's pretty bizarre and out-of-character for Chief in the first place

midnight loom
#

uh oh

#

yep

slim thorn
#

And... I just hope that Spirit of Fire also can be reunited soon

midnight loom
#

arnt they still on the ark?

slim thorn
#

Almost 30 years MIA

midnight loom
#

besides, forge is ded

#

no need

carmine sleet
#

yeah, he never had enough himself
No, it's not something Chief would do at all. Chief wouldn't tease people like that, that's not who he is

midnight loom
#

lol i suppose

carmine sleet
#

besides, forge is ded
no need
Why would the death of Forge mean that the SoF shouldn't return to the UNSC?

slim thorn
#

And we haven't got any news about Professor Anders

midnight loom
#

eh, he was mah fav character

#

didnt anders fall 2 flood?

unique rune
#

no

slim thorn
#

She's captured by Cortana's Guardian

unique rune
#

She's stranded on Installation 09 after a Guardian pulled it out of slipspace

#

Somewhere between the Ark and the Soell system.

slim thorn
#

Also got no news of UNSC Home Fleet

#

How much Warships it survived

fair hazel
#

At least 0 ships survived.

slim thorn
#

I don't think the entire ships falls into the Earth like that

#

Also, there are some warships with energy shielding. How did the Guardian can knock the warship out in one burst?

carmine sleet
#

If they're caught in Earth's gravitational pull and have lost power, they would fall down to Earth

midnight loom
#

im back. oooooh

#

well

#

i think the guardian used something related to slipspace

#

and the ships didnt have the slipspace shielding up

#

so ja

stoic hamlet
#

You don’t need shielding in Slipspace

midnight loom
#

well

#

the slipspace shielding

#

keeps the stuff inside the ship reality

#

otherwise everything would just die

stoic hamlet
#

.....you’re thinking of the Warp. Gellar Fields.

midnight loom
#

no...

#

dude

stoic hamlet
#

Slipspace is essentially regular space.

midnight loom
#

um no

stoic hamlet
#

It’s an alternative dimension

midnight loom
#

why do ships glow after exiting slipspace or entering it? shields

stoic hamlet
#

UNSC ships didn’t have shielding until 2554 at he latest

midnight loom
#

the didact scenes

#

go watch it again

gilded mason
#

Even the name "slipspace" is technically a misnomer because the subdomain is non-spatial.Ordinary matter cannot exist in the raw slipstream without being torn apart; ships traveling in slipspace are shielded by carefully-tuned quantum fields which wrap them in envelopes of normal space. Any construction in slipspace itself would have to be composed of specialized forms of exotic matter.

midnight loom
#

seeeeee?

#

slip space shielding

stoic hamlet
#

.......huh. Fair does then.

gilded mason
#

lol

midnight loom
#

lels

#

🙂

stoic hamlet
#

Warfleet? @gilded mason

#

I’m guessing

gilded mason
#

I vaguely also remember some part in Halo 4 (I think?) talking about some ship being "rated for slipspace"

midnight loom
#

the didact scene

#

is where the shields are mos promient

#

not e shields

gilded mason
#

@stoic hamlet
Apparently Halsey's journal.

midnight loom
#

cus u can pass through these ones

#

das how john suvived

stoic hamlet
#

Hmm, intriguing

midnight loom
#

yeah

#

its... strange

#

das why pelicans cant

stoic hamlet
#

The Condor is the smallest ship possible

#

(Which seems unlikely now, knowing the shielding, but okay)

midnight loom
#

the slipspace drive generates a shield 2

#

das why we can use it

#

¯_(ツ)_/¯

#

no idea how or why

slim thorn
#

Then how did Spirit of Fire can reach Installation 00 without any energy shielding or even slipspace drive?

midnight loom
#

hummmm

gilded mason
#

We don't know

midnight loom
#

that is.... strange

gilded mason
#

They never answered that mystery

fair hazel
#

Something made it go there.

midnight loom
#

yeah

#

oh my... a forerunner crystal

slim thorn
#

Yeah, but i expect that The Ark should use a portal on a small scale to transport it

midnight loom
#

it could be possible

fair hazel
#

And, unsc ships relied on the Armour to make the slipspace journeys

stoic hamlet
#

Obviously the answer is neural physics

midnight loom
#

lol

slim thorn
#

It's even recorded on the sensor records

midnight loom
#

ah...

gilded mason
#
Obviously the answer is neural physics```
Correct!
fair hazel
#

Sure with better technology drives, smaller@things can enter slipspace/survive

#

Speed

midnight loom
#

yeah

stoic hamlet
#

I think the Slipspace “fields” are a retcon. Because I swear it was just the armour/drive and stuff that allowed UNSC ships to traverse it.

#

Or....not a retcon, per se

slim thorn
#

Even UNSC Gettsyburg can use Covenant Borer fitted from Ascendant Justice with no side effect

stoic hamlet
#

^^^

midnight loom
#

well

#

something aint right

stoic hamlet
#

The Condor seems far too small to be able to enter Slipspace and survive if they need special shields/field generators.

#

I think it’s just “new” information conflicting with the old.

midnight loom
#

well

#

yeah

slim thorn
#

Not to mention UNSC's slipspace drive clearly could makes the drive exposed if fitted on Condor

#

Unless they already shrink the size to fit it.

midnight loom
#

well, forerunner tech

slim thorn
#

The only UNSC Warship on service fitted with Forerunner Tech as far as I know is UNSC Infinity

midnight loom
#

didnt they adapt other ships?

carmine sleet
#

They upgraded ships with better tech but Infinite is the only UNSC ship with Forerunner tech

midnight loom
#

ok....

slim thorn
#

They're still using Titanium plate.. Hopefully they can upgrade it with Nanolaminate plating

fair hazel
#

Uh condor isn’t really small

#

The Gettysburg could already survive slipspace transit

slim thorn
#

Actually, the size is small enough to be fitted with slipspace drive

#

Unless the drive was small enough to fit in.

stoic hamlet
#

That’s what we mean though. The Field or whatever doesn’t make sense if stuff like the Condor, or Gettysburg can go into Slipspace no problem.

#

It doesn’t really work.

fair hazel
#

not enough mass and stuff, it puts more stress into the ship or thing traveling slipspace

slim thorn
#

Because you need adequate research to make it happen.

midnight loom
#

lol nanolaminate

#

isnt that from gundam or something? 🤔

unique rune
#

...No?

#

Nanolaminates are a real thing.

#

The Covenant's used nanolaminate armor long before Gundam IBO came along and did stupid nonsensical things with it.

slim thorn
#

Covenant are using Nanolaminate plating and.... it was a nightmare for unshielded UNSC Warships. Even UNSC Spirit of Fire lost all of its herons on the port side while the graze barely damage the CPV-class Destroyer

feral perch
#

those herons were magically restored come HW2 lol

unique rune
#

neural physics

slim thorn
#

Serina already repaired it during those 6 years of drifting

#

Probably tasking some UNSC Retrieval teams to gather every inch of materials they can fetch

unique rune
#

6 years
You are off by... about a factor of five.

feral perch
#

Bruh they were adrift for 28 years

slim thorn
#

And Serina done it in less than 7 years, before her lifespan ends.

feral perch
#

that's only speculation

#

Unless there's a Phoenix log that says that?

abstract venture
#

Most if not all post war ships use forerunner tech for the unsc

midnight loom
#

ah

abstract venture
#

The UNSC discovered a forerunner shipyard in Onyx so they planned to equip every UNSC ship with instant interstellar communications and accurate slipspace jumps, and huragok just constantly improve UNSC ships aswell

midnight loom
#

lol i suppose so

slim thorn
#

Yeah, but the only current services applied is only at UNSC Infinity

midnight loom
#

ah

abstract venture
#

No osmans cruiser was upgraded immediately

slim thorn
#

Other UNSC Warships are not fitted with Forerunner technology even the Autumn-class Heavy Cruiser

midnight loom
#

ONI first huh?

abstract venture
#

And they planned to upgrade every ship within the next 5 yrs

midnight loom
#

lol

abstract venture
#

And considering were over 5 yrs past the kilo 5 trilogy they should all be upgraded by now

#

Also they planned to have huragok on every ship

midnight loom
#

wow

slim thorn
#

But only enhanced as I seen it. Only the Port Stanley, right?

#

Furthermore, Ace of Spades also receive Forerunner Technology

midnight loom
#

but das ex-UNSC

slim thorn
#

Does Port Stanley was used when Hood and Serin are escaping Cortana from Earth?

midnight loom
#

not sure

slim thorn
#

Because that Prowler was now inoperable due to Black Box was also taken

midnight loom
#

wait bb betrayed them?

feral perch
#

no

slim thorn
#

No, ONI secured Black-Box and taken to safety

#

While Port Stanley's system was mainly run by bb

midnight loom
#

ah

slim thorn
#

Either it was used along with Serin and Hood to escape Earth from Cortana, or being left behind on Sydney unattended. But, I expect that Port Stanley was used by Hood and Serin to escape from Cortana's grasp.

gilded mason
#

They used a random prowler, not the Port Stanley, looking at the story

slim thorn
#

So Port Stanley now was inoperable since the primary functions now has been taken for safety to Rossbach.

midnight loom
#

hmm

feral perch
#

wasn't the Port Stanley tho

midnight loom
#

sad life aahahaha

slim thorn
#

Yeah, but bb held the primary function control over Port Stanley.

feral perch
#

Do we know if that was still true by 2558?

midnight loom
#

dunno

slim thorn
#

Considering Port Stanley was exclusive for Kilo 5, could be.

midnight loom
#

yeah

feral perch
#

Kilo-5 might not have been active in 2558.

slim thorn
#

Yeah since they were all scattered due to Cortana, it was inactive not to mention the CIC (Serin) also went into hiding. Naomi was also nowhere to be seen though.

obsidian thistle
#

K-5 were still active. Thanks Mythos.

midnight loom

didnt naomi stay with her father?

carmine sleet

what happened to green team and red team?

feral perch

Green Team no longer exists in any form afawk

Red Team, comprised of Alice, Douglas and Jerome, are still fighting the Banished on the Ark and helping the Spirit of Fire. Again, as far as we know.

midnight loom
#

hmm

light igloo

thanks a lot @gilded mason , hope they have it on audible

carmine sleet
#

I believe most Halo novels are on audible

midnight loom

yeah

stoic hamlet

Red Team wasn’t just Jerome, Douglas and Alice, tbf

#

It was just a standard II team name

feral perch

I literally specified Red Team comprised of

Oh, whoops

stoic hamlet

I like, didn’t see those words

light igloo

what was the latest update on kilo 5?

stoic hamlet

They’re disbanded, IIRC

#

Or at least still preforming super classified missions as of 2558

obsidian thistle

*2559

#

The framing device of Mythos is set in that year.

#

Fun fact. It took the Curator 8.77 hours to make the Mythos document.

keen canopy
#

Though it seems that the team of Jerome, Douglas and Alice were always designated Red Team

#

Presumably because they were re-augmented and retrained together

#

So their composition wasn't fluid like the rest of the IIs

#

That's how I justify their armour anyway

fair hazel
#

Team composition isn’t always the same

versed helm

other spartan-IIs do not know of their existence, correct?

fair hazel
#

Of the spirit of fire’s red team?

versed helm
#

correct

#

i've heard that somewhere, don't remember where

keen canopy

So their composition wasn't fluid like the rest of the IIs

midnight loom

oooh

#

ok

keen canopy
#

and yes @versed helm, ONI didn't want successfully augmented IIs meeting the washouts on the battlefield because it could disrupt them emotionally.

#

stated by Mendez.

#

Which is probably why Red Team and possibly Omega team's composition seemingly is always the same.

slim thorn
#

Red Team, comprised of Alice, Douglas and Jerome, are still fighting the Banished on the Ark and helping the Spirit of Fire. Again, as far as we know.
And they're still listed as MIA by UNSC Officials, unless until Anders can make a contact with UNSC.

tender ginkgo

I hope they get to reunite with Chief since the guy deserves that more of his family lives.

I would love for all the Spartan-IIs to know which Spartan-IIs are alive

humble yacht

You

The ark makes new rings, it doesn’t repair old ones

#

Besides, shards of the original I04 are still out in the galaxy after Halo 3

Thats the whole point of Nightfall. Dudes went to that shard and found weird twisted Forerunner metal that killed humans.
So the UNSC nuked it.

humble yacht

That’s not all they found 😉

slim thorn

I'm curious about UNSC Home Fleet until now.... Because humanity's homeworld can be a feast for the Flood.

carmine sleet
#

Any home world would've been a feast for the Flood

feral perch

The Gravemind ignored Earth and used neural physics to jump to the Ark.

stoic hamlet

It was like the Night King but smart

#

Why attack Earth if they can’t actually do anything to stop you from hitting the Ark?

slim thorn
#

No, I mean when Cortana reigns like this, how will UNSC Home Fleet will survive if the Flood from other systems came to invade Earth.

feral perch
#

Why would that happen?

carmine sleet
#

Why do you assume there's an imminent Flood invasion?

Because it needs to be expected.. The Flood attacks when the Forerunners are exhausted
